There's some other changes coming the season after next (2018/19) to cut down on travelling costs - there'll be a midland league to sit alongside the Isthmian, Southern and Northern Premier below Conference North/South, and a new division at Greenwich Borough/Thamesmead Town/VCD's level. So there'll be some messing around with promotion/relegation in the season to come.
Isthmian League will also have a new sponsor next season after having Ryman for ages.

I didn't know that. The danger is that more teams from the north or south get dragged up/down to the Midlands every other week to fill the Midlands league. You can please everyone, of course. The teams in the South West have always had that problem.
It's not written in stone, clubs have to agree to it and there was some opposition.
They wanted the playoffs to be at a neutral venue this season, their proposal was to play both finals on the same day at Milton Keynes. That did not go down well with many clubs, the most vocal being FC United. So it was dropped.

How about a complete revolution in the promotion / relegation process - the bottom two get relegated and the top two get promoted !!

Top two over the season deserve to go up... If you have to have a play off system. Why not 2nd team straight to the final and home advantage. 4th plays 5th at home, winner plays 3rd at 3rds ground. Winner goes through to the final.
I see Ebbsfleet are venturing up to play the mighty Hendon FC on 25th July. Get yourselves on the Jubilee Line to Kingsbury and get down to Silver Jubilee Park. The clubhouse is ramshackle but the natives are friendly.
I use it if I'm going to Wembley. The Green Man's the only decent Wembley pub I've found & JJ Moons at Kingsbury is 3 mins on the underground to Wembley Park, going in the opposite direction to the masses coming from London.
Heard a rumour that Cody McDonald is signing for Ebbsfleet. A cracking signing at thst level if true
Cody McDonald has been offered a new contract by Gills - dunno if he has accepted it yet - however I would be surprised if he would drop 2 divs into non league when he could stay in the league, unless of course it was serious dough
Drove past the disused old home of Kettering Town yesterday , fairly large old none league ground, about 5k capacity I think, another sad relic from when football seemed a lot more fun.

Rockingham Road, went there for a pre-season in about 2009.

Shame that game doesn't happen, ideal for me, still we chip in a bit at Rushden these days. Would love a game there.
I was there in 1983 with Dartford - cracking 4-4 draw with a last minute Dartford equaliser. We still went down at the end of the season, but it was my second away match ever with the Darts, and what a match. Dartford's second goal was scored by ex Charlton youngster Richard Wilson who was I believe on loan from some Swedish club. Great pub next door to the massive stand, but a sign of things to come, it was no longer owned by the club when we were there. Great club, and always have a soft spot for Kettering.
That Pub has been a bowling alley for years, and the houses got closer and closer , there's a small chance it can be saved as it's not a massive footprint in terms of land, they have some backing so maybe.

If it's the Richard Wilson who played in the late 70's, I don't think he came through the youth.
We were walking home from school past The Hollies in Halfway St (before they were houses) and a guy was knocking golf balls around on the field.
We started taking the piss and he asked if we wanted a go to see if we could do better. Started talking to him and he said he wasn't worried about a few kids laughing at him, as he used to play for Chelsea and made his debut at Old Trafford (I think).
Once he told us his name, I recognised it and spoke about Charlton a bit. Was a nice guy but shit at golf.

Dates match up it seems in terms of age
