Looks like the easiest station for me is New Cross travelling from Orpington .... Will have 2 kids constantly asking are we there yet so can anyone give me an idea how long the walk to ground is or am i better off carrying on to Surrey Quays .... Also is there likely to be a few Charlton at New Cross to have a drink with?
20/25 minutes from New Cross cutting through the park, arches & estate.
By the time you wait for the ELL to Surrey Docks then a 15 minute walk from there, better off at New Cross.

Few pubs around, most should have quite a few Millwall in them, Marquis & 5 Bells (bit of a walk), other than that, the Amersham or Albert should be quiet.

Atmosphere usually quite moany after a draw/loss, but the service is very good.
Last time I got the coach to Millwall was the 2010 game. No police escort and the driver took us down the Old Kent Road. Horrible experience.
3 youths also tried breaking onto the coach via the emergency door.
Absolute carnage on those coaches mate. OAP's making gestures of self pleasure out the windows, train timetables being used as paper aeroplanes, old men everywhere getting bang on the sniff.

Not that I think there would be any agg on Saturday but surely you a more of a target sat on a Redwing Bus coming down the OKR than blending in on the tube or train.

Have never seen 10 year old kids being smacked by adults at football, but if he definitely saw grown men targeting young kids then fair enough. Fortunately I've never seen it in the time I've been going so hopefully they're long gone.

I think we have some OAP fans who go to most/all away games and always get the supporters coach from Charlton to each game. They probably enjoy it as much as some of us enjoy cans on the trains. That being said £10 isn't on!

I saw a palace scarfer get a good shoeing outside the station when we lost in september...he must have been all of 15 years old.
I don't think that the 10 year old would get clouted (not even Millwall are that vile, are they?). Just don't fancy him watching me get into a scrap with someone. His mother wouldn't let him go to football again.

My mate goes home and away and was saying it was embarrassing the abuse and intimidation being given out to normal members of the Watford public not even going to the game by some of the dickheads that follow your club.

Ahhhh, Watford away last season...didn't go fortunately, my mates said the same, where has all the complete & utter numpties come from abusing innocents, giving stick , trying to act hard. It's always the local away games where these people somehow appear from nowhere and act up, normally resulting in them getting a clump from the regulars.
We have our followers who like a scrap with like minded opposition and then we have a minority who use the name to think they're tough for the day.
