Where abouts in the north stand is it going to be?
There is an area at the top of the stand, that isn't used on match days, I think it may have been used as classrooms. This maybe the area they are going to use.

The old CARE offices, yes.
If they are using this area, AFKA will have to stand on one side and you on the other.
Perhaps the club should ask the current players to donate a small portion of their wages to this venture? Tell Solly to shop in Primark instead of M&S for a week. ;-)
Strikes me that this would be a nice thing for the Charlton museum to have given the amazing statistical work Colin Cameron did for the club over many years.
We need a rich benefactor to step forward. Any volunteers?!
It would be a complete tragedy to lose this collection. Would RM bankroll a loan? It might give us time for example to get 600 of us to charge into the Valley to save Colin's collection, that would be £25.00 each. I'm up for it.
Fortune, I think the Club has every programme since the wat but can't swear to that. That is one of the problems of never having a central point to store and record what we do and don't have. Hence the idea of the virtual museum
Already had some great offer including the clothes pegs and numbers from the Valley 1985.
If we can buy or someone can buy it for us then that would be wonderful but the stuff belongs to CC's family and like NLA I hope they get a good price for it.
Henry have you considered a "friend of the museum" scheme? Maybe with a few different tiers -
£10 a year - get your name on the website and a "friends" book in the museum with a personal message £25 a year - as £10 but get a glossy book hardcopy of the website listings with photos £50 a year - as £25 but invite to an annual open evening with wine and special guests in the museum £40m - as £50 but get the football club thrown in for free
I doubt the above (well apart from the last one ) would bring in too much money but if it meant an extra £1000-2000 income a year for the museum might be worth considering?

An excellent spot. I will hopefully be attending the auction at Sotherby's on the 5th and will report back on how CC's collection goes. May have a cheeky bid myself on some excellent Charlton items.
There is lots of excellent programmes in the auction which probably have never appeared on programme dealers lists before. The auction house have bundled most of them into big bundles and in my opinion will mean they end in the hands of dealers. But if you cannot afford them in their bundles keep your eyes peeled because hopefully they will appear somewhere for sale as individuals. Shirty would be very interested in any report on buyers if you are going. Always handy to know which dealers they went to.

No problem I can do that, if it's the same old faces from Programme fairs 20/25 years ago. Found 2 other related Charlton items not from CC collection on auction as well.

Shirty, are there photos of those other items? Can't afford to buy them but at least we can have a record that they exist. So much stuff out there that no one but the owner knows about.
Maybe someone wants to buy them all and then loan them to the museum? Maybe someone rich, charitable, honourable, etc - maybe an ex - or current - director who may happen to be reading this?

But if there are any benefactors out there we'd love to hear from you.
We are speaking to CC's family though.

We're trying to work out the cost v the benefits so your ideas are great.
