I Went to see Cray Valley(PM) v Beckenham Town Which finished 3-0 to Cray Valley (PM)
Cray Valley were the much better team, Cray started the game brightly with some nice passing and by keeping a tight back line fustrated Beckenham who couldn't get going, after about 10 minutes Cray Scored The opening goal from a corner which was headed into the top giving the Beckenham goalie no chance. The Beckenham goalie was taken off just before the end of the 1st half after a collision with a Cray player.
2nd half Beckenham came into the game more and started brightly creating a few chances but then Cray hit Beckenham on the break and the number 10 James Chambers scored a great 2nd goal for Cray giving the stand in keeper no chance, drilling the ball low and hard passed the keeper.
At 2-0 Beckenham kept going and pressed Cray by pushing up from the midfield and although they had a couple of chances they couldn't get that much needed goal. Chambers then scored another goal for Cray after a mix up in the Beckenham Penalty area, it was game over at 3-0 and another win for Cray. Cray recently Beat Ashford United 3-2 who along with Beckenham Town are both in the top 6 of the Southern Counties East Football League.
An enjoyable and much deserved and hard fought home win for Cray Valley, Beckenham showed great Spirit and kept going to the end.
Went to Bognor v Hendon. Pitch was so good, there wasn't a mark on it at the end of the game. Even the bit where the linesman runs up and down was in good order. Bognor were good and won 4-1.
Heard that Ebbsfleet have asked Welling for permission to speak to Jamie Day.I Fully expect him to be their next manager now
I Mentioned this on the Steve Brown thread, Jamie will take charge of Welling for the game tomorrow at Telford,His Final game for the wings. Barry ashby going with him.
Will be a blow. Not only because what he continues to achieve as a manager but he's also been one of their best players this season. Hope they get a decent payout for him (ebbsfleet have got plenty of money)
I cannot see Welling agreeing to him taking up the post until after the Trophy tie is decided. if he is unveiled as the new Ebbsfleet manager tomorrow, I'd imagine they'll be a gentleman's agreement in place that he won't take charge until after Saturdays game.
