  • Hats off to everyone how has committed to this. I doubt very much that I'll make it in person on Tuesday, but I wish you all well.
  • Really want to come to this but as its the Mrs birthday, i would not risj even mentioing it

Is it Ok to whack the info on my little forum in case anyone on there do not frequent here?
  • Are the people who are '100% in' the same people who were 100% in last time there was action on this which didn't make it passed the second meeting.
    Words < Action
Wrong. It did make it past the second meeting.

    And does it matter?

Actions do indeed mean more than words so lets see who turns up before having a dig at them.

No recriminations pls. Positivity required from all

This is going to happen believe it

  • There are many different reasons why this time is different DRF but we need to not have the complacency we had last time and not look to people's motives to react last time there was unfair criticism aimed at some for their motives
  • Ok i will say this hopefully for the last time but i will keep saying it

With the greatest respect. Please do not leave negative comments here, or turn up and do same, this is going to happen, those who just want to bitch and moan should leave well alone.

Just my opinion but I would have thought the reasons for doing it before were much stronger. The football was poor and getting ever worse. We were really at risk of going out of business and our owner had said he had no more money to invest and was actively seeking to sell.

This time on the pitch WE ARE CHAMPIONS our owners have said they are funding for the future, they have invested in the youth set up, backed the manager and spent on the team.

The only real risk is in rumours. Once the season starts we will know if there was any truth in the rumours and any reason to worry.

Yes, leave egos at the door, we aim to put in place a conduit for positive future action(s), not a forum for self aggrandisement.
  • Not sure if there's anything I can do up here in York but if the time comes when there's a monthly sub to be paid I'm in.
  • Will do it anyone want it taken down just let me know
  • Hang on a minute:
Is The Lib open at the moment (there was talk about it being re-furbished during the summer) ?
  • Sponsored links:

  • Will ask Adele. Hopefully will reply ASAP.
    P.

  • razil, good work.

    Details:
    365 Footscray Road
    New Eltham
    London
    SE9 2DR

    http://www.gladewoodtaverns.co.uk/beehive_new_eltham.html

Walking distance from New Eltham station, if you go along Footscray Road in the direction of Eltham (in the direction of the B&Q but nowhere near that far).

160, 162, 321, 286 all go that way, and we are around the corner from Sparrows Lane.

Car park off Brentwood Close, which is to the left of the pub, leads to area behind the pub.

When you get there, simply ask around about the "Charlton" meeting. Alternatively, wear your Charlton Life badge!

Of course, two days is a long time in football, and when we meet the landscape may be completely different, but as Prague Addick says, even if we set up a "sleeping" Supporters' Trust, it will be available to be woken by the kiss of a future crisis prince.
  • Beehive was my local for many years....had my first illegal pint in there and used to play football for them in a very successful team....was also my old man's second home!!! Pity I cant make it, would take me back to the 70's when I used to be more in the pub than out!!
  • Admin - is it possible to make this an announcement?
  • All the best with this guys, too much going on to get involved.
  • I wish you all the best of luck and give you my support from up here.
  • It goes without saying that you have my total support .

Unfortunately, I am unlikely to make Tues evening's meeting but will do so if I possibly can.

I shall look forward to hearing what occurs and to helping in any way I am able to in the future, especially in an admin capacity and in contributing to funds.

    Onwards & upwards !
  • The Beehive used to be my local, but now I'm over in Essex (dragged by the wife). I won't be able to make it but happy to contribute where I can...

  • Making the aim to buy/preserve The Valley, and that The Valley should always be a home for Charlton Athletic Football Club to play in.
    Convincing argument Seth.......
Putting it like that, I do not have an alternative......
So I will come along with my 'tenner'. Beehive pub yes......
  • I cannot only support from afar, so can't make the meeting - but if there is any way to help in a more concrete fashion, let me know and I'll do all I can.

Good work boys and girls, well done.
  • it's my local so i will be there
  • I can't do much from down here in the new forest but support you all the way and am willing to help in whatever way possible
  • Obviously, I can't get there .....but I'll follow developments with interest.

    Good luck everybody!
  • I have been looking at the Swansea City Trust website, very informative, suggest everybody takes a look, especially at the early minutes and early accounts. I remain impressed, and at the moment they have about £200,000 in their account.
  • told NLA couldnt make it due to work etc , anything needed ie printing etc i would be more than happy to help .
  • Registering as a charity would allow us to set up a just giving page would it not ? Might be the easiest and most tax efficient way of collecting money ?
  • I know absolutely nothing regarding finances and accounts and stuff, but I think you register as a 'friendly society' whatever that is, is that a charity?
  • Didn't Palace also go down this route ?
