Someone said " We will beat Cardiff then remain unbeaten for the rest of 2012". That man was a genius.

    Were you that man, Masicat?
    I thought it was me!
It was I, but I can't find it to boast....

  • overall a good point against very good opposition. It is always a pity when Solly has to play out of position, I agree that a Wilson/Solly right side will be very effective. If Seaborne has gone back then we do need a left back in urgently. Thought
  • sorry haven't finished. Thought Haynes' pace added something to thefront line but woulkd prefer to see Yann with him. Still thought the midfield was overrun at times and wonder whether Pritchard and Jackson have the strngth for the Championship. Dervite did well, pacier than Cort. Shame for Morrison, usually so oiutstanding
  • Good point against a decent team. If we are anything like them in our 2nd season in the champ I will be very happy. Wasn't surprised to see Haynes on the right wing. I think SCP was worried about the threat from Bridge on the left who is a lot faster then I gave him credit for.
Frimpong and Stephens impressed me. Best CM pairing this season. Pritchard had one of his best games in a charlton shirt.
Hammer continues to impress me. He's making saves that keep us in the game. Fair to say Morro didn't have his best game but for a guy as consistently excellent as he is I can forgive him. The muppets on here talking about dropping him need to sort it out! As said above about Solly/Wilson combo on the right, we could have something great there!
IMHO we should be looking for a left winger in January. Perhaps someone on loan?
  • I heard the left back has gone back to the Saints , but on here says he was ill.

Could be both. Was ill and we were planning not to renew, his loan ended yesterday so as he was ill sent back

  • Did anyone seen the ironical statement at the bottom of Tyrone Biggums? It read as this:
"Statistically you're more likely to get bummed at home than anywhere else by a long way."

How true seeing that it is Brighton!!! ;-)
  • Good earned point but thought the subs were poor as if we had settled for a point?
The game was crying out for Danny green for the last 15 mins

I thought CP had settled for a draw and in a way I can understand it. Some of Brightons work around our box was fast and incisive and we needed to be on our toes defensively. At times i think CP needs to go for the points, but I think yesterday was not one of those times.

Good game. Thought we looked better when using the wide men, but they had more (quick) passing and movement when attacking through the middle. Think they just shaded it really, but a draw wasn't far off of being a fair result.

From the shot inside the ground, you must sit very close to me Stig. I'm in Block N row DD.

  • I thought it turned into a decent point but thought it was a poor game we were too concerned with what brighton could do than what we should be doing

It was a waste for haynes to play that far away from hulse

Mozza made a big mistake for the 1st goal and their 2nd was a deflection

Brighton imo had the better chances and prob on the balance of play won

  • Pretty close Stone, M BB.
  • A lot of them on the website saying we were quiet? I thought we were relatively loud yesterday
  • A lot of them on the website saying we were quiet? I thought we were relatively loud yesterday

I thought our support was not as good as the Cardiff game but still drowned them out at times and was ok. Trouble is I sit at the side nearer the Covered End than the Jimmy Seed so best able to comment, are those who sit near the half way line.
  • I was right next to them in the west and we were quiet
  • A draw was a fair result but it is frustrating that we play so narrow but we are going the right way up the table so im happy with that
  • The sooner we take the roof off the Jimmy Seed stand the sooner away supporters will stop pratting on about how loud they are ;-)
  • 1st half was like a library from both sets of fans but atmosphere in the 2nd half was much much better

Agreed, we need to get acoustics experts in to reduce the noise levels of the Jimmy Seed :-)
  • On Balance 2-2 was a fair result I would say and I enjoyed the match it was open and end to end. I thought Craig Mackail Smith looked a right handful and his goal was excellently taken on the other hand we had both Wilson and Solly who were as good as anything BHA had. The atmosphere was fantastic Brighton have terrific away support. Thought CP's team selection was once again a little eccentric IMO Haynes should be playing through the middle so that he uses his pace against slower central defenders. Still prefer Danny Green out wide to Bradley despite the lads first goal for the club. All in all a good afternoon pity we couldn't seal the 3 points but onwards and upwards.

  • Decent enough performance I thought against a good team.

I thought that Haynes was wasted on the right and wasn't able to get forward enough. One thing that did annoy me was for every Brighton goal kick Kuszczak was passing it out to either El-Abd or Salter with absolutely no pressure from us, they had all the time in the world to pass it between themselves and start attacks.

Never mind, looking forward to the frozen wastes of Bolton next week.
  • Bloody hell, looking at that Brighton forum seems like they love us as much as we love them !

This was tactically spot on. All their threat comes through playing it through the midfield. By not pressuring their defence and keeping organised and the shape in midfield, we tried to force their defenders to play it long.

This plan would have worked if Morrison hadn't made that mistake!

  • We scored our second against the run of play when it looked like the 3rd goal was going to be the winner. They looked dangerous throughout and a draw was definitely a good result for us. Yes, we were unlucky with Morro's error and their deflected 2nd goal but I'll take a point and move on. Getting a bit frustrated at our inability to win at home on a Saturday though!
  • I haven't read all the posts, but I'm surprised that powells tactics have not been mentioned, I thought they were excellent.
We started 442, we scored and went 451 with Haynes out on the right. Because BHA have no lumps up top they had to play through the midfield. Our defense won every header. So putting five in the middle worked well. They got one back from a mistake, we went 442 again, scored and then back to 451. Great work Mr Powell.
I thought it was a great game of football, fair result. Hamer was outstanding, MOM. Devitte was excellent as well, another excellent change by our manager.
I thought BHA deserve a pat on the back for playing football from the back as well!
    Pleased with result.

Looking forward to the return, glad it's a night match as it will make it easier getting tickets.
  • We shouldn't forget that we are only four points of fthe play off places. I think many of us would have taken that a few games ago.

I'd happily settle for that at the end of the season.
  • Wouldn't you want thsoe extra 4 points - not being too greedy to ask for them is it?
