We might have had more shots, played better etc but they scored more goals. End of
Very frustrating but as Oggy said oh for one of those "boring, negative" displays when we don't concede.
We looked like the team from the start of the season making and being punished for them.
Don't blame the ref either. Clear pen to them and he booked them for timewasting. They are a snidy dirty side with class keeper and striker.
When Harriot and Stewart switched back to their natural sides they and we looked much better so why move them back at the start of the 2nd half.
Kermo looked a shadow of himself.
People slag off Pritchard and he has his faults but we missed him today.
So just to clarify then the best team always score more goals. Thought they were the winners.
Surely depends on your interpretation of football, I know we are not allowed to have a differing opinion to you but I thought we were the better team for most of the game today, some terrible ref decisions & a couple of poor mistakes at the back did not make us the worst team today end of!
No need to come out with personal crap about not being allowed an opinion different from mine. Just a pointless and totally false statement as you just proved.
The aim of the game is to score more than the other side. Leeds did that better than us today. Despite what SKY and the BBC might want people to think about possession and shots only GOALS count.
We did play some good stuff but they had a better keeper and Blackstock and McCormack were better strikers than we had. So they won. Just as when we go away, soak up pressure and win 1 - 0. We're not lucky, we deserve those wins because we scored more goals and that made us the better side.
Only crap on here is from you and once again your wrong, but as I am sure you will want the last word I'm off down the club now so poor out your crap all night.
Only goals count eh, well I never knew that and after being involved in football for over 30 years as well, you really are priceless.
Someone once said to me that the reason they didn't like football was because the best team didn't always win, whereas in a lot of other sports they did. Football isn't fair and that's why we love it and it evokes so much passion.
I don't often get annoyed with referees (it's the rugby playing background I guess) but I found myself abusing Mr Stroud after he gave that totally unjustified penalty against Harriott.
A real sucker punch straight after half time and credit to our lads for battling away until they got the equaliser.
We deserved a draw from that match and spending most of the game "chasing it" took its toll in the end contributing to their third goal I think and a dubious free kick leading to 4-2 definitely flattered Leeds. That said credit to their centre forward Ross Mc Cormack who emphatically showed the difference an instinctive goalscorer can make.
My only criticism of our players is the reluctance to make themselves available to receive the ball from throw ins and Hamer.
I just hope those lost two points don't cost us come the end of the season.
We played some good stuff but no team can give away three such cheap goals and hope to get a result. The third was particularly dismal and, in truth, the knockout blow. We were not going to come back a third time.
A game we should certainly have got something from but we ran into a keeper and striker in top form and our final ball into the box was generally not good enough.
We also looked a bit "loose" today and I doubt that we will see Harriot and Stewart starting together again.
Hopefully Wood will be back for the next game to shore things up and Yann will have got a couple of weeks training under his belt.
Much as I'd like an external scapegoat, I thought the ref was ok today - we made a rod for our own back, I'm afraid.
Let's hope we can give Donny a good seeing to after the QPR game - a very important game and we're most certainly due a home win.
Why is Wilson getting so much stick today? wasn't his best game but he didn't hide.
I am not blaming Wilson for the defeat but as a right back, he often forgets to do what a right back's main job is to be a right back, and keep the position. He is great at charging up the wing but then you have to ensure that there is cover - or he does that in a system that covers it (352). Stewart / Harriots are more attack minded players that don't do the covering so well.
Wiggins always mostly ensures that his runs are well timed and gaps are not left. Wilson is a great wing back. We miss Solly in a 442.
McCormack and Leeds exploited this weakness. Mind it is not Wilson's fault that the tactical system used didn't manage that. Easy to be wise after the event.
Why do Charlton sell boxes to Leeds fans? East Stand was its usual peaceful self until the 4th Leeds goal goes in, the box doors fly open and some old, fat blokes start to wind Charlton fans up for a row. Once they got some they closed the doors and blinds. Stewards are useless.
Name and Shame the offenders it was The Bexley Times who did it for the Millwall game as well, they are above the law
If it wasn't the Bexley Time they might like to consider their name being associated with allowing some one to let away fans in their box again and your right the stewards do nothing unless your 8 year old has a can of coke or someone smokes.
I understand (from the Bexley Times) that the club no longer has a deal with the paper. If the box isn't allocated on a seasonal basis it's likely the club won't have bothered to replace the signage.
Thanks Rick I think I will contact them as it reflects badly on them and I for one have had enough of it, I am going to speak to the club as well and see what they suggest, I suspect I will move as its the easiest solution
Why is Wilson getting so much stick today? wasn't his best game but he didn't hide.as for church why is he getting so much praise.absolutely shocking player.he is a centre forward and is paid to score goals.did he get paid today? hope not. Leon Clarke anyone?
Laughable comment. As if Sordell (for example) would have chased down the ball, turned two defenders inside out and squared for Jacko to tap into an empty net. Works his bollocks off and has limited ability, for sure, but "absolutely shocking"? Do me a favour.

Or fund Aguero's transfer yourself.

Just heard someone say they only had 4 shots on target? I can believe it. We should have been comfortably winning by half time. Don't even know where to start with the ref. Leeds fouled, cheated and time wasted their way to victory. Their players should be embarrassed.
I think cheated is a tad harsh, but agree with the rest, they certainly were " very professional " in their approach. I thought Charlton played some really good attacking football but were a little naïve in their defending. But at the end of the game the big difference between these two sides was Ross McCormack and Paddy Kenny.

I take it you didn't see our second goal then?
Absolutely I saw it but did you see his other 89mins and 30secs of play? I did and wasn't impressed.

Laughable comment indeed. Clearly not the only one who thought so either!
McCormack's a class act, we all know that, but he had the game of his life yesterday. Slating Church, despite him not doing anything wrong, is strange.
Don't quite agree with the Highbury in reverse comparison...Arsenal had about six chances and a goal in the first 15 minutes! We've had 5 or 6 chances in the whole game yesterday, which should be about the normal quota for a home team.
Negatives;
Defence doesn't look as sound without Wood (he defends the box brilliantly)
Lack of striker means we can rarely get comfortable in a game.
Kermorgant looked about 25% fit.
Sordell doesn't appear to be the answer.
Stephens was in and out (he'd been playing so well).
Stewart's poor crossing.
The low Charlton turn-out (had they all gone home or did they not come in the first place?)
Positives;
Entertaining game.
Two superb goals for Charlton.
Church showed brilliance for 2nd goal....didn't think he had that in his locker.
Jackson got a goal that will hopefully set him on a bit of a scoring run.
Stewart's amazing goal. Can't remember a better volley.
Stewart's quick feet, that suddenly open up space (for a poor cross...)
Wiggins' performance (looks back to his best)
Conclusion;
Get John Obika signed in January and we should beat relegation.
Hopefully Woods back soon, seem to miss him at the back. Brings out the best in Morrison. An organiser and we seemed to lack that defensively yesterday. Kenny is a w'ker but had a great game / was lucky but for our lack if goals it was defensively where we threw it sway. First half Leeds were the worst team I have seen this season.

Just giving my opinion which I'm allowed to on here.I've read time and time again on here the McLeod bashing the Leon Clarke bashing and that is fine is it? Clarke had one bad game for us and was given stick, goes to another club and scores for fun.league one player yes but surely he should of been given a chance in the championship.havnt seen church have one good game and a lot of people around me have said the same.so I suppose there is a devided opinion about church.

For Christ's sake. Of course you're allowed your opinion. Just like everyone else is entitled to criticise yours. It's sort of how forums work, no need to get so precious about it. I like Church; he works hard, he's scored a few goals for us already and he seems willing to run himself into the ground for the team. If we had the funds I'd like a more clinical striker but given the £0 we had to spend we're lucky to have such a committed player. Do you really think Leon Clarke, him of the goals for Chesterfield should have been given a chance in the Championship? Do you really? Come on.
