Someone needs to get properly stuck into our football club and spend considerable time, resource and planning to get us organised again.
Matches get called off, it happens, but what happened yesterday and the way it was handled makes me feel, more than anything else, sad.
A once model football club with enviable values and a structure to be proud of reached a new low yesterday. Fans slating the club, fans continuing to bicker continuously about the next negative chapter in our beloved club. This gloom has to end. Months of neglect and poor judgement/management has come home to roost.
Hope you realise what you've got yourself into Mr D.
Maybe given the massive area of the cover and the vast amount of rain water run off into already defective drains, the water is just collecting under the playing surface. I hope they get Tuesday's game on and the Oxford 11 turn up rather than the 8.
The Doncaster game last August was abandoned because of extremely heavy rain.Am I right in thinking that (in retrostpect) it was not all the weather's fault that day?Perhaps the drainage problem was already starting to show its signs even then?

Last season there was a massive monsoon against Hull, but the pitch played reasonably well in the circumstances, I presume the problem must have started later in the season?
I think the drainage probllems had started last season because the pitch in the second of the season had never been that bad before. To be fair to Paddy he had got it looking really good in the summer. I feel sorry for him.
I was on the coach having just paid the £8.50, but now I am more worried about how we manage to play the rest of our home matches. We've been told that the drainage system has collapsed, and obviously it can't be fixed untin the end of the season. Are we talking West Ham again ?
Given the Cup postponement this one could have been handled differently and saved a lot of people a lot of aggro and expense. if Mr Bradshaw wants to shrug, say 'shit happens' or 'what can you do'? then he should leave. It is not right to have left things until after 1pm last Saturday. I suspect Mr Bradshaw doesn't really care and feels irritated and exasperated by those who feel put out, and reckons the paying supporters are basically plebs.

While I do think that the buck stops with Steve Bradshaw the rest of your post is way way way over the top.
It really doesn't help the debate in the same way your personal vilification of Steve Waggott ("he smiles a lot") didn't help.
It is ironic that you use the term "plebs" which it turned out was made up by a vindictive group of police officers trying to bring a minister down.
Criticise Bradshaw, Slater, Jimenez, Murray, Powell (Chris or Colin), Duchetlet or whoever for their actions but not for imagined "feelings" or statements you have put in their mouths.
Richard Cawley @RichCawleySLP #cafc know they are not blameless in Valley pitch problems but Barnsley spinning tales that are not true.

Richard Cawley @RichCawleySLP #cafc tweeted that pitch inspection as soon as they were made aware of it. Pitch in better condition than it was for Brighton or Sheff W.
Richard Cawley @RichCawleySLP Issue is largely down to drainage system collapsing. That can't be addressed until the end of the season. #cafc

I just saw that on Twitter, he is much maligned but Cawley is ok.
Charlton Athletic FC @CAFCofficial 1m It has been confirmed that this afternoon's pitch inspection will take place at 1.30pm. We'll provide an update when we have one. #cafc
I've long said that any team reaching the premiership should have an amount of the money that brings, ringfenced to be used for installation and maintenance of drainage and irrigation systems and under soil heating. About half of the 92 league clubs would now have a legacy of sorts from their time in the top flight if this were introduced.
The problem is of course - we had a drainage system that was working fine when we were in the Premiership - a drain has collapesed relatively recently. Had it not - the pitch would probably be in good nick, as it has been in previous seasons.

Proposals were put to the board in the Premier League - around 2003 - to install undersoil heating and upgrade the drainage. They were rejected on cost grounds.
However, that is so long ago it comes under ifs and buts, in my opinion.

FYI my boys u8 side managed to get a game in today on a pitch that's a pudding in August!

I was there on that day. They didn't let us near the pitch. We were only clearing the steps, walkways and entrances.
