Is he British at the moment?

    :-)
No. He's scotch. And I hope he loses badly and pulls out of wimbledon.

I think you mean "he's Scottish"
    No i meant Scotch.
I know, why bother calling ethnic/racial groups by their correct names right ? Let's just stick to the ones that are hundreds of years out of date (and borderline offensive)

@andy_murray to @WayneRooney: thanks for the support, all the best for the euros looking forward to it!

    The English hating t**t eh?
He turned up on soccer am spouting how he would support anyone playing against england in the world cup. Doesn't come across well, don't particularly like the man.

Playing to the crowd I think on a kids/crap show.
I would imagine he is Scottish first just as I am South London Charlton Englander first.
I haven't got a problem with the guy, comes across a little moody but hes a tennis player not grinning Cheshire cat.

It's good to see him play more aggressively which he needs to do to be in contention for any slams - his forehand and consistency of 1st serve have definitely been worked on.

I think he'll lose to the clay specialist Ferrer tomorrow but, injuries apart, I think he's got a chance at Wimbledon this year with these improvements.

It's not really offensive, just ignorant.

Some of you people really make me smile.I couldn'nt give a rat's arse if he is Scottish, welsh or from the Isle of Man,he is british and will get my support wherever he plays. How many of you supported the Queen over the weekend, where are her ancestors from? Are we supporting the England cricket team against the West Indies? Where are Pieterson.Trott,Strauss from.I agree with se9addick Scotch is just ignorant.

I couldn't care less either whether he is Scottish , English , Irish or German - i dislike the man because he's a miserable , churlish and an extremely unlikable bad loser. He barely opens his mouth when being interviewed and for that reason , i don't support him.

    Shame on you WSS.
Shame on me for what? Rehashing the same thing people have said every year when the bloke starts doing well?

    It's just bloody boring.

I am really glad he is a bad loser that makes him all the more determined to go all out to win.He is not very charismatic,i give you that, and one could describe him as a bit surly. But he has the best chance of any BRITAIN since Fred Perry to win majors on a regular basis.Nobody really knows what he is like in private, apart from his family.I would suggest it is a bit churlish to judge him just on his public personna and the fact he is a bad loser. We have had enough good losers through the years.

Isn't this the same bloke who when he wins he's scottish but when he loses his British! Only support English players and pretty sure in Scotland and Wales the feelings mutual to only support their own.

Looks like Tsonga might dump Djokovic out, possibly. Great match at the moment, plus I really dislike Djokovic!

Wow, Djokovic is immense, How did he save those four match points? Amazing!

So a Scot doesn't like us, get in the queue lad. What galls these people most of all is that we couldn't give a tupenny f*!k what they think.
Devolute them,we've got the oil, good luck with exporting tartan & Irn Bru.

Forgive me,I've been on the scotch.

Some idiot's quote - Scotch is a drink. ie Bells, Teachers, Famous Grouse. Andy Murray is Scottish!

No dear boy, scotch is whisky,Murray is Scottish but he's also a Scot.

"scotch" is a product, Scottish is the race of people. Scots can also be used but nowadays generally refers to the Scots "language" (speech marks intended!)

Can't believe Tsonga screwed that up, I
love watching him play though. Don't think Murray can win this tournament but agree he had really progressed so far this year and hopefully that bodes well for Wimbledon and more importantly the US.

On a personal note, I'm a big Murray fan but I'm not really bothered if some don't like him - particuarly if those reasons are petty and/or ignorant. If I can just about live in a world with Palace fans I know I can live with Murray haters !

Well I agree that Andy Murray should have been a little more circumspect when he made the comment about England but that boy is one hell of a tennis player in any other era he would have won 4-5 majors by now his dissection of Gasquet was brilliant. Agree though Curb_it Djokovic is really something else he doesn't have the total game of Federer in his prime but he must be one of the toughest competitors in any sport. The way he wriggled out of all those match points against last night was impressive. Physical fitness is one thing but his mental strength at the moment is just beyond compare.

every single point he losses he clutches his back like he's really injured. Never does it after he wins a point. Bloody hate him, come on Ferrer
