Huge collapse from the England batsmen. Shocking from Trott, Pietersen, Bell, Prior & Root. Carberry played really well & was unlucky. They just got bogged down, scored no runs & panicked. We have lost 5 wickets for 7 runs & we could be all out for less than 100.
Not surprised at all with this bar Bell in the summer our batting was well below par.People saying we will win the series because our batsmen won't fail again, why the haven't had any cricket this the series finished, Cook, Trott are woefully out of form. IMO opinion this has been coming big time, we won 2 very close games in the summer and one washout when we were looking like losing another test.Think we may struggle to retain the ashes.
Indeed oohaah. They kept saying 3-0 and didn't even play well but Aussies few runs away from winning one and rain saved us in another or would have lost 2-1
Thats what I just said, why we didn't get after Lyon I will never know. Aussies got after Swann, we just got bogged down and gave away soft soft wickets.
The difference in pace between our fast bowlers and there's is big, need it to swing, if Johnson continues to bowl straight he is going to be a major factor.
Petersen just got done by a Aussie fan, who asks him to sign a bat. As KP goes to do it the fan pulls the bat away picks up his pint and laughs at him. Cringeworthy KP
Some people already reaching for the rope. We are in a shit position but we've played one innings in a 5 match series. This is England, it's the ashes....anything can and wil happen.
With a current lead of 183 the only thing that will save this test for us is the weather
You would think so but this isn't a sub 300 wicket. Both sets of batsmen have played it as such. Big mountain to climb but last time we played here we did score 517-1 having been 260 all out in the first inns ;-)
Typical England.had the opposition by the bollocks and yet again we let them back in the game.we come to bat started well and collapsed.how the hell did they survive there collapse and go onto make a reasonable score.no balls England. What's happened to cook and trott? Also Anderson.am I the only person who thinks he an average bowler when the ball doesn't swing.as for swann is he past it? Wheres minty ha ga.overall a shit day so need to back our ideas up next 3 days.

Have a word with yourself about Anderson.
The bloke has just bowled his balls off on an absolute road in sweltering conditions and helped knock over the Aussies for 295, got two wickets and bowled tight.
His batsmen then capitulate in 30 overs - including losing 6-9 at one stage - meaning Anderson gets a break from bowling of about three fucking hours and is back out there in 30 degree + heat and nasty humidity to bowl in their second innings.
Not surprising he looked a bit average really is it?
....but to be honest although it is very humid at the moment it doesn't feel like its really going to rain that heavily, we have not had much rain at all this year so far.
Now would be a good time for the drought to break.

Huge, huge over reaction. We've had a shocking day. We do pretty much every Ashes series!

Hopefully this'll give em a kick up the arse because the summer series was closer than the scoreline
Sounds like a repeat of the bad old days when batting collapses were the norm.
We've lost this
Cook or Trott have to shape up and protect the middle-order - that was a key factor in winning over here last time.
Best we can do is hope for rain on Days 3 and 4 (which is forecast) and then bat properly 2nd Innings.
I mean, letting Nathan Lyon take two wickets in two balls, both pathetic bat-pad catches is an embarrassment.
