So how long you been going DRF. The club is in my blood, and after years of stick from millwall boys it's actually nice to see charlton stand up to them. That's all I'm saying. Now pull that thorn out my side and go and sit in the west with your bovril
Just for the record, I have had to endure lots of encounters with Millwall supporters over the years (since the early 70's) and have seen the worst violence at any football match when they have been involved. I mean very serious stuff not what was going on last Saturday. I dislike their support generally as much as the next Charlton fan and am happy for Charlton to stand up to bullying if necessary. Getting behind the team is great and out singing home supporters is always good, particularly when there is a perception that they are very good in that department. I am also very happy for us to take the piss out of them. I did that when we relegated them on doing the double for the first time in 60 years, ended up being attacked as a result in the East Stand. It won't stop me doing the same again if we were able to help relegate them again. Some people don't seem to differentiate between acting like utter knobs and dragging the whole of the club and it's supporters down to the level that we always accuse Millwall of and supporting our club. Grow up.
Came out of the ground and heard someone point me out by what I was wearing. Next minute he was right behind me calling me a spineless c**t then an older fella holding his kids hand started having a pop at me saying ive been found out. God knows what I done but a copper told them where to go and luckily I got away. They've really got issues that lot.
I ended up turning around and asking him what his problem was and he just walked past me. He had his chance to hit me but didn't luckily. Mouthed off drawing attention to everyone that I was Charlton. You can spot a scumbag when he is holding his 7-8 year old sons hand looking to punch someone
Sorry, "scumbag" is far too nice, I prefer 'lowlife'.
Thought it was a good south London derby. Good noise from us, not so much from them lot.Not a good performance from our midfield we know they are better than that of saturday, but credit to the blues they played well and should of beat us but I'll take a point.
Both before my time but having coined the name "spanners" in Voice of the Valley" it was an obvious next step to describe the place half full of Spanners as the "toolbox". All there on record.
I know you kids weren't going then so no shame in you not knowing that
This is hardly news though is it, at Selhurst last time we played at the end of the match a number of people (at least 10+) started stamping on their seats just to smash the ground up. When the police or stewards didn't move in more joined in... only to find the old bill collaring people responsible as they walked out.
That's not to say that it's something that should be tolerated, but this isn't a new thing that's just happened this season. Mugs have always been mugs.
The return game at the Valley has been moved to an 11am sunday morning kick off. Only Millwall fans who have been to every single away game this season will be eligible for a ticket and these can only be picked up from Clackett Lane services between 6-7am that morning. They will then board a coach to Charlton where they will be dropped off at the Valley cafe and escorted one by one to the ground whilst handcuffed to a police officer. After the game they will be kept in the ground until Wednesday lunchtime and driven to Stockport where they will then be told to make their own way home.

Think Selhurst in 05 (Dennis in the Last Min) had loads of seats ripped out in the away end by us, so nothing new on that front as you say.
We're the red and white army song - don't like it, too palace - our fans giving it large yesterday - loved it - all those giving it all the moral crap on here - go and watch rugby or something - charlton has always had a complete cross section of fans - middle class, working class, trainspotter types, proper hard cases - w've always had an 'element', a 'firm', and although i'm not into it personally, if our lot turn there's over i'm all for it. Not politically correct maybe but football is tribal and that is just an extension of it - it's the greatest game in the world and its all part and parcel - return game in march? bring it on - gang of pie and mash eating, lacoste wearing posers.
Proberly the best comment/ post I've read re all this millsmall malarky
...and this 'firm' element supports Charlton Athletic Football Club by insulting and confronting opposing fans?
Apart from inside the ground I don't think they insulted or confronted anyone outside, either before or after. I personally thought it was good to see an away following bring a bit more life to the ground. A few things were a bit muggy, but unlike most people, 1 idiot ripping a chair out doesn't mean I think you're all rampaging scum.
SLL - CAFC walked through the park with hardly any police before the game, making themselves known and Millwall gave plenty of verbals but nothing more, until CAFC got nearer the ground, at which point several groups looked like they would have a go, but the police got their act together. There was some handbags on route.
It went off a bit on Zampa road a while after the end, when our lot finally came out. Bottles, coins, cones etc going both ways. Police got on top of it and then escorted CAFC to New Cross. Millwall tried to get at the escort several times and a large group of yours were battoned back by the police. A few daft ones fronted the escort then hid in shops. I'm sure it was small-fry to when the serious players come down, but it was still CAFC not hiding and some of your's sounded livid about it.

To much is being made of the flare and what went on. Its over move on.
If smallwall got or get pissed off then so naffing wot. They have NEVER needed an excuse to kick off, smash the crap out of something etc. Decades of puting up with their total bollox and we are supposed to give a f++k they might be a tad miffed !!!!!!
It does seem those that are condoning the actions of others throwing objects on Saturday do have poor spelling and grammar. I wonder if there is some sort of link between the two?
Just a quick browse through your post history shows up countless grammatical errors. Glass houses and all that?

I've been going since I was a kid, with my Dad, who also went with his Dad. My brother also goes with his son. Four generations good enough for you?
My family history with the club goes back long enough that my Grandad used to go to Millwall and Charlton, like many of his generation, so I find this stuff about getting 'stick from Millwall boys' a little amusing.
I would never ever say I was ashamed to be a Charlton fan because of our reputation and don't understand how anyone can be ashamed of that. I do not want to become part of a club that does has a fan base to be ashamed of in the future.
Yes, it's a bit late to start digging them out now, what's done is done. I'm sure those identified will want to have a word though but they'll need to keep a low profile for a while, good job Kavanagh has left or Sky News would have been down already. The thing is learn from it no more stupid vidoes on utube.
How does throwing flares/smoke bombs & ripping up a seat make "You" a supporter of Charlton Athletic ?
Because it was done whilst in the way end supporting charlton.. How doesn't it?
Ha ha ! Oh, you're being serious.
So because people behaved differently to how you would, they're not charlton supporters? Rightttt
I take it you are not stupid: Please, try this, again:

Not sure where I said you "wasn't" a CAFC supporter, am asking how these idiots think they are "supporting" their Football team by throwing things and breaking seats.
Curb-It looking at some oftheir weird barnets on Saturday i think i now know why theyhate hairdressers !
We had a few ourselves! Thought it was an audition for a boy band, the amount of identikit haircuts and skinny jeans on show.
And yes, I am jealous! Wish I had hair and could fit into a pair of skinny jeans!! ;-(
The haircuts that I saw on Saturday in our stands were ridiculously embarassing. Shaved hair round the sides with a tuft of hair on the top. These kids look absolutely ridiculous.
Loved the atmosphere I must say, I absolutely loved the game from start to finish, as did my mates and 12 year old brother. The flares and stuff... I dunno, smoke bombs are pretty harmless in my opinion but flares have a much bigger potential to go wrong. Regarding the whole "flare near the ballboy incident" that was confused from the start up because it was the smoke bomb that fell right next to the kid (he looked absolutely terrified) the flare was on the pitch by a good measure.
Winding up the Millwall support was absolutely brilliant, I think that the main reason they went so quiet was because every time they made ANY noise they would just have the piss taken out of them which is one of the main reasons they were getting so massively wound up eg that ginger kid who if he keeps supporting Millwall at that paste will blow a blood vessel before he is 30.
I'm actually really looking forward to the March game now, because it brings some much needed atmosphere to Valley.

So embarrassing, it took him about ten minutes to even put a dent in it.
Very sad yes...
