Now because nothing betters come along he's come back.
Presumably the club invited him back - CP seems to be pretty ruthless to me in his dealing s with other players, if he thinks that he has something to offer then I've no problem with him signing another contract.
I'm surprised that he didn't find a club though - he has a decent footballing CV with some first team football and a stint at Arsenal albeit in their youth/reserve team on it. Perhaps another player finding that clubs aren't looking to take players on at Championship level unless they are fully formed and ready to go.

But we know he wasn't happy with the offer we made. Unless we've dramatically improved on our offer (which, lets face it, is unlikely) then he's still not happy but will just collect money from us because he couldn't find anything elsewhere.
Of course Powell won't sign him if his attitude is poor, but given the fact that finances are scarce and there are a few positions which require the investment more than left back I think I'd probably not offer Evina a second chance.

If Morgan Fox is capable of stepping up if and when Wiggins is out then there's no need for him. But if he isn't and there's no other option then where do we go? Presumably we take pot luck with a loanee and as we know they can be hit and miss. Seaborne for example had a couple of decent matches for us last year at LB and a couple of utter disasters.
On the other hand perhaps he's just training with the club while he sorts a new contract out elsewhere.
Can't see anything wrong with it. We would ideally like to keep him, hence why we made him an offer. He wants to play first team football, hence why he wanted to have a look elsewhere. Now there might be a slight delay in Wiggins' recuperation I suspect it suits us to have him involved and keep him under our noses in case he has a change of heart. It also gives him a full pre season training with friendlies which he wouldn't get in the gym on his own. It also preserves his goodwill with us if he can't further his ambitions elsewhere. And everyones happy.

Seems odd that if he was that close to signing with another club, he wouldn't be training / turning out Pre season for them and not us . Time will tell.
Could be staying back to get something signed with us then join up with the rest of the team. The tweet could mean its done with us and its a new start. who knows.
I suspect he is not going to Spain because he has not signed on yet and his future is still in the balance, having just looked on Twitter I don't read anything into his tweets except for wishing his followers good night.I was surprised to see he played at Welling although I remember a few years ago Grant Basey actually captaining the side against the Wings only to leave Charlton a couple of days later to go on trial for Aberdeen.
Evina and Dervite were offered new contracts but on reduced wages.
Dervite agreed to the new terms. Evina went of to see what else was out there.
It was always a risk for both CAFC and the player and this particular game of poker is still being played.
The Haynes situation may be the same but Charlton say they had withdrawn an offer I think.
In a similar fashion other clubs and players are waiting to see what else is out there. None of Waggy, Taylor, Mambo, Kerker or Fuller have got deals yet for example.
Won't be surprised to see either Haynes (meant to be training with Millwall but not yet signed) or Evina back at Sparrows Lane
would be a waste of expenses surely if you took him only for him to sign on elsewhere later? I'd rather take another youngster with something to prove.
I personally think that after Evina said he was disappointed with the club that Chris Powell decided to be the bigger man and prove him wrong. Would have been easier for Powell to be a twat about it but that isn't Powell's style.
I would like to see both back as IMHO they both added to the squad last time around. If we are skint and waiting for TV money in August / September then I would want to see loans and others at that point who really add to what we have... what I mean is Evina and Haynes are better than unknown replacements

Assume this means Evina wasn't at training today.

Think they were off to Spain today, Aiden.....

positive thinking = positive outcome!
Hope he has got himself a better offer from the club, would be a shame to loose a good youngster.
