Should Leon Clarke be given another chance at Charlton?

  • Don't know about Clarke, but I do know that we are generally far too quick to judge players. Over the years I've seen far too many "bad" players develop into good players, given a run of games. I'm thinking Peter Shaw, Mark Aizlewood, Flanagan, Johnny Robinson, Jason Euell, Luke Young and more recently Wiggins (first few games) and Wilson. I'm firmly of the belief that a player needs at least ten games to find their feet. Having said that, I saw Clarke on his debut and he was useless. I still think Omar Pouso was hard done by!
  • The problem is we loan players they find form we don't play then straight off they lose form

Fans go mad when a player used to playing week in week out gets ten mins don't score people say he is shite
  • I think people dislike him because of the moody aura he gives off. He seems to score when he gets a regular run in games. However he doesn't seem to have hit it off with Powell for whatever reason and it sounds like he wouldn't want to come back anyway. I don't have an issue with him, but if there are underlying issues then no I don't think he should come back if it upsets morale. It seems all parties are happier with him playing elsewhere
  • He's found his level in League 1 , don't know if he's burned his bridges with Charlton fans though?

    in what way?
In the sense that certain fans have made up there mind about him and think he's useless , if he came back here and didn't hit the ground running , would charlton fans be so forgiving?
  • If he blazed a couple of easy chances over the bar in front of the North stand , would he cop a load of flak , people telling him how crap he is etc....

  • nope. Age aside, Fuller & Hulse are a step up from BWP and Kermo and those two are at least two steps up from Clarke.

Add to that the fact that CP doesn't fancy him, so leave him where he is and get him off the books asap.

u really think hulse is a step up from kerms? not imo
  • If CP wanted to keep him he wouldn't be on loan. He won't be back.

he will as Scunny can't afford to take him permanently

love Kermo and his passion but I felt he was being bullied by the defenders in the early games this season and I'm not sure that'll happen to Hulse.

No real facts behind it though. Only seen Hulse for 10 mins but he did OK then and he's floated around football at a higher level than Kermo so that sways it for me.
  • I can't see a gang of angry cage fighters bullying Kermo
  • Nope, I am not a fickle fan

Just momentarily punching above his weight............;-)
  • Still, Clarke is 40x better than Izale McLeod

Well Kermo is injured so he is currently right
  • NO NO NO

One of the worst players i've seen in a charlton shirt in the last 42 years
