It made no sense to offer Evina a two-year deal, he rejected the offer the Club did make (that was his prerogative) and looked around. He eventually signed on the Club's terms. Chris Powell will now have options at the end of the forthcoming season.
Very encouraging. No drama just good management.
How do we know he signed on the original "Club's terms"?
He might well have but the Club might have given him more money than first offered to get him to sign?
Or replaced a reduced offer with an return to last years wages.
I still believe he should have been played at left back last season when Wiggins got injured, instead of playing Solly there then bringing in unfit loanees can't have done his confidence any good.
Agree, it appeared strange at the time.
But with the benefit of hindsight, it seems to have been the making of Ceddy - maybe SCP didn't doubt Evina's playing ability, but unsure whether he was mentally strong and disciplined enough to be a reliable team member?
Perhaps the role of psychologist is among CP's attributes as manager?
We don't know but: Agent: Ceddy I promise you the earth.... Ceddy: Yeah but... Agent:...and all that's in it Ceddy: Oui mais.... Agent: Powell will crack. Ceddy: La plume do ma tante Agent: I have a new one year contract for you with the greatest club on the planet, as promised. Ceddy: Vous parlez grande merde Agent: Sorry the line from Dubai is cracking u....
Good squad player, a year deal allows us to see where we are and where he is at the end of the season.
Hopefully Wiggins will sign a contract extension. We've also got 3 promising left backs in the u21s and u18s who will be looking to challenge Wiggins and Evina in the next few years.

Regardless we don't know what terms he signed on and if these moved up or down
