  • Fuller is a luxury given our financial position - too risky to keep him. Odd bursts of brilliance this season but not a key player.

This. Give Smith a chance and get Obika back.
  • Shame for Waggy but the right decision. He will go on to have a good career and I can only wish good things for him. A true 110% player who always gave his all and having come through the Youth would have had a real affinity for the club.

Taylors contibution in our record season is undoubted and he will always be welcome back for that. The right career choice for him & us in letting him go as at his age he needs to play as much as he can.

Fullers wages are just too much I suspect for a player who has had injuries, is a year older and despite some great performances also had some poor ones (given his injuries that is to be expected so this is not a dig).

Kerkar never did it for me and to quote Powell...It’s quite easy to forget Salim’s contribution this season! Wish him all the best, to be fair to the guy he had a number of assists and played out of position for us so never let us down, just wasn't for me.

Shame Salim's place on the bench last Saturday wasn't given to one of the kids IMO.
  • I add my best wishes to them all .. Fuller was a bit of a disappointment, I had such high hopes when he arrived.... Just as he is fit(ish) and playing well, he is released .. oh well
  • It's a shame but it's with good intentions. Taylor was mr dependable and only ever had 1 bad game ( Notts county at home erghh) Waggy i can't fault but as said he needs games if he's to continue to progress i feel he'll be a mainstay for a upper league one team Fuller im not bothered about he has had moments but if we can replace him with someone who fits the model of our ethos i feel it's a good decision salim kerkar will be remembered for the most awkward footballer i've ever seen but somehow producing assists, hope they all do well.
  • Hughes hasn't been released then?

surely, like Euell, there's half an eye on turning him into a coach

  • Very sorry to see Salim go ...he had a hard time getting into the team at Rangers and then the same here. I think he was a bit of class and given a regular slot would have been a major force. But I guess its in Chris we trust .
  • I wonder if Waggy will go to Gillingham?
  • I wonder if Waggy will go to Gillingham?

    that is my educated guess

That's the main thing I took out of today. BWP will be released when he returns from Brentford, but Hughesy seems to be staying on.

  • A little disappointed about Fuller but I'll wait and see what happens with regards to a replacement. If we can find someone fitter, better and cheaper, I'll be very excited.
  • Is the statement/comment on the website something to be commended ? all very transparent and some good words from CP, such a shame a bout waggy but onward and upward ,dont think we should underestimate the potential of the youngsters coming through ...id see Hughes as a player who can help out first team in an emergency but primarily supporting the the under 21 squad next year

He's doing his coaching badges this summer so you could be right.
  • Fuller had the right arse on him on Sunday night.

    Has Gower gone ?
  • Very nice words from CP on each player released. Made an effort to summarise contributions made.
Shame we couldn't get a fee for Green and keep Waggy as 2nd choice right mid. I guess we have Wilson there too once he remembers he's a good player!
  • Shame re Waggy and Taylor, as we were bereft of players with their attitude for so long, but a huge thankyou and the best of luck to them.
  • I'm probably being sentimental, but I feel that Waggy could still improve so I'm sorry to see him go. Maybe he is too cosy and needs a change. I know very little, as I think I have proved on here, but I think he will eventually be a regular Championship player.

Good luck to all the released players - they have all played a part in our recent revival.
  • I wonder if Waggy will go to Gillingham?

Bradford maybe if they get promoted, bigger potential than the Gills I would think. There might be some surprise about who'll be interested in him. I wouldn't rule out a Championship side just yet.
  • I hope we keep Evina. Very decent squad option on that side I think.

  • Wasn't it Burnley who were said to be interested in signing him not so long ago?
  • I like Fuller but if (and its a big if) he was on anything like £10k pw then it's just a luxury we can afford.

Really? Seemed nice as pie to me on Thursday and Sunday.

Was going to say the same! Was one of the players who surprised me the most on Thursday eve, couldn't have been a nice, more down to earth bloke! Spent ages chatting to all of us.

    Yes it was.

Can see him going to Bournemouth.

Gutted to see Taylor go. Quality CB.
  • Personally would add Cort to the list as well.

Think Evina will go as I can't see him playing second fiddle to Wiggins again.

What about Green and Hollands? Did they sign 3 year deals?
  • If it's Bournemouth they'll probably go for Waggy and end up with Stephens
  • Waggy's going to a team in the League 1 Play-offs
  • Good luck to all, but sad to see Scotty go....if he can find consistency he will be a formidable player in the future.

Struck me he didn't want to be there. Which in fairness he probably didn't !

He did sign my shirt with "one love" under his signature though ......
