  • Does this mean he will go back to playing 100% now?
Or were others referring to a different player?

    Anyway

I have always backed that gay marriage stuff.
    hahah, very funny Ormy.

    And follow up comments.

Well done Solly. And really cant we stop the petty scoring. Its irritating.

  • Yippee -i-ay, yippee-i-oh...
  • Great news. I'll enjoy the good news. Solly is a great player.

  • Great news. Powell and other important players next please.
  • OK Len, you owe the upbeats £10!! Reckon you've got your money's worth though. Great news, hopefully more to come.
  • Great news hope he got a well deserved pay rise

He's already paid up. see the other Solly thread.

  • Excellent news. We either keep or at least get a decent fee for one of our best players and an anomaly in the pay structure is eliminated. And a happy player is more likely to be an effective player

I'm smiling at all the "told you there was nothing wrong, told you so, everything is great" posts though. We shall see. The serious concerns about long term funding and commitment to the club from TJ and MS remain in my mind. The August Sky TV money has been well spent for sure. Let's wait and see how the whole season pans out.

Don't know why this always has to turn into us vs them. Board haters vs head in the sanders. I just think its worth commenting that they've done something right after all the pessimistic threads we have to endure.
  • 4 years???

the board has gone mad, throwing OUR money at an overated right back who is nicking a living as a pro footballer. what about his left back performance against Millwall?

slept his way to 2 player of the seasons in a row.

    words fail me.

    just to add balance.

Johnny Jackson was happy with the news then? :-D

Yup. Meldrews vs Football fans. If you analyse the footballing related decisions taken by this board and ignore the Meldrews, it's been a good 3 years in this club's history.

  • Great news.

Thanks to Solly for signing up. The heart and determination he has is second to none and the way he throws himself into tackles is often worth the match fee on its own.

Genuinly one of my favorite players to watch over the last 10yrs which is unusual given he is a defender.

I really want to see how he will fare in the PL and hope to get that opportunity whilst he wears a CAFC shirt.

Brilliant news, now to get Hamer, Kermorgant, Wiggins, Morro, Cousins and Jackson on new deals.

    And Chrissy Powell himself!
Yeah c'mon sign Chrissy Powell up , that'll make the fans happy!
I would dearly love for CP to get a new contract but I fear it is not going to happen. With the sale of the club in mind, I think TJ/MS will want to give potential buyers the flexibility to appoint their own manager, without a compensation issue arising.
    A very insightful post Davo!

    Robson and Jerome.
Looks like his 'agent' on the right handside got himself a good deal, 10 per cent commission?

    I think that's Zheng Zhi.
  • i think its fair to say i don't like the board but this is one big masterstroke. i logged on saw bbc sport and went to championship then saw a pic of solly, scrolled down and made my day woop woop
  • To be me it's great news that Solly has signed for 4 years; do you think he would have signed for so long had he the negativity of some posters on here. If he was worried he could easily have let his contract run out. The important thing is our best player believes in our club and we should all take optimism from that!
  • What a great bit of news to come into after a tough day. Lets hope there's more contract signings to follow!
  • Has Wiggins been sold yet?
  • This is our equivalent of Villa's Benteke.

    Is that his agent?

lets just hope its not his stylist.
I think we're safe on that one!
  • Fantastic news......nuff said.
  • I can't believe we've signed Chris Solly on a new 4 year contract , i thought we were going to let him leave for free next Summer , just so we could have something to moan about?

Don't worry, we'll find something else to moan about.

Well pleased to see this bit of news this morning. Made a dull day at work more bearable

  • So happy! Couldn't believe it when I saw it.
