Bent scored for Fulham, so cant see them letting him come to us now

He's only on loan there from Villa anyway.
  • Is Guy Thys still alive?
  • According to my information, it seems that # Ozturk moves towards a loan 6 months (without option) Charlton # CAFC CAFCofficial @ @ @ ladh mercatodh

'After Iandoli lent to Saint-Trond and Öztürk at Charlton, the next to join a satellite clubs Standard should be Dudu Biton attackers and Reza Ghoochannejhad'

im guessing that means the two others will be joining aswell
  • Should be interesting then! Good stuff!
  • Translated (courtesy of Google) the dhnet article reads thus:
After standard Astrit Ajdarevic is a second Rouche who could join the club of English D2 redeemed by President Duchâtelet.
We officially announced Friday , Roland Duchâtelet bought the English club Charlton, in which his company Staprix NV will acquire 100% of the shares.

In the process, we learned that the Swedish Astrit Ajdarevic, relegated to the B-ring side Sclessin, started as a loan to the English club division 2.

According to our information, it is now the turn of Alpaslan Öztürk be leaving for Charlton. Again, it would be a loan of 6 months.

Standard headed off to Spain a short while ago and Ozturk wasn't in the party. Neither was Ben Haim, but that's because he's stuck in New York due to the weather.
  • The word is that Solly's knee ligaments have gone and that he will have limited playing ability so signing cover makes sense.

Ozturk's best position is defensive midfield, according to a quick Internet trawl.

His You Tube clip makes him look rather offensive than defensive.

  • So it would possibly be right centre midfield with right back cover with Ozturk, hopefully with Solly not going to WHU, Adjavervic at left midfield, and additional strikers of Reza Ghoochannejhad and Dudu Biton with Ghoochannejhad as possibly left wing. Ghoochannejhad / Adjavervic as replacement for Stewart.

The positive thing is that it looks as though Charlton will be FFP compliant and if as looks more likely that we retain championship status.

It will be interesting to see which of the main charlton players are given a contract.
  • The YouTube clip of the Iranian lad is interesting. You always have to be careful with these clips as you don't know how good the opposition are and they can edit out all the glaring misses, but there are certainly some well taken goals in there and it looks like he'd potentially be the right type of partner for Yann.

The Biton guy could well come too, if Sordell goes back there would be room for a 4th senior striker as an option/cover for Yann (not sure what type of player Biton is).

The Ozturk guy sounds like he's probably a decent player too, but would he be cover/ competition for Solly, Wilson and Cousins or are we prepping ourselves to sell one of the Crown Jewels? Realistically someone will be sold at some point because we have to start balancing the books a bit...

Overall I have no real problem with this as long As Chris Powell is being given power of veto over any of these moves and he's also allowed to sign players from outside RD's family of clubs, but my gut tells me that might be a bit naive to expect.
  • These players may be no good! Also im worried how it will affect the team dynamic as powell has stated before he is careful to look at players characters as well as ability when making a signing
  • I would imagine that if all four come in then that will be it for our January window.
  • I just hope any short-term loan signings don't hinder the progress of players actually contracted to Charlton.
  • If Roland really loves us he'll loan us their £8m striker who Arsenal and Everton want

Doesn't necessarily mean both will come to us though. The iranian seems a better option so i'm pretty sure we'll be getting him, but Biton might go to one of Roland's other clubs.

Not really. It basically says that now Standard are out of the Europa League and Belgian cup, the opportunities for squad rotation are limited and that they have enough cover hence the two midfield boys to us. It then says the two attacking players might be next to go to one of Duchalets clubs but doesn't specifically say Charlton (although I reckon they could).

Edit: Sorry, this meant to be a response to Valley 11. Now see others have already answered.

I was worried before the takeover that this might be the case but the real prize is building a decent squad for next season and having a crack at the play-offs - so why sell the best players? Cover for Solly and Wilson on the right makes sense

Who is he? Another SL player?

But it might make sense if, say, we could sell Solly for 4 mill, put 2 mill in the bank ( be it the club's or RD's personal account), replace him with Ozturk basically for free and then have 2 mill left to strengthen the rest of the team.

Not saying it's what I'd do and the hypothetical numbers above may or may not be realistic, but it's definitely a plausible scenario.

  • I highly doubt Solly would pass a medical anywhere.

    I can speak good french

Basically Ozturk has agreed to join us for 6 months, with the possibility of a full year (end of season)

Biton and Ghooj, Are currently Considering joining us on loan, Nothing has been agreed yet

This is could be down to the say of CP, and them wanting to join, Or prehaps been giving the option to go else where, but it doesn't really state why its not a'' done deal ''
