  • absolutely buzzing! walked back into changing room after my own team's 1-0 win and let out a hell of a cheer when i saw that. Amazing! Quality for all the boys and chuffed for SCP - HE IS MY HERO.
  • I missed today. Had free tickets for the emirates in the posh bit. Unreal stadium with free booze at half time and a great 2nd half but its no Barnsley away.

Would have loved to have been there today. Got a text after every goal and was shouting out 4, 5, 6. Brilliant result. Well done boys.
  • Erm. Not sure what to say. 6 goals and I was welling up. I even asked Norman and he's not seen that. For me this will go down as a grandkid story game, I hope. Quality.
  • EI EI EIO UP THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE WE GO................
  • Avoid relegation = good season, mid table = great season, anything better = SCP manager of the year.

Posting without reading great performance early goal and all downhill after that. The biggest away win I have witnessed in 55 years of following the team. Men against boys Barnsley were poor very poor but you can only beat what is in front f you and we showed no mercy. A great team performance and any doom and gloom merchants still out there RELAX WE ARE SAFE now I'm getting on it :0)
  • We have had a mini break at Alton Towers and thought, as we were up north, that we should extend our stay for a night and go to Barnsley ... What a bloody great decision that was! I would have been driving down back and hearing the goals go in on 5 live, doesn't bare thinking about!

Cannot believe how classy we looked, we are playing the ball on the ground! Finally we are seeing the ball at Kermy's feet, he's good with it their, he really is!

We started with a bang! Pritchard pounced on a spilled shot, even he couldn't miss that one! The first mistake of a keeper that in honesty had an absolute shocker! This was quickly made two, to the wild rejoice of the travelling faithful, who by all accounts, were superb!

Wiggins, who played fantastically, put in a stunning cross for Kermy at the very start of the second half, much to ease the doubt of the fans thinking we would crumble! Callum *twinkle toes* Harriot looked extremely lively, contract extension please Mr Powell. He raced into the box numerous times with the ball stuck to his feet and he duly got his goal, which he deserved. (Even if it was as a result of an absolute clanger from the keeper!) Charlton fans delirious!

The first sending off looked like it could be interpreted different ways by different refs, but I personally thought it was a red, he's lunged in violently. Cheerio.

Harriot comes off to a standing ovation and welcome Kerk ... GOAL. Cooly slotted in from 8 yards from the left hand side, I make that five?

Fuller is in on goal, and is taken out from behind and much to the fury of Charlton fans the ref gives nothing ... And then the linesman flags ... 9 men!

Fuller, who'd been sublime until he decided to shoot at which point it all went wrong, then bags a sixth from just outside the D ... Record breaking!

As mentioned before I thought Charlton fans were magnificent! The team spirit was there for all to see when the Addicks fans started singing "Stand up for Sir Chrissy Powell" after we were 4/5 up and then, led by Alex Dyer, the Charlton bench stand up aswell ... Fantastic! The players coming over to the fans at the end was amazing, Powell slapped the Charlton badge and mouths "that was for you" at the fans, goosebump times!

Shoutout to Hamer, who could be forgotten about today after the attacking display, but he pulled off some great saves and looked very assured in his box and looks a different goalkeeper than before he was dropped.

Back at Alton Towers now, Barnsley is my new favourite place on Earth. Thank you Chris Powell, thank you boys ... Thank you Charlton!

This is quite quite brilliant. really brilliant.

What a fantastic and totally unexpected result. Millwall also on their way out and throwing their toys out of the pram in the stands; Mansfield lost keeping alive Kiddy Harriers slim chances of promotion and Hamilton is on pole for the GP tomorrow so an allround great sporting day for me.

Just seen the goals on SSN. A couple of really good ones in there - the build up to and quality of Jacko's finish was very good, he's become such a good finisher, probably the best at the club. With the ability to produce crosses of Wiggins' quality with an aerial target like Yann we really should score more goals like our third.

Delighted for Pritch because time and again we see him getting in great goal-poaching positions only for him to scuff his shot or the ball not quite drop for him. Some reward for always sticking at it today. Hopefully his confidence in front of goal will grow from here because he gets enough chances to challenge Jacko's scoring record from midfield. Great to also see Obika and Kerkar making contributions from the bench again.

    Yours,

    Delighted of Alberta.
  • Amazing and completely unexpected result. SCP, I'm expecting 7-0 on Tuesday :-)
  • All we need now is for Nathan to get a job and the day will be complete lol

Great to hear the Charlton fans singing

    He scores when he wants
    He scores when he wants
    Bradley Pritchard
    He scores when he wants

    And...,

    6 nil
    And even Kerkars scored ....
  • Dont be so silly lookie
  • that was some game. Barnsley weren't bad and did have their moments, but defend or attack we got it right. They all played well, even the subs. It really was a team effort. It's the first time i've seen harriott and hughes start this seson and they added to the whole and make us a complete team. I'm not going to simgle anyone out except CP who got the whole thing just right from the kick off to when he kept the players on the pitch after the final whistle so we could all celebrate together.

    It was overwealming.
  • A calsberg day me thinks !!
  • 101 points, 6-0 away wins.
CP and the boys rewriting our history books.

1985 my dad first took.me v portsmouth I could think of a 6 scoreline for us since and thanks to lifers posts and reading thread I was proved correct cheers lads and very very well done the addicks im over the moon :D
  • Good pictures from the Mail. My favourite is the first, with the defender cowering, as Yann piles in to get the bone on Wiggins' cross - merciless

  • On a day like today anything seems possible, Sandy Lyle winning the masters at 55, oh sh-- just checked the scoreboard scratch that. Oh well its been a fabulous day, haven't been this chuffed by a result for a long time. I love this club, players, manager and fans.

Is it wrong to be in a hetrosexual relationship and love another man this much?

  • Just out of interest on the way out of the ground I stopped and asked the bookie what the odds were on a 6-0 result as his odds only went up to 4-0, he said it would have been about 300-1 , Kermorgsnt was 6-1 to get the first goal, there were no odds shown for Pritchard to even score, let alone the first goal, football is so unpredictable, Cardiff away has to be a nailed on 0-0.
  • Cracking win and some nicely taken goals. Jackos dummy was quality. Think the playoffs are just a step too far, especially with Cardiff coming up but after that...Who knows what we could pull out on Tuesday.

Only shame is that there are more comments on a thread about Millwall when we should all be going ballistic on here over a historic win!
