Good luck to all of them! I asked kerkar after bristol city if he thought he would be staying sounded subdued and down! Liked waggy great guy! Fuller scored some wonder goals and won us some games without really trying lol Taylor good player properly heading for devon i think! Thanks for all Ur efforts for cafc
On the positive side, Taylor would not be released without Dervite signing and similarly for Kerkar/ Harriot.
Fuller did not do enough and hope that this means we sign Obika, but must stress again how much Piggot has come on this season and he may be blooded in the first team squad, via the bench next season.
BWP will also leave and I guess we will be looking to off load Hollands,Evina and Green.
Really disappointed for Waggy, but not surprised. Said on Saturday he was playing like someone who knew it was his last game for the club, and was obviously desperate to score. As others have said he always gave 110% and had the right 'Charlton' mentality, but the fact is he wasn't getting games. Hopefully he can move on and get regular first-team football elsewhere.
Similar for Taylor - he was a bit part of last year's winning team, and although he hasn't featured as much this year I get the feeling that he is a good guy to have around the squad, and CP has sort of alluded to this in his remarks. In all honesty we can cope without him on the pitch, I only hope we don't miss him too much off it. Again, I would hope for his sake this might give him an opportunity at regular first-team appearances.
Fuller I think would have been worth holding on to at a decent price, but the rumours I have heard about his wages (which may or may not be true) are eye-watering. If he really is being paid as much as rumoured, then I think it's too much given his injury problems, and we can probably replace him for a lot less. That said, he's made a huge contribution and I sure moves on with the good wishes of most supporters.
As for Kerkar, I always thought he was a bit hot and cold. At times he was unplayable, like when he came on at Forest, but at other times he was disappointingly poor. I don't think you can afford such inconsistency in the Championship, but again I would thank him for his contribution and wish him well in the future.

Not sure what you've heard but I understand in the region of £10k per week. Probably one of the lowest "highest paid players at the club" in the league.
Thanks to all four for their efforts, as they have all played a part in our rise in their own ways.
Very sad to see Wagstaff and Fuller go. Wagstaff would run through brick walls for Charlton and will always get a very warm reception back at The Valley.
I was a big fan of Fuller - always exciting to watch and was capable of changing a game within in seconds on his day. His performances away at Ipswich and Crystal Palace were two of the best individual displays of the season. Sounds like it was a decision based upon wages more than anything, which is fair enough.

But how many other "highest paid players" have spent more than half of the season out through injury?
Good luck them to all, they have all played there part in helping this club move forwards. I personally would have liked to have kept Fuller, as on his day he is a match winner on his own, however in Powell I trust, and I assume he has a replacement lined up as we a

The problem with Fuller's injuries, is that they seem to be the niggly ever present ones, rather than the "broken leg 3 months out then come back" type, so you can never count on him to play many games consecutively. The same applies to Haynes too, sadly.

He played in 31 league games this season having signed after the first few. Not especially fair.
In a way all four have contributed over the last 2 seasons, but I can understand why they need to move on, even if they don't know themselves. Hope we don't end shipping loads of goals from Fuller next season. Good luck to all four. I can see Evina and Green going as well, as both will want game time. But I trust in CP on this, he's shown he can get the best out of a team.
the thing with Fuller is a combination of a high salary and persistant injuries. We haven't the finances to pay a reported high salary if he isn't going to play 30-40 games a season.
like other posts on here I would have kept Waggy & Taylor, but again, if the budget is tight we can't have players sitting around & not playing regularly.
all the best to all of them ... they have all contributed to where we are now ... Taylor and Waggy will be very beneficial for whichever club gets them
No real surprises and most of the posts here pretty much say it all, except:
1. Lovely tribute from CP for Waggy. Clearly, our thoughts that letting him go would be for the lad's own good are how CP sees it too.
2. Good sign that CP feels confident he will have the financial clout to sign better replacements, either wage budget for frees or some transfer kitty.
Seems that Waggy and Taylor are being released to go onto something better for themselves as they can't be guaranteed enough football with us. That's nice to see as it shows they're being let go out of respect for them as players rather than being shoved off as not good enough. I'm sure if they were willing to sit on the bench or out of the squad then Powell would be happy to keep them but they're not so it's the best route for them to take. I really like the pair of them but they're both at an age where they will want to play - one coming to an end, the other hitting his prime years - and it's best for both parties. We can use the money freed up to make some signings and try and get a better calibre of player. The ideal is that the players who got us to 9th in the league become squad players, kept out by even better players, so there's not a lot of scope for keeping on players who couldn't get into the current line-up. I'd look forward to seeing any of these lot at The Valley again. As long as they're not at Millwall.
Not a reason to retain him, obviously, but Scott has been an absolutely outstanding ambassador for the club in the community, with only Chris Powell (and to some extent Rob Elliot) in the past to compare with him for willingness to engage with the public in recent times.
He's been a credit to the club in that respect and I am sorry it hasn't worked out on the pitch for him. Don't dissent from what has been said by others. Fuller is clearly a financially driven decision, which it is hard for us to second guess. You can't really assess departures until you see to what extent they are replaced.
All did well for us so I wish them all the best. Fuller won us some points this season, Kerkar with some assists and Waggy and Taylor for their contributions over the past few seasons.
Shame for Waggy as I think he is still improving hope he goes on to make a success at another club.
I'm sorry to lose them all but for different reasons. Waggy was a favourite of mine, a better ambassador for the club will be hard to find, but I just have a feeling that he will do very well at another club. Sometimes things can get too cosy and kicks up derrieres eventually prove to be just what was needed. My thanks to all of them, I wish them all well and very much hope that they will be happy and successful.

Fuller might have been worth another year, but he's never looked fully fit and isn't going to get any better.

BWP is with Brentford still, so i presume CP will wait till after the playoff final?
