FGR 1-0 Tranmere after 10 mins (Woolery). FGR looking more composed footballing team so far.

    Good support for Tranmere.
  • Tranmere 1-1 (Jennings). Fine goal, 21 mins.
  • Another cracking goal, Doidge for FGR 2-1 slightly against run of play, 41 mins.

43 mins- defensive error. Woolery scores his 2nd for FGR, 3-1.
  • Great shot for the second goal.
  • Doidge looks alright - 24, over 6 foot and welsh. No doubt not good enough for us though, I'm sure we'll be buying Belgium's finest this summer :/
  • Ps I almost moved to Stroud a couple years ago but the move fell through - got a soft spot for FGR as I'd had the intention of getting a ST there. I'm enjoying this match so far!

All sorts of blunders in FGR defence, but they escape! Very open game now.

Also got a soft spot for forest green. Used to visit my uncle who lived in nailsworth. Lovely area.

3-1. So, the fluorescent greens make it into what the BT commentators called the "Promised Land" of the EFL. How long before they get their chance to play the mighty Addicks?

Not long the way both clubs are going!

Not soon as we could pass next year.
  • I would hope more people take the time out to watch non league (when they can). It is proper honest football. I'm a convert

    Me too
  • Third that.

It's British football - something that gradually got lost after the Premier League came into being, and we dropped limiting the amount of foreign players in a team

Perhaps I am a product of being born in 1970, but I like 80's Brit footie - the Charlton of Lee, Shirtliff, Bolder, Humphrey, Reid, Walsh, Melrose, Thompson. Aizlewood, Walsh, Hales, Madden. Robinson etc etc
  • Nowadays, I don't miss having a multitude of camera angles on TV, either. You only get a few for National League games on BT. When anything that could be controversial happens, you just have to shrug it off, the same as the players.
  • Kent football looking strong, Ebbsfleet, Bromley, Maidstone, Dover all in national league next season

Surprised some of our 'London borough of Bromley" posters haven't been on here to complain about them being classed as kent.
    They are all postmen!

  • @BDL looks like he has emptied the trophy of champagne!!
  • When did Ebbsfleet win the FA cup?
  • That trophy is bloody heavy!

I didn't empty the champagne, Danny Kedwell did and he emptied the boardroom of its alcohol as well!
  • Since when was Harold Bishop an Ebbsfleet fan?

Someone is going to get a slap!

Err, you can't say that. David Moyes is on a disciplinary for that !

That's what alcohol does to a man.
  • New play off rules in National league and National League North and South.

    Winners go up automatically.

2nd & 3rd go through to play off semis.

4th, 5th, 6th, 7th play knock out competition to qualify for semi final place.

Potentially 7th place will give promotion over 2nd!
  • It'll be like the Belgian league. Everyone except the bottom club can get into Europe. I'm not a huge fan of the play offs on a good day. This is just daft.

What if there is another issue like with Hampton this season though.

If the teams that finish 7th / 8th / 9th dont have the Ground Regulations for the National League does that mean the team finishing 10th get into them instead? - If so that'll be a joke that 10th place could end up promoted!!
