World Championship
Round 2
Result
Ronnie O'Sullivan 13-10 Ding Junhui
Ding had his chances yesterday, didn't make the most of them and Ronnie pulled away today0 -
People laughing at O'Sullivan because of his post match comments.
I personally think its damn right wrong and out of order.
Someone should ask him why he hasnt won a ranking event this season?
How had Elliot Slessor beat him twice?
Why did he lose to Cahill last year in the World Championship?
There are some quality younger players and they may not have the natural ability he has, but to say they are rubbish and probably only good enough for the amateur game and he would have to lose and arm and a leg to drop out of the top 50 is fucking unprofessional1 -

Thought the comments were on the borderline of unacceptable myself. I can't think of many sports personalities that would have the nerve to say similar, but then it is just baiting his mates in the studio and/or repeating the messages Dr. Steve has drummed into his head.
That they segwayed immediately to McGill v Clarke in a total slogfest, missing colours off the spot did make me chuckle. Got a touch better since mind.0 -
Big big news from Q School
Michael White is out
2 time ranking winner
Former top 16 player
Wont be on the tour next season
I don't know what he needs to do and what he is going to do, but he needs to do something to recapture his form that got him into the top 16
He is still only 29 so has plenty of time on his side but he needs to go away and regroup now, because there is no way he should be off the tour
@WelshAddick may have gained Jamie Jones but he has lost Michael White

Ronnie's comments may have been disrespectful, BUT as someone who doesn't tend to watch much snooker these days, it really surprises me how many familiar names from years ago are still high up the rankings, and indeed the number of top players in the late 30s or 40s. In previous decades a wave of younger players would have dethroned the old guard, but that talent isn't there.
It's not as if historically snooker was dominated by older players, the oldest world champion Reardon was only 45, and that was in a different era. Steve Davis won his last world title at the age of 31, Hendry at the age of 30.0 - Sponsored links:

World Championship
Round 2
Result
Anthony McGill 13-12 Jamie Clarke0 -
Reckon something may come out after
Jamie Clarke looked confused when he congratulated McGill then as they walked off McGill was saying something to Clarke and had an very confronting face.
Wouldn't be surprised if something was said between the 2 as they walked off0 -
For Jamie Clarke, that played out exactly like our season0

This is how the final Q School event looks as well
Paul Davison v Rory McLeod
Haydon Pinhey v Jamie Wilson
Brian Ochoiski v Farakh Ajaib
Steven Hallworth v Alfie Burden
These players are 1 win away from a 2 year tour card0 -
That was painful to watch Clarke throw it away. He was the better player for most of the match.
I'm going for Trump, Maflin, O'Sullivan and Robertson but they are all hard to call.0 -
Farakj Ajaib 4-2 Brian Ochoiski
Farakh is 29 and a first time pro0 -
Jamie Wilson 4-3 Hayden Pinhey
Jamie is just 16 years old and comes from Havent and is now a professional snooker player for at least the next 2 years, again wi be very interesting to see what he can do0 -

Rory Mcleod 4-2 Paul Davison
That's right Mr Slow himself is back on the tour after a year off, thank god Peter Ebdon has retired and we don't have to worry about Mcleod v Ebdon0 -
Steven Hallworth 4-2 Alfie Burden
Steven is the final player through, he is back on the tour after dropping off in 2016
Not sure where this will leave Alfie Burden as he said a few months ago if he dropped off the tour that was it he wasnt doing Q School, then he done Q School and has failed to regain his tour card, so not sure if he goes on the Q Tour next year(the Q Tour is basically the same as thd challenge tour its just been rebranded) or does he retire from snooker and go back to football coaching0 -
Congratulations to these 12 players who have got through the gruelling Q School
Fan Zhengyi
Peter Devlin
Lee Walker
Simon Lichtenberg
Jamie Jones
Zak Surety
Oliver Lines
Ben Hancorn
Farakj Ajaib
Jamie Wilson
Rory McLeod
Steven Hallworth
Make the most of the next 2 years0 -
Felt bad for Clarke, he threw it away in the 24th and had a great chance on the 25th
Not familiar with either but McGill came across a small but unlikeable1 -
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-8609851/Robertson-calls-revamp-snooker-rules-Jamie-Clarke-Anthony-McGills-heated-exchange.html
McGill walked offstage after almost every frame (Clarke did so once) in the last session, this after a fairly long mid session break. Pure gamesmanship and the referee should have stopped it or at least had a word. As said above, McGill is unlikeable, a graduate from the John Higgins Jocky charm school0
