Sold months later. Call me cynical but that's the first thought that went through my head. But, as I said, we'll at least be able to command a decent transfer fee for him.

Sold six months later...but at twice the price Chelsea were going to pay for him.
  • Massive news this!! Boom

    Unlikely at the moment

If Solly takes us to the dizzy heights Parker took us to then he can leave with my blessing.

About four and a half years IIRC.

For many years now, the club invariably announces most contract extensions in September.
You've only got to look at past seasons - Solly himself, Kermorgant, Jacko, Waggy, etc

I pointed out this earlier in the summer, at the time when many posters were beside themselves with anxiety.
I don't suppose anybody bothers to read my posts.

    Can't blame them.

    ;o)

  • Oh my god, new contracts signed just after the window closed. If only someone had predicted that was going to happen.
Those damn board members dragging our club down.

Oh look the board are damned if they do and damned if they don't. That's a suprise.

    .
  • Top news this, well done the board.

Except he signed it last week.
  • When did Solly meet Becks?
  • Reams was right ...... I'm going to sit down
  • Well done to the board. Its clear they had a plan all along. Nice to see some structure.

  • Rumours are that his agent was not happy with the Jimenez pay per height clause.

Cryptic clue there as to our new owners !!!

  • Sack the board.
  • Great news...fair play to Reams
  • "Rotten to the core" apparently.

Well done the board. Well done CP. Well done Solly. Well done Charlton.
  • This is the most significant thing that we have done for a long time. Totally throws the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of what state we think the club is in? He wouldnt have signed it full stop if there was any indication of a horror story in progress.
  • Just need the Carlos Slim takeover to go through now!

    5/9
The extension of the two-time player of the year and academy graduate comes just two days after the Addicks also agreed terms with homegrown forward Joe Pigott until 2016.
    4/9
Charlton’s academy product Joe Pigott spoke of his joy after signing a new three-year deal with the club on Tuesday

But I bow to your superior knowledge over the OS.
  • Excellent news. We either keep or at least get a decent fee for one of our best players and an anomaly in the pay structure is eliminated. And a happy player is more likely to be an effective player

I'm smiling at all the "told you there was nothing wrong, told you so, everything is great" posts though. We shall see. The serious concerns about long term funding and commitment to the club from TJ and MS remain in my mind. The August Sky TV money has been well spent for sure. Let's wait and see how the whole season pans out.
