I doubt they'd do that if there were hundreds of witnesses.
But there wasn't.
The 2 alleged victims and one Charlton fan out of 18k people. Even if Millwall fans did hear it... They'd hardly provide evidence against their own club.
Anyway, as Airman says - you can be angry about something and not want to pursue through the law. You ain't going to change Millwall and nor should you want to. They are a useful filter that removes all the scum from us.
Was I the only one who heard the monkey chants when BWP ran down the right wing then? Maybe it was a different sound and my mind was clouded by preconceptions.

i was in the millwall stand(well a box i can't get too near that scum) to the left of the away end and i thought at first it was monkey chants but it was definitely 'thief , thief , thief, thief, thief , thief'
Theif thief theif was a chant chanted at bwp in the same monotone as the monkey chant no saying it didn't happen like near everyone on here wasn't seated there but that apparently was a chant sang
Nothing wrong with a bit of Neanderthal grunting to communicate with your fellow supporter. Some have now moved on to learning the 'C' word with every grunt.
A mate of mine who is a Millwall fan went to the game made his view on this. Now before you start to slate me with what I am about to say as this from my Millwall's mates mouth so I am just passing his comment on. He is a decent chap btw and commented that some Millwall fans are knobs.
He stated:
I sit right by where they warm up and watched them and heard everything that was said. Danny Haynes got called a useless c*nt because he couldn’t even get into the starting 11, and Frimpong was getting called Ping Pong and Stink Bomb. The person who actually got it the most was Bradley Wright Phillips, he was getting called a thief for practically the entire time he was warming up, but he took the banter in good humour (because he knows it is true!!). But it was all good when Danny Haynes was calling Millwall fans fat white c*nts and Frimpong was joining in with him eh? If he felt he was abused he should have gone and told the one of many fine Met Police Officers standing yards from him at the time, but no, he goes off the pitch laughing and joking, still ripping it out of the Millwall fans, then they both jump straight onto Twitter to put it on there. It’s all too easy to jump on the Millwall fans are racist bandwagon, Marvin Sordell said that he was by loads of Millwall fans, but a police and FA investigation of CCTV etc found out that it was a 13 year old child (just one) who called him a useless w*nker (not remotely racist), which he then responded back to by hurling abuse at a 13 year old which he still hasn’t apologised for. Disappointing, but expected.
A few mics in the stands should be able to pick things up. Players with any sense would't sound off on Twitter - never seems to achieve anything. All clubs have some racist fans and it varies how committed they are in dealing with them.
I never heard any racism at the ground not saying it didn't happen but I never heard it
Frimpong and Haynes should not have put it on twitter and then removed it as it makes the issue look false or irrelevant
It's all getting to easy to say something then remove it and if they had an issue should've reported it via the appropriate channels first and spoke about it individually after
As for the comment about the behaviour of fans as the reason this is not being reported surely that would have been irrelevant as this would've been a disorder issue that the police would have the say on how it is dealt with
Surely it's more of a case of after investigation there was insufficient evidence to support the claim and therefore it is not worth pursuing
Just checked twitter ,Haynes has not deleted his tweet.
Like AFKA I think Haynes is interesting because he used to play for them and as a Peckham boy he is local. The Spanners were disappointed when they did not sign him.I do not believe he has an anti Millwall agenda. For those that haven't seen it this is the tweet:
The MILLWALLL fans 2day was disgusting . The racial abuse I received was embarrassing. Not impressed at all!
That is a statement from someone who sounds disappointed as opposed to someone who is trying to play the race card.
I think after Chelsea's nonsense defence of John Terry who clearly used racist language ,the spanners would try to use the 'thief' grunt as a defence which would put 'reasonable' doubt in a judge's mind so this I suspect is why Danny and Emmanuel did not decide to take this any further.
On a wider point the c word is almost used in normal speech at the Toolbox,I was called it three times both before and after the game ,but I guess that is banter isn't it?
I think it's more a case of trying to get the whole of football just to get back onto concentrating about football again and keeping all this stuff out of the public domain - it will be dealt with and i think that is what is being inferred here and as long as Charlton and, more importantly, the players concerned, see that Millwall do deal with it, then that is where it will end rather than sparking up a whole load more of this. It was getting out of hand and threatening to causea big black / white rift. The measures brought in over the last 20 years have gone a long way and i'm sure they will continue to do so without giving the press another feast like has been happening in the premiership in the last year or so.
The C word is a term of endearment if you come from bermondsey. Personally i think they will just do and say whatever they think will annoy their target the most - i'm not defending them but they have black fans, they have black players but they aren't the enemy - the immigrants who have taken over their beloved area are, as are opposition players. That is the long and short of it - they are fiercely anti anything that isn't Millwall. That can be viewed as being partisan and passionate or being narrow minded and a bit dim.

I have a confession to make. Whilst at the Peterborough game, the Charlton fans sent up a chant towards the ref 'you're an arsehole, la la la' following which i added, 'and you're 'C'. I would like to apologize to any fans in the North Upper H block, that heard my expletive. I feel somewhat ashamed to have allowed myself to lower the tone.
This isn't a dig at our own fans before anyone gets a bit upset about it but, if our fans outsung Milwall all game and no one could hear them singing. Would anyone in the away end actually hear any racist abuse, if there was any?

So your mate heard them call Millwall fans "Fat white cunts," Could you ask him why he never reported it to the fine Met police officers?
Do people realise that black people just like whites can be abused without there being a racial element?
After the Burnley game when Haynes/Powell got a bit of stick and gave some back, certain people on here immediatley accused Burnley fans of racism although CP had played the incident down.
Wouldn't say Millwall had any more problems with racism than other clubs, the Sordell incident turned out to be a 12 or 13 year old abusing him, And on Saturday Frimpong/Haynes seemed to be the only 2 people in the ground who claimed to have actually heard it.
Comments
expect people to take it serious when they dont themselves
you brush it under the carpet

P.S This was not meant as a term of endearment.
Shame on Meldrew for not reporting it though. FFS!
I think Covered End would find that mightly uncomfortable but who's to say not pleasurable?
