  • Does this mean some sort of money has come to the club as we have been reluctant to give more thab 1/2 year deals recently
  • Panic over :-))
    Great news!
  • Hope he got a nice pay rise. Good news.
  • yesssss .. great news .. hopefully this'll put an end to all the 'he's going' speculation
  • Best signing of the summer, by far. Absolutely delighted with this.
  • Hope he got a nice pay rise. Good news.

Definitely deserved it! Hope they didnt put a release clause in it too!
  • Would he have committed himself to 4 years if he thought CP might not be here after next summer?
  • Great news. That is all

    Great news.

I've thought all along, that those criticising the board re the contracts of players were wrong.

If they've got no transfer value then there's no great rush.

If they have, then now's the time to get them resigned and they are.

I think the board are being very sensible, in this regard.

  • Paves the way for us to get good money for him when sold in the summer a la Shelvey.

  • Just need confirmation of Yann's year extension being triggered by appearances with no break clauses and I will be a very happy chappy.
  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

hopefully he'll stay, if he doesn't then at least we should be able to get a decent price for him.
  • Great news - now the window is closed and with the international break it is the time to have the contract discussions. Although I wouldn't be surprised if these conversations have been ongoing for quite a while.

Wiggins, Morrow and Hamer next please (and Cousins if he isn't already on a long term deal)
  • Brilliant news, now to get Hamer, Kermorgant, Wiggins, Morro, Cousins and Jackson on new deals.
  • EXCELLENT NEWS!
  • Superb news. I'd also like to see Paul Hart get a new deal aswell as the players that have been mentioned. Academy is making real strides since he became a part

  • Brilliant may have been the board's plan all along to get past the transfer deadline and then start tying down some of the longer term assets. Could they seriously sit by whilst the value of the playing staff depreciated to nothing? Wonder who will be next?

    Amen to that, nla

  • Fantastic news - now give Yann, JJ and SCP at least one year extensions and I'll be a happy man

This would have been tied up before the transfer deadline.

    Great news, well pleased.

  • Superb news, two years from now I believe he actually will be better than John Terry.
  • bloody hell. great news. well done all, including the board.
  • Great news. Let's hope he finds his top form again very soon.

Lets not speak too soon. We still have plenty more players - and a manager - to renew otherwise we'll be left with just Solly, Wilson, Church, Pigott and Harriott next summer.

Great news for the club though and even if he is sold we'll at least be able to command a decent transfer fee for him. Top player.
