Cheers guys. Here's a square version if it's of any use to anyone.
Great work.
I have printed it out - A4. looks good.
Going to bring it to the game on Tuesday.
I bet a flag would look good as well.
That's a great idea, if as many as possible could print out on A4 paper and hold up whilst singing Chrissy Powell----- that should get the message through to TJ and would give Chrissy and the team a timely boost.

FAB ! Will do as well as doctor my flag ...again !
About six months ago (ie. when promotion was as good as nailed on), I was told by a then Board member that the club had "built a team to compete in the Championship", the implication being that all of the key signings were seen as not merely good enough only for League One. The way we romped the division suggests they were right.
One can debate whether the above view is fair, and one can have some sympathy with injuries and the mish-mash of pre-season signings CP was permitted to make (albeit some of them pretty good eg Fuller), but I fear that the since restructured Board will be viewing our performances this season through the above lens, whether fans agree or not.

However, the same board asked Varney to line up five major signings, which he did. Of these five only Lawrie Wilson was signed, ostensibly because the club didn't have the money to make the deals happen. I accept they hoped to have the money, but if the view was that we already had the team to compete then why line up the deals?

....I guess because the same Board member also told me they wanted 'to do a Norwich' ie. not settle for a period of consolidation in the Championship. They probably thought this was realistic based upon the form we were showing in L1, the Norwich precedent and the fact (also mentioned) that Southampton at the time were flying high too.
Clearly that plan is now out of the window partly for the reasons you suggest (ie. lack of funds to really 'push on'), but anyhow my point was that I don't think the Board share the fans consensus view that the squad isn't good enough to compete, and thus CP can be exonerated from blame for this season's performances.
I'm not implying this is my own view (I'm positioned somewhere inbetween the two as it happens).
Based on performances I don't think it's a big stretch to see us having 4-6 more points with Fuller, Kermorgant or even just a bit more luck, in which case yesterday's scoreliine wouldn't have provoked the reaction it has.

For what it's worth, I too am backing the manager. I was never in the "legend" camp but getting us promoted deserves a full season in the Championship. The whining good time boys can do one and join the Premier League glory boys shopping at Bluewater on Saturday or whatever it is they do now. If this means the gate drops to ten thousand, then the sooner the better and we can get on supporting our team. The time to consider changing this manager is at the end of the season.
I'm backing Chris all the way........he is working with what he has got....which is diminishing game by game......and yesterday we got tonked.......but how easily we forget the last 2 games where no one gave us a hope and in the end we could have maybe even should have won both............as I said on another thread...if the board get rid of Chris who is going to replace him or even consider replacing him when its clear we have no money to strengthen the team?....leave Chris to get on with his job and lets see what difference can be made when we have our injured players back.
Unwavering support from me - he has an incredibly difficult job this season exacerbated by injuries, poor refereeing and bad luck. This would have made an infinitely more interesting documentary than that over-wrought guff about Liverpool.

A more relevant question might be how would the club afford a new manager with real credentials especially given the cost of paying off the rest of CP's contract?
I suspect he isn't one of the better paid Championship managers (no reason why he should be either) but the type of manager who even the most ardent CP fan might accept as a step forward probably costs £750k-£1m pa, and maybe compensation too.
Within this context his job is probably pretty safe.

Same here. I'd already printed off a couple of copies when i read this thread. Unfortunately my next game will be the Peterborough match. I will bring mine then athen.. Maybe it is something that could be a theme for each game. Why not make it part of the pre-match warm-up.
If the players see that the fans are totally behind the manager then they can feel less pressure. If they run onto the pitch thinking a bad performance could lose the fans support and ultimately the manager his job it is a lot to cope with.
100% behind Charlton. Always will be. Winning or losing, promotions or relegations.

Well that is interesting, if one of them said that to you. When i spoke to a Board member about that during the summer, he appeared to recognise that both Norwich and especially Southampton were special cases because of their strong financial backing, which, he said himself, we did not enjoy. I am not sure which is worse, if we spoke to different board members, or the same one...
LMFAO let's print a A4 piece of paper out and hold it in the air.The spanners would piss themselves laughing, sing, shout support the team, but please don't be stupid.there would be more aeroplanes than the last game of last season.
100% behind Powell. Although that may be a dangerous place to stand, as I may get a knife in my back in error :-)
Anyway, would the likes of Alex Ferguson be able to turn Pritchard, Jackson, Hollands, Stephens, Green, Wagstaff, Kerkar etc into top Championship players. I don't think so.
If Powell was to go I think Derren Brown may be our only hope :-)

So when people are looking to get a few 100 tshirts or banners made up with this on they shouldn't consider giving you the work?
Clem, how much do you think these would cost to do ? I have quoted before and people don't realise unless you are ordering 1000's it isn't as cheap as people think and then people think you are on the make. I try not to give people tat but non tat isn't that cheap anymore.

Lose 1 or 2 struggle will ensue
Those 3 or 4 and we was always going to be in the shit
The board member was correct but short sighted of they felt the job was done

Can I have a "92.5%" version as I want to hedge my bets.
Only joking
"Get Curbs back, don't know where our next win is coming from, he's signed 23 players and can't make the right choices"
I'd hate to read your unsupportive posts.
