Sad to see Waggy go after watching him grow through the club. I looked right at his face when he had his shot cleared off the line last week and he looked absolutely gutted, stearing skyward and cleanching his fists and then looking over at CP, maybe he knew his fortune and any goal that can improve your goals per game ratio are going to help in his position. But I wouldn't count on people coming into replace those who have gone, it is just as likely to be a cost cutting exercise.

I really hope you are wrong on that last bit as we will be screwed if not as not enough decent depth in the right area's especially up front and 3 centre backs is not enough IMO. I am sure thats not what Powell wants either, unless he knows of some more Solly's/Harriotts coming through who will make an impact next season.
I am with CE I have very much enjoyed seeing Fuller in a Charlton shirt and he has delivered certainly to my expectations. It was a "high risk" signing not in terms of ability or attitude but in terms of fitness - in his last 2 seasons at Stoke he started just 12 league games and there was no way of knowing how he would last a season.
We should not forget for much of his time at Stoke he was a one man band. Pulis stuck nine players behind the ball and they just slung it forward and let Riccardo get on with it. He started 20 games for us which is a testimony to him and our support staff but even then two games a week was probably beyond him.
He gives me the impression he is very much his own man but doubt he would present a problem for the manager and coaching staff.
Signing him for another year is however another decision set. Another year of wear and tear, and another season of he and the fitness staff managing his injuries. If he were fully fit the decision would be a no brainer but if he were fully fit would he even be wearing our shirt?
The decision makers see him day in and day out and had to decide if he would be able to deliver a sustainable contribution commeasurate with the cost involved (not only his salary but the cost of a loan player to cover). It is harsh but we have seen (and paid for) more than a few players of his seniority whose performances for a variety of reasons have sadly "fallen of the edge".

His presence will be missed I wish him well.

The main thing to come out of that article is that the Port Vale chairman has a simply brilliant name.
