The Luke Freeman rumour from the old thread might have some legs. Mate who works at Stevenage mentioned it yesterday (unprompted). His assessment (from a fan and fringe coaching perspective) was that he's very tricky but lacks pace and a final ball which makes him a bit redundant on the left. Attacking cm playmaker is where he's better suited in my opinion as long as there's plenty of defensive cover. Might all be immaterial now we're minted......
Adam Le Fondre might be available from Reading. He would definitely sort out the goal problem. Having said that, if he read some of the stuff posted about him when his name was mentioned for our L1 side a couple of years ago he'll probably steer well clear the poor lad.

I saw on the BBC this morning that he's getting fed up of sitting on the Reading bench (whilst being their top scorer) - Now he in my opinion would be a great Striker partner for Kermorgant - Works hard whenever I've seen him and knows where the net is!!

Cant believe he can't get a game in the championship

It's absolutely insane. Managers do tend to moan that he doesn't do enough for the team but it's not like Reading are running away with the league. Imagine being in a position to leave a goalscorer like him on the bench
Do you think Powell has even had the chance to genuinely think about potential players he wants to bring in, given the situation the club has been in since the start of the season? I am sure he has had his eye on some targets, but I think over the last month or so, all of his efforts have been in keeping up the morale of the current playing squad, may who are out of contract.
I hope he's had one eye on potential targets if a takeover went through, but I reckon it's been emotionally very draining for him and he's more concerned with his, and the current squad's immediate future.

If RD asks 'OK, Chris, all done, now who do you want me to go after and what will it take?' and CP responds 'well, it's been very busy so I haven't really done much work to that end.' he might as well pack his belongings in a black bin liner.

I wouldn't underestimate the gaffer's ability to juggle several balls (nla !!) whilst keeping his eye firmly focussed on the current picture. Multi functioning personified ...
I'm guessing he has 2 lists pegged on the board in his office : one with players he'd sign in the blink of an eye if he had the money and the second, players he's interested in /have been identified by his scouts should he have to forget the former. Think I posted after the BTTV dinner that Phil Chapple told me he had been in Europe on scouting duties that evening.....
Hopefully, today's announcement has put a new spring in his step & he's ready to show the rest of the Championship that Charlton is a Club to be reckoned with in the second half of the season.

I'm sure Chris has done a lot of homework.
I agree, I just hope this whole saga hasn't limited his chances of getting players he actually wants. I would presume that things like wages, signing on and transfer fees were things that probably going round in the back of Chris' head and in the interim, player's agents make contact with other clubs etc.
Someone under the twitter @MarkBarnes_ has posted a picture of Astrit Ajdarevic (Guy we was linked with by Sky) at the training ground so I assume that's a done deal.
