(now merged on to one thread)

The Trust has requested clarification after the club recently said only Lower West and North will be open for the Oxford FA Cup match, we have also asked for reasons for the closure of a number of kiosks.

  • Well done. Questions do need to be asked. My fear is it will be chaos on the day. People will sit in wrong seats because they can't get five together as they want so creating angst amongst our own support. And that is without people returning ten minutes into the second half because of queues at those kiosks open and the limited toilet facilities. Looking fwd to hearing their response.
  • There was an article on the programme on this although it didn't say much beyond the cup will make "considerable" savings and sitting everyone together will improve the atmosphere (or words to that effect).
  • I can understand the north and west upper being closed, but not the east.
I know we are skint but this takes the p*ss. we are slowly becoming a joke of a club while under the stewardship of MS & TJ. They have the cheek to up the prices and then have the nerve to not invest in the pitch or squad and then they close a whole stand for a cup match.

If this carries on, it won't be long before one of us has to nip down to sports direct to buy some match balls and kit..!!
  • People moaning about not being able to use the normal seat is ridiculous ! they must have a pretty perfect life if they have time to complain about stuff like that.

People don't turn up to these games and then get angry when they can't sit in their usual seats if they do decide to turn up. Not aimed at anyone in particular but people do love to moan...

  • The way the rain is coming down, this is likely to be a moot point.

Couldn't the trust ask about the pitch?
  • Lets open the two area's of the ground where the fans will be most exposed to the elements eh? But it will look good on the 20 seconds of highlights on SE news!
  • Can't see the game going ahead if this rain keeps up
  • I think the trust might have misjudged this one

I would say 90%+ of charlton fans couldn't give a toss about this and I would put my mortgage on the fact there won't be 7000 home fans in attendance

Think the club have got this right if it saves a few quid on stewarding

Exactly, as Rothko says the topic of the pitch, is for me, much more concerning.

  • we have made representations on the pitch, both in person and on our site but so far no comment back from the club, have the fans forum asked this too?

I think the actual figure is 94%......

Agreed, even at £10 a ticket my dad laughed in my face when I suggested we go to this

The trust are members of the Fans Forum so wouldn't you know that already?

Seems odd you have two threads about the same topic of the stands being closed but haven't mentioned that you have asked questions about the pitch or posted a link to the questions you have asked on your site.

Good to see the Trust asking questions though, that's what it is there for.

  • So what areas are open then?
  • So what areas are open then?

The Jimmy Seed, two blocks of the West Lower and twelve seats in the Covered End. Should be enough to fit all the CAFC fans in.

Nov 12th "We hope to feedback a response possibly after the Fan’s Forum meeting this week."

Was it raised at the FF meeting and has there been a response either then or since?

    Razil seemd to suggest not.
  • I have bought tickets for the lower covered end. No question about not going (although one ticket will become a spare if the match is postponed), however I feel cheesed off about not sitting in my usual seat in the East Stand.
So there you have it, a moaner but still going as usual.
  • The point is that if there is any saving at all to Charlton it's likely to be in three figures and it may actually be a net loss to the club to close it. Will elaborate later as I'm at Ipswich...

  • no I just don't have access to all trust members and all information immediately at hand at all times, and am busy on some other pressing issues, some not including CAFC.. I am sure someone will pick this up but if there any FF members handy perhaps they can add.

Yes, but you neglect to mention that you're in Devon or Cornwall if I recall correctly.

Slightly different choice than living locally.

Where is it you live again?

I'm sure I went there last year. Somewhere nice isn't it?
