now we have missed out on Stewart and Sordell crocked we are really light on bodies
No reason why we won't see some youth players start to make their way into the squad, possibly poyet/munns as they at most like Stephens playing style wise
I think we won't. At least not yet. There will be loans coming in to cover the deficit.
I mean not necessarily in a starting capacity but no harm being in the bench , we've already seen Harry Lennon this seasons so why not poyet etc

the last time we flooded the team with loans it left us somewhere up the creek (and I don't mean Creek Road)!
Quite possibly but I don't see any reason to think that we are going to be splashing cash. That means loans.
Harriott scored two and set up two against Spurs in the 10-6 game, he should be ok to start on the left in place of Stewart. Jacko is availble too, although I dont really like him out on the left. The new guy is available which could see a change in formation. We will be light if we dont sign someone this month, but for Saturday we should be ok, albeit a little weaker depth wise
Stephens is having his best season yet with us and has formed a fantastic partnership and understanding with Cousins. He has six months left on his deal and we can't stand in his way if a Premier League comes in, especially if we'll get some money for him. Seeing what other players of similar ability have been sold for I think £1m is far too cheap but that's the situation TJ and MS have left us in. Selling players on the cheap is what happens at Charlton isn't it.
Gonna be a struggle for the rest of the year. Wonder if Powell will be able to find quality replacements, plus strengthening the overall team to escape this relegation battle (a striker mainly). All in about 3 weeks too....
Dont forget the loan window will re-open in February time... might be able to do some deals then (although not sure if we're about to bring Foreign players in during that window)
We Will sign Thuram, a left winger, two strikers and a cover right back imo, and 4 or 5 will leave (Green, Pope and Pigott on loan, one of the Bens for a fee, and maybe Stephens) and 3 of the 5 signings will be from RD'S teams
scp told dale if a decent offer comes in that benefits both parties then Dale can go
Dale has put in a real quality effort this season thus far if that means he gets a deal that moves close to where he needs to be good luck to him and I hope that he gets reward from his effort
My opinion of Dale has soared over the past few months & he's become a favourite in the team. I know that its been stated for some time that he wants to return North but speaking to someone at SL this week somewhat muddied the water..
I was told that Dale has been very upbeat & chirpy in recent weeks as opposed to quietly going about his business. Could be as a result of gaining a regular place and confidence returning but I guess could also be because he's aware of another Club nearer home looking at him.
Hope it's the former - that he's finally settled down in the South as I don't believe too much disruption of the influential players in our squad would be ideal whilst we're still clawing our way to a place of safety in the Championship.
I could understand if it was about going back up North and obviously the money but Stoke would be an odd team for him can't see him doing much with their style.
Stephens would be a required player for any Club in the Championship that wants to be pushing for the top 6.Monay and a god Contract could make that desire to be up north desire disappear.
I thought that his girlfriend moved down here & he was quoted in the News Shopper that he was hoping to earn a new contract ?

I am sure that is the usual lip service we get from all playing staff.
I do hope he stays as he's always been another of the better attacking options we've got. Having lost Stewart I'd be loathe to lose Stephens as well in this window to be replaced by a loanee or other some such. Let's not forget we are still in a relegation scrap and we need those that understand the predicament to help out. Let's pray we offer a good contract to him very soon and he decides to sign on the dotted line.
I try honestly! I split oy forum time between FM 2014 (made Caribbean megapack over there), Soca Warriors (Keep up on Trinidadian and Tobagonian football) and here
I think I read slower than you Micks takes me a while! 2 seconds per post means 200 seconds (100 posts) which means 3 minutes 20 seconds, do that per popular thread and it eats away your time
we need a defender, two midfielders, a striker and sordell to come back from injury and play well. so far we have signed what looks like nothign pecial for the midfield, jsut a benchwarmer and a goalie. lotso f work on the team to do.
It's January so it's the traditional time of year for us to sell our best midfielder, nothing new to see here! Expect it to happen at 23:50 on Jan 31 and then for him to be replaced by some rushed an ill thought out 'emergency' loans a couple of weeks later.
We are hearing Northampton Town are set to sign Sheffield United defender Sean McGinty on loan until the end of the season as they look to bolster their defensive options.

It really doesn't take a lot of time & effort to skim read a couple of pages of posts for something you might be interested in.
"Tom Rogic obviously has the World Cup and we have to be mindful of that but for us we need to get him playing football."
