Take Two !! Powell is an inexperienced manager let down by 'the money men' in the close season. He has to make do with last season's players and a few pretty good loanees who will need the proverbial time to settle. At the close of the season before last I slagged Powell off horrendously when we lost about seven on the trot. After last season I won't make that mistake again. BUT .. improvement is needed and soon. No-one mentions the defence. I have only seen 3 games this season, to me the defence is nowhere near as sound as many fans seem to think.
That's as disappointing as it gets. Feel more pissed off tonight then I dd after the palace game!!. Too annoyed to say anything else tonight. I'm off to sink a few beers
Who knows what will happen - and I won't predict relegation yet. But the facts are that we are simply a relatively weak champ team and it will be very tough to stay up. If you can't beat an average 10 man champ team at home, that's all you can say. Simple as that. This league is a lot tougher than we gave it credit for.
you've got to kill off an average side with 10 men at home. Really disappointing. I hope the poor refereeing doesn't take precedence over a poor performance.
Would be more depressed if I was a Watford fan and had to watch that type of performance every week.
Early goal in the second half would have made the difference, but as it was we had all the pressure and got caught with that sucker punch of a free kick.
Disappointed, but I still think we'll be alright this season.
Battered them from the first minute to the last minute. The ref was shocking. Didnt look like he knew what his job was. The watford players were time wasting and falling all over the place (team of drogbas) We played out of our skin. Just a shame nothing went our way and we was unlucky infront of goal
Very disappointed. Were there really that many positives ? Kerkar was poor and it was only when against ten men that Stephens and Hollands got a foothold. Poor decision making by practically all of them with the exception of Solly and Morrison. Hamer moaned at the players throughout yet catches an obvious back pass. Centre mid needs more energy than our current can offer. Convinced this will be a long hard slog. Reminded me of performances under Parky. Off to bed and hope it seems better tomorrow.
Bad luck and bad decisions on and off the pitch cost us. Never even heard of Razak before he signed but had to be better than Pritchard whose been outmuscled virtually every time hes played. That said more than enough chances, there is a good team in there somewhere.
Move solly back to right back, take out hollands add someone who can pass forwards and not backwards. Neither stephens or hollands join in at all up top.
Its plain and simple. There's no cutting egde or finally product in our play
It was there for the taking, but we blew it. As usual, SCP waits until it goes pear-shaped before subs are made - won't take a risk, won't recognise it when players are struggling.
The lack of a game plan vs 10-men was shockingly apparent. You need midfielders who can buzz around pulling players out of position - not an army of big lumps to hoist it up to. Where was Hulse supposed to be playing when he came on? (I'm not criticisng him) I'm no Waggy worshipper, but it was his kind of sitiuation surely.
BWP, Hollands, Pritch yet to show they're really up to this level. A long hard winter beckons
Watford are a poor Championship team who played with 10 men for 45mins and still Almunia did not have a shot to save. Zola is tactically inept as a manager as proved at West Ham. To lose at home is therefore a huge disappointment, especially after only taking a point from what I thought was an incredibly poor Blackburn team devoid of passion and desire at home on Saturday. Worrying times and players need a kick up the bum but ultimately we need more quality in midfield. Still plenty of time to dig ourselves out of it but the crowd need to stay with the team and manager.
Can someone remind me when we last beat 10 men? Neither me or my Dad can remember. My only groan is my missing what Addickted said again, sorry Nick didn't realise you meant you were going to the Blackpool away game. Go on the big one & the pepsi max rollercoasters for me.
Far, far, far too early in the season to write us off. We are competing in every game, not getting battered & yet not ever sounding comfortable either. Can't see a lot wrong with that starting line up given the injuries, who knows how fit Razak is - 1 start since March says a lot. Not a great start to the season but to be throwing a hissy fit & calling Powell names or creating scapegoats isn't going to achieve anything.
My only question from afar is do we have the firepower up front to consistently win games - Fuller is going to score a few, but where else are the goals going to come from?
Wish we'd sold Stephens. I await the, " he's our most skilful playmaker".. Blah blah. He lacks urgency, won't put his foot through the ball when he shoots and loses out to often.
We were better without him last season, we would be this.
Impressed with Wilson today though. Much improved.

Our trouble to day was the final ball let us down constantly it was league 2 standard absolutely shocking. Also we give the ball away far too much
We are so slow as a team its embarassing we need some pace in the team. Why do we always look to pass back when breaking.. Other teams don't.
I don't usually dig BWP out but he is shite, one goal is not good enough and he misses so many chances.
