Me & Davestorry wouldnt get pitchside without having to turn back to use the facilities, so your pretty safe with us. The amount of beer consumed is worrying on a normal last game without one involving promotion and possibly as champions. ; )
I think the club need to put this message out in every outlet they can i.e. match day programme, tannoy announcements, even signs round the pitch because there are a lot of fans that do not read this board.
I dont think the club would be worried about a small fine however not to see the trophy presented would be gutting if we are to be champions
Ketman, could your Dad advise how many other clubs over the past 20 years have been fined for over jubilant pitch celebrations?
It happens at almost every ground every last home game of the season & I can't recall the FA ever fining a club. They may threaten to, but not aware of actualyl fining anyone. The FA would surely be on very shaky ground trying to fine Charlton when you can already point to several examples this season (such as in the FA Cup) where it's occured.
i don't know why everyone is getting so worked up, just like the hosepipe ban, smoking in toilets, standing, taking kids out of school. alcohol on coaches.
rothko - i don't believe anyone is on about running on the pitch for the last game, its the fact that the FA want to take action for the Carlisle pitch invasion.
Regardless of what one might think about the FA, I'm flying back from Vienna to see the presentation, and I will be soooooooo monumentally p'd off if a few idiots ruin it.
Sod the FA, but please respect the wishes of the club, players, and majority of fans.
Nice sentiment, however the majority of supporters don't read CL or buy a programme, so unless there is a tannoy announcement during the game, I cant see this message filtering down to the masses. Also I was there in 74? as a 10 year old when we won promotion against Preston, we all went on the pitch, it was a great occasion, the memory has stayed with me since, I think to deny our supporters this little bit of fun devalues being a football supporter, I will however respect the views of the initial poster, but if the pitch does get invaded by the majority....hmm....
Hartlepool couldn't care less, not our rivals, nothing to play for.
But think back to the game where Fortune sent Palace down at the Valley, it would quickly have got ugly if Charlton fans had invaded the pitch after the game. Or if they had equalised, and their fans invaded the pitch. There have got to be some rules about this (even if they aren't always inforced. Fencing was brought in because of pitch invasions, and that led to Hillsborough.
P'raps the fish could tow a message stating "Keep off the grass" or something similar. Everybody looks out for the fish, so everone will see the message. Simples.
I knew this was coming but why do we have such idiots on this board complaining about running on the pitch at Carlisle fuck sake enjoy the moment however way you want. Although like I have said before I bet the ob have a field day with their filming they did
What a nanny state we live in. It's such a shame that the fans can't go on to celebrate a momentous occasion with the players and each other. I wasat Carlisle and unfortunately didn't go on to the pitch, instead standing watching from the stand soaking up the atmosphere, but was in full support of those that did. Those that went on to the pitch at Carlisle were never going to cause any trouble, is was clear in their eyes that the only emotion they had joy. Some rules are there to be broken and on Saturday i feel it was acceptable. Maybe it isn't necessary for the rest of the season as the peak joy moment has now passed. I'm still looking forward to the Hartlepool game where the players can share with our home support, what they have worked a whole season to achieve.

I get a feeling that every club gets a standard response for a pitch invasion. We're not being treated any differently.
Perhaps but it would be good to have that confirmed.
It does all smack of breaking a butterfly on a wheel especially when even violent transgressions by other clubs seem to lead to suspended fines.
I do agree with Ooh Aah although I wouldn't have phrased it the way he has. For whatever reason we don't hear or read about other clubs being dealt with in this way. That is perhaps because our Club communicates with its fans better than most.
It maybe that our little invasion got a lot more coverage on Sky as it was celebrating the first promotion of the season and on a day when few of the Sky 5 or 6 were playing. And like the good knee jerk reaction organisation they are the FA got on the phone/Email. Or it could be that this is a standard fine that is doled out dozens of times every season.
I would love to have an email of the person at the FA responsible so as to ask the question direct.
I don't blame Ketman's dad or the Club one little bit, they are quite rightly protecting the Club from further action and going out of their way to let fans know. They are also protecting the fans who encroached which is to be applauded (I can give you names though Mick if there is a reward : - )

Anything from now on will be premeditated, and treated differently.
