South Bermondsey will be closed again. All away fans coming by train are escorted to Surrey Quays.
As for parking...I would try Folkestone Gardens. Never known cars to be broken into there and easy to get back on to A2.
I will be walking from Surrey Quays to the game about 2:20 is it farely safe mate?
We just played Leeds United who also had to deal with no trains to South Bermondsey. Other than a few verbals afterwards when they were escorted back nothing happened.
Charlton fans will be fine. Remember, you wont stick out at all being south Londoners too. And even if you did I seriously doubt there will be any bother, unless, ahem, you go looking for it by shouting "Come on then Millwall"
You could try that...but at best you would get your head caved in and at worst you would hold your own and then get a knock at the door from the OB a month later.
Got off at South Bermondsey last time I went To Millwall - not a pleasant walk down from there to the ground. The 4-0 defeat with big Mig putting in a truly abysmal performance made for a truly depressing afternoon. Not sure how home fans will react if we beat them - nothing would surprise me.
Would you like to see yourselves in the Prem picking up much bigger crowds but also alot of the 'Happy Clappy Mob' turning up to watch prem football or float around the Championship/League 1 with 9k 'proper fans' turning up?
I'd love a short term crack at the prem, providing we were set up in a way that could hold our own & produce a few shocks, mid table finish will do.
But long term it would change so much, much to my dislike.
Of course, I wouldn't want us to lose & be relegated from the prem, so could we agree on being booted out after running amok at the Emirates or something?
As if we need a millwa** fan to tell us how many supporters we would take here or there.
Surely they should be more interested in their own support woes?!
Woes? The club is in its healthiest state crowd wise since the docks closed.
Last year we averaged 11,500 in a season we struggled for most of it, had awful home form and whilst in the middle of the worse recession since the 1930s.
We are a small club - but we are actually a growing one. Our crowds just look small to you because you have bigger gates.
Millwall average 2010-11 - 12,438 Millwall average 2011-12 - 11,484 Millwall average 2012-13 so far - 10,669
Are you a politician? That's not what i'd class as 'growing'.

Remember there are many on here who either saw what we were like in the old days or take the media as gospel, so don't realise that 99% of the time, unless you are asking for it/looking for it, you'll be left alone.
Can't remember if you can get a beer in the away end or not? Gonna get there early if u can
Why would you wanna spend any more time than a couple of minutes on our breeze block cold concourses swigging overpriced tasteless carlsberg from plastic bottles?
Having had a couple in the Bramcote last time SLL, your breeze block concourses are lovely!! ;-)
The Bram has shut down now.
Cheers SLL...usually sad to see pubs closing down, but there's always exceptions!! ;-)

A lot depends on the result - if we sneak a winner in the 3rd minute of injury time there'll be a few herberts amongst your support who'll be looking for some afters. I realise things nowadays are nothing like the 70s and 80s but I wouldn't say the New Den ranks amongst the most pleasant places to visit.

So am I, mainly because it kept those who used it out of other pubs...now they are even more busy.

Which is no different to any away game if the away team sticks in a last minute winner, always a few planks wanting to bully someone.

Haha, very true. Will have a think about watering holes this time...the breeze blocks may be a little colder this time of year!

Most places around Surrey Docks will be solid wall or known regulars only, best bet is London Bridge & cab it down.

and the odd rock and a lump of wood launch in there direction lovely
Then there would be no atmosphere, just a bunch of boring old basts from the home counties who sit in the east stand and clap every now and then. ha!
Home counties? Geography not your bag then Gaz?
Who are you Irving's Mother?
Why not give away teams the East Stand, will create more atmosphere. Besides I would love to see us take 6,000 to Millwall wouldn't you?
C'mon, you would not sell 6,000 tickets for Millwall away.
I suspect at the moment we probably could although I agree that if our form was iffy then we wouldn't.
As it is there will be a lot of Charlton fans in the home areas as I understand that currently there has been no restrictions on sales also a lot of mixed support families will sit together.
Behave lads - we have not even sold this allocation yet and it's under 3k! Yes I know we will sell it in the end, but to think we could easily take 6k there is laughable. On a rare occasion (Cup Qtr final or business end of the season maybe we would push it) but as a general rule of thumb, never in a million years!
Well..I know 20 years seems like yesterday to old gits like me, but we took 4,000+ to the Old Den in Feb 92. At the time we were on our knees at Upton park, still not sure if we were going back to the Valley and our 'home' crowds were 5-6,000 at Upton Park. Our early form had faded, and on the night we could hardly fill the subs bench. The thing was we had made a fuss about being given a bigger allocation. Peter Mead was Millwall chairman at the time. Since he was a big cheese in advertising I was part of the lobbying to make him relent.
So I agree 6k is a big ask, but if we won the two games before then, knew we had Kermo, and Wiggo back, and no other bad stuff off-the-field...sometimes a game captures the imagination. Looks like we will sell out tomorrow, which indicates to me there is more demand than capacity. Anyway they are not offering to increase the allocation this time, so I guess it's academic.
i remember going to a game at the den and someone telling me that day we were going to be the last london derby match to be played there before they moved to the toolbox... have i got that right and if so what was the score???

Plus we have been in the top flight for two glorious years....
I wondered what that stink was....

Penultimate league game at the old Den (they lost to Bristol Rovers in the last league game).
Would be the last London derby at the old Den unless they played a friendly after this (don't think that they did).
for the love of chris powell just let me see one good result there while im still young enough to enjoy it for fack sake!
cheers sheffieldred, appreciated.
