Although if we are being daft, Nick Powell from Crewe would appeal far more than Rhodes. Young player of the year, player of the year, League 2 academy product of the year. We've got bob all chance of getting him, though.
If wikipedia is correct bwp has scored 30 league goals in 62 apps which it doesnt take a genius to work out this is a very impressive record. Im aware the main concern is his chances to goals ratio but I firmly believe bradley is a confidence player who with the support of the fans is as good as any finisher in the championship. I also believe he has formed an excellent understanding with Kerm and this is one of the main reasons he gets so many chances. He may miss too many chances but the fact hes making the runs with intelligent movement shows hes an excellent player and a massive threat to any defence. Kerm and BWP have probably formed our best strike partnership since Mendonca and Bright.
I do believe we need to sign another striker as I believe Hayes and Clarke will probably leave. I would love us to go for Simeon Jackson, Charlie Austin or maybe take a gamble on Jamie Vardy. There is absoultly no chance we will get Jordon Rhodes after Huddersfield have slapped a 5 mil price tag on him, not to mention his wages and the fact half the prem are looking at him.
I believe a confident BWP will certainly be good enough for the champ.
Some of you who think BWP misses loads of chances should take a look at LL's stats. Charlton have hardly created anymore chances than our opponents this season, yet have a far better chance to goal conversion ratio. Now that is as a team, rather than BWP in isolation, but he is nevertheless scoring in every other game, which is a very good average.
And just as well you are too young to remember Derek Hales, if you think a centre forward should be footballer first, goalscorer second!
I'll trust SCP to get it right, but would definitely like to see BWP start the season.
If you judge a striker just on goals scored then you are a fool.
speechless...............
as for a striker i guess le fondre, baldock most probably will not be needed next season. Both good young strikers who gets goal, that's if goals are important lol.
I was out with Harry Kane's brother on Saturday, he enjoys it at Millwall (mainly because he's playing and scoring) but doubt he'll be there next year.
If Spurs miss out on CL he could very well stay at WHL but half the Championship (and us) have enquired, as well as Reading since they secured promotion.
Cheers for the info WSS, I'd imagine that's the case, but it's worth sniffing around especially depending on what Levy gives to wasteful 'Arry. If they get in Europe I'd imagine he's a cert for a European squad number, just because of their shit strike force, especially without Adebayor: that goes for Europa or Champions League qualifiers. The only way I suppose we're a better bet than Reading is if he becomes available in winter time.
Says in the Sun that Kyle Lafferty from Rangers would be available for 500K after a bust up with Ally M'coist...He would be decent but doubt we could come close to affording his wages
Seen watford play a few times this season, their lad Troy Deeney looks a right handful, scored shitload of goaals for walsall before moving to watford last year.
I think a few people have had too much fizzy pop and Championship manager. We've got four forwards that have played at that level. There's no way this board will be repeating the sins of their predecessors and busting the budget on some of the ridiculous suggestions. If players have the choice: and most of the decent ones do, they'll plump for a premiership side or at least a parachuting side that can pay the bucks, not a league one team. If we'd done this exercise at the start of September nobody would have Kermo on the list, but he's been our best acquisition, so let's just wait and see and hold off on the ambilition to sign Del Piero on a free or pick up some middle aged bloke that's scored every eight minutes in the Armenian second diviion.

OK, we got Varney, Iwelumo, any other players that cost us a packet and didn't do it for us that we should bring back to the Charlton Old Lags club? No thanks.
Some people have short memories- BWPs early season form showed he has it in him to be a fantastic striker. I have faith in SCP to get that back. Yann is class -we do need another striker but I think a BWP/Kermogant combo will surprise a lot next season.
While BWP's not the best he does get into goalscoring positions and we create chances for him.
I remember it was said a few years ago 30% goals to shots is a good percentage for strikers and that shows.
That's a fascinating stat. Clarke and Hayes are deadly! Obviously though the two things missing is:
1. The striker's propensity to shoot (BWP will snatch at a half chance, while some might try to get it under control and lay it off). 2. The striker's ability to get into positions. Much as I like him I can't see Hayes giving defenders a clean set of heels and getting in on goal. Possibly why he and Leon did their best work at teams playing a different system.
Katlego Mphela...South African International who plays for Sundowns in the PSL (South African League) he is lightning quick and is desperate for a move to England. Would be available on the cheap. Would be a great signing IMO
I have always rated Maynard, we need a nippy striker like him to feed off Kermogant. I have my reservations about BWP at a higher level. However I was very impressed with Beavon of Wycombe. I think we need a few players with Championship experience mixed in with the nuggets from the lower divisions

Remember BWP doesn't take penalties, not sure about others:
Evans 137 shots 29 goals 21% goals to shots
Rhodes 115 - 35 - 30%
BWP 114 - 22 - 19%
Beavon 87 - 20 - 23%
Madine 64 - 18 - 28%
Yann 65 - 11 - 17%
Lisbie 55 - 12 - 22%
Clarke 30 - 9 - 30%
Hayes 31 - 9 - 29%

followed by angry posts on here about how his name is Tshabalala not Shalalalala...
Drogba was unplayable against Barca last night, reminded me of Kermorgant.
