As said above I think BWP has found his level, misses far to many chances, at championship level you may only get one or two chances a match and they need to be converted and I don't think he is capable of it.
As for who to bring in I think Rhodes but doubt he would come to us.
If West Ham go up, maybe we could take a chance on Baldock as can't see him getting much game time in the Premiership.
Personally don't see why there seems to be a strong feeling BWP will not step up, despite a patchy goal record since November, he was on fire before and imho his all round game and much maligned work rate have improved. He is older and more experienced than his previous spell in the second tier and I would hope we'll be a better side creating more chances than Saints and Plymouth when he was with them. Maybe he will struggle but 22 in 41 league starts is very impressive and players with worse ratios have stepped up.
Rumour is we're in pole position for Rhodes but no prem team has shown any more interest in him since Jan. Personally can't see it happening think a prem team will take a gamble on him

I'd love to see him make the step up .. it'll save us a lot of money and would go a long way to retain this season's team spirit .. myself, I think he'll either be a big hit, OR a total disaster. I am really, really hoping that Smith will prove to be a good investment

Do you think Smith would be ready for next season? Scored a lot at Accrington but that is League Two, personally think he still needs a couple more seasons in the lower leagues.

See this is exactly my problem about our fans and the views of BWP this season. He has scored 22 in 41 yes, but if you put someone else in his position I think they would have scored more. It's not just about the amount of goals you score but how well you play. Look at Kermorgant, 11 goals this season but in my opinion twice the player of BWP. Yann gets on the ball, he holds it up and distributes it very well. BWP gets the ball he either loses it very quickly or attempts what is generally a poor pass. There's no coincidence that in most of BWPs goals he has only ever had one or two touches before he scores.
It is important not to just look at the goal count but to look at how the players actually play.

BWP may have missed more chances since November time than he did before, but its the old saying about "being there to miss them". His movement is excellent and defenders certainly won't like facing him. Best goalscorer we have had since Darren Bent and 2nd best striker in League 1 behing Rhodes.
Yann and BWP are so different, we would not be 1st if it was not for both of them together.
I think I will talking about BWP now before I get too annoyed and start being counter productive. I will say one last thing about him. I think what annoys me the most about him is how much he gets rated compared to how good he actually is.

Where is this rumour?
From inside the club; was right about most things last summer and the cook signing, although did tell me jacko wouldnt play again this season from his last injury, which obviously didn't materialise as he played an important role towards the end (even though clearly not 100% match fit)

Really? we would not be in the Championship if it was not for him- FACT!

A huge part of being a striker is getting into those positions. What makes BWP useful is the fact he gets himself into the kind of positions where he can have 5 chances and score 2. He doesn't always score but a striker who gets himself into the right spot at the right time beats the striker who scores with every shot but is never in the right place. It's daft to say other strikers would have scored more in his position
Owen and Kermit up top gets a yes for me... Could do with a bit more pace though. As for Raheem Sterling, yes please... Even if it's to sit on the bench, looks a very good player to me

The guy we should have signed instead of Gray
