    good quiz question.

KP on the aisle next to Slater
PE at the back of the lower section
    DU across the aisle
BK sitting down at front of top section?

    Can't spot the other two

    Steve Gritt's already been mentioned.

So, which is Fanny, StillAddicted, Henry Irving (Fans Rep), AFKA and DA9 ?
  • Daily Mirror today suggests this almost a done deal with Slater taking a lesser role! How much more low profile can he get?
  • Here it is reported on Sky. This will happen I think:

  • "I have a long historical association with that club.

"I was born and grew up in the area, started my career there and my family still live there.

"I'm very flattered to be associated with the club in this way and we'll see how it turns out very soon."

  • When not if in my opinion. But if Slater steps aside does that mean Cash has found a replacement...??
  • hellavu lot of smoke so definately a fire. Expect him appointed soon. What exactly is going on behind the scenes? One assumes that if Slater is taking a back seat (leaving?) then it is only because the shares that he is overseeing have either been sold or severly diluted.
  • I will be very pleased we may hace just found the mediator between SCP and TJ

Or do you mean a replacement for cash

    This.

Still would like to know who has the money though.

    Indeed, NLA.

Surely this must be heralded as very good news for the future of our Club & hopefully a reinstatement of a decent relationship/communication between the fans and the Board.

  • Let's hope so and as henners says wait till its on the OS

    But positives to be Seen
  • I think this can only be good news, a chairman with the club at heart.
  • Hopefully it happens, a fan in charge again even if he does not have loads of money to bring to the table and most important an ally for Chrissy.

    Personally delighted if it happens.

  • Oh i don't know what to think:

    Positives

    Knows the club, Knows football
High profile and well known in the game
Someone who might actually want to do the job

    Negatives

No wealth, so another high placed official who will be 'taking out' rather than 'putting in'
Has other interests, so unsure how much that will dilute his involvement
No experience in running a company with such a turnover
  • Putting 2+2 together and making 5, perhaps a buyer has been found for cash and a sensible candidate who the fans can relate to coming in as chairman is the positive pr spin the new owner/tj has wanted, marking the start of a new 1/2/3 year plan

Adding to the positives,I think NLA's point about mediation between Powell and Jimenez is a good one.

I know that we all get frustrated by the chris Powell is black stuff but by and large the majority of the clubs supporters on this site seem to want to keep him

To have such a high profile black chairman within the kick it out and equality for black coaches and players I think that it will buy SCP time the chairman pulls the trigger and I think that it will help

I am not saying he should only be in role because he is black before people jump down my throat and yes if he falls short as a manager then he should still be treated the same as any other

So don't try and Misconstue (spelling) what I am trying to say

Wasn't thinking that at all NLA.
It's a factor, yes, but also the fact that he knows the game, as well as being a similar age to Powell will help.
  • I didn't aim that at you bud just wanted to get it out before others tried to say so you are only saying he has the job because he is black

Apologise if it sounded aimed at you or anyone else in this thread so far
  • Something is obviously cooking behind the scenes, Elliot is fronting for someone as he is not an executive by any stretch, he is there as a figurehead.

As Large says, the question is really who is Elliot fronting for and why?

Didn't think you were mate.Just wanted to put up a couple of other positives before you get the kind of response you just mentioned.

  • I think it's a really good move in the short term as I will always believe that there are things that have stretched the working relationship of the current incumbent and SCP

Long term I can see good coming from this but it will be an Interesting time ahead watching the pair of them work together both ex players both proper football men
  • As long as this makes SCP happy and helps him in some way to do the great job he's doing, it makes me happy too....
