simply not good enough. our ability to take our chances is non-existent. i think its time to drop BWP as he misses too many opportunities, if he had taken on that pass from fuller and scored, it would have been a completely different game, instead he got the ball and stopped which led to him losing it. Time to change it up Powell!
Don't want it. But said on another thread (two weeks ago) we'll be bottom in a few weeks, and not recover (as usual got slated by the CL gang). Hope I'm proved wrong but i doubt it. Back to Orient next year.
What was going through Corts head when he decided to bear hug Deeney?Such a stupid challenge and that was the gift they took. Absolutely gutted because we had control the second half before and after their goal. And then we just ran out of ideas. And for all that possesion we hardly troubled Almunia. Very poor and those are the sort of games we needed to pick up points because we are going to struggle. Struggling to keep my emotions in check becase that was very frustrating. Gutted.
What a truly revolting bunch of wankers Watford are. The antics of some of their players was nothing short of shameful. The 18 summed it up at the end when Fuller went to shake his hand and he backed away, big smirk on his face and gave him the 2-1 fingers.
Wasn't overly impressed with our first half performance. When it went to 10 vs 11 we were in charge. We just don't have that bit of quality to create clear cut chances. Lost count of the amount of poor balls into the box or poor decisions in and around the box.
We desperately need some pace in the side.
Thought the ref was ok in the first half then totally lost the plot in the second. Wright-Phillips was virtually rugby tackled just before the free kick they were given and scored from. He bottled the Wright-Phillips one as he'd have had to send the bloke off.
Didn't understand the subs either. did we go 3-4-3 at the end?.
When you look at the fixtures we have coming up, it really is brown trousers time.
its time to change things . BWP seems out of his depth and as for the midfield , Holland a stephens have never played that well together a bit like lampard and gerrard. Pritch seems a bit too light weight. That said we should remember we are missing Yann wiggins and jackson
We severely lack an attacking central midfielder. Stephens passing is good and he seems to have a good footballing brain but we need someone who can drive forward from the middle and get defenders on the back foot. Despite our goal not coming from a cross, we look very one dimensional going forward, either long ball/crosses.
Don't listen to the extreme views, we played 'ok' but aren't getting the breaks or going that extra mile at the mo. For Watford it was a daylight robbery, nicking a set piece winner with their only chance in the 2nd half. But that's football, and we've all been there.
Defensively, we were sound. Solly on the left, despite doing nothing wrong, is still a big square peg round hole, and the balance just isn't quite right.
Keep attacking strength on Saturday was the amount of ball our two wide players had, and their impact on the game. Neither did it tonight, and Green in particular was a big step back from his performance on Saturday. Whether Watford did a specific mark on him, i didn't follow close enough.
We justdidn't create enough quality going forward. The one time we did, and a beautiful ball from Stephens, Fuller put away well. But over the 90, we just didn't force the issue enough.
I'm not panicking. We are a bottom half / potential mid table team. A bit of luck and this would have been 6 points out of two games and everyone would be raving. Small margins make the difference in football. I'm more annoyed at drawing on Saturday and not taking advantage of a Blackburn team clearly going through the motions, than losing tonight to a team who down to ten men were set up not to lose and nicked it off a set piece.
Watford are a bogie team. Check the record books..............
Can't give away silly fouls and the ball so much at this level. The players are good enough to survive in this division but need to play better and that's sCP's job. I hope Razak is fit enough to start. He's got to improve the midfied. Also a bit more quality out wide would help.
Gotta admit we got it wrong tonight off the pitch in the second half, and hopefully lesson will be learnt. Players didn't know how to play 10 men as we kept lofting the ball into their 18-yard box rather than running them ragged and creating gaps. Needed someone to take the 2nd half by the scruff of the neck but no-one put their hand up. Subs were uninspired and late as ever.
This is a game we should've won and you leave the ground thinking how the hell did we not get more out of it!!!!
Onwards and upwards, and here's hoping for something to click come Blackpool!!!
Watford typical Italian cheating buggers, but on the other hand very comfortable on the ball. Most disappointing thing all night both BWP and STEPHENS both putting their shots over the top by leaning back. Sorry that is basics and fcukin frustrating.
We need to take our chances bwp needs to make the oppositions goalkeeper make a save said the same last season he just doesnt make enough of the chances that come his way he needs to be more clinical.
To try to put perspective here. We were not miles worse but we lost...it is happening a lot, losing matches by one goal. But it has been by one goal, we are able to compete as we did tonight, we couldn't get through a packed defence, we nearly scored, and we are certainly in with a shout of being able to get results in this league. Watford did us with a FK, as we did plenty of times last season, the ref was generally good, and nowhere near the cause of the defeat, it was a cruel evening when you learn a bit more about this league. I certainly wouldn't blame Powell, it was tough, and we had no breaks, but I for one am still optimistic.
I am astonished that there are so many people are still saying its not too bad, bit more luck, just need to do this and we'll be alright. I'm sorry but you need to wake up and sniff that coffee. We are poor. We lack pace, guile and and there are a number of the first team squad that ain't gonna cut it in the Championship. The warning siigns are there in big bright lights. Play like that in the next four and well be bottom. Make no mistake we are not heading for mid table consolidation we are going to be in a relegation scrap.
didn't go but the alarm bells are ringing the league is definitely harder than expected but we're not as good as i hoped we were we're still 5th (bottom) only 3 points from the bottom
We can blame the ref all we like and he did have a mare but they are a very ordinary side who played 50 mins with only 10 men and alumnia didn't really have that much to do.very poor charlton
almunia made one save in the second half... very frustrating game. no creativity in the midfield tonight...too many crosses with nothing on the end of them.

Didn't want the pass so much that he stood next to Watford players
Poor decision not to sun him and bring the energetic rasak on to play I'm that hole and allow Stephens forward
2 men cost us 3 points
