If we win Tuesday then everything will be looking very rosey again. Defeat though and the trip to Hudds will suddenly look very menacing esp if Weds win again- they have an easy looking home game on paper
Another point in the bag and another game gone. 9 points clear of Wednesday with a much better goal difference, which is nearly worth a point. IMO the Sheffield clubs will be too busy watching each other and trying to outdo each other that they won't be thinking about us just yet. Those teams below us are under tremendous pressure as any slip up and they are out of the top two. We created a massive gap at the top to allow for this scenario, to allow a couple of defeats with no harm done. The big lead wasn't accumalated so we could stride on and make the gap an even bigger one! So it is still very much ours and it will be come May. Still happy days.
Agree that currently the real battle is between the two Sheffields.
Put yourself in their position........as things stand, they'll see that one of them will get automatic promotion - and the other "consigned to the lottery of the playoffs."
Cliches aside, any stumble by either side from now on will MASSIVELY increase the pressure they are both under.
I was sitting in the 2nd row by the penalty incident and it was obvious that there was a problem between Hamer & Morrison, as Hamer shouted and Morrison just ignored him and it happened again, so it wasn't just a one off.
Agreed LL, definite shout, definite decision to ignore it.
Morro had a shocker and on a handful of occasions got into trouble not heeding a call or not communicating himself.
Get back to basics Morro because you have been the best centre half in the league this season and pretty much faultless until about twenty past 3 last Saturday.
Addickjohn March 17 said ''I was at the game today and noticed only half the team applauded the away fans at the end of the game. And I can't say I blame those players who went straight off. Some of our so-called supporters at the game need a reality check. No game is easy at this level. We didn't play well, but constant moaning at misplaced passes doesn't help the players. So far this season it's been easy to get behind the team - now is when they really need it - so come on prove you are real supporters and do so''.
Great comment mate, I agree 100%, I sit in lower west stand and bloke nearby moans about BWP, last home game against Notts County crusified Hamer, no one has a poor game on purpose, I think the County game was a one-off and perhaps a wake up call! Will be shouting my head off for the lads on Tuesday night, will try and wake up some of the other supporters, Charlton need us more than anything now. Noticed Wednesday took 4,500 to Notts County yesterday, must have been like the 12th man. Lets all get behind these lads who have had a great season and get them back to form like the second half against Stevenage!
I was at the game and didn't hear moaning but there was the usual vocal support, if slightly more muted than at Chesterfield which given the difference in the performances is not surprising. The point is well made but you don't hear anywhere near the moaning away as you do at The Valley. Either way now is the time for the supporters to up the ante and play our part starting on Tuesday when we don't need negative stuff from the stands!
It sounds as though I missed out on an awful match in order to go and watch a bit of rugby. An away point against an improving team which is struggling against relegation is a point well earned. At this point of the season performances don't mean a thing as it's points that mean (give us a big brucie cheer or fart or whatever) PRIZES and promotions
there are some people blind to the fact that we are showing awful form as we come into the run in. i agree keep faith but anything less than a win on tuesday could be destructive with huddersfield on saturday. abysmal the last 4 games including the great bournemouth robbery of 2012. this is a race for automatic promotion as much as it is a race for the title as we have let third close us. not looking forward to tuesday one bit the nerves have begun to set in and i just pray yeovil have a tactical off day as now have no faith we can break them or any team at home down. praying to god i'm wrong and will get behind them as much as i can. this is just the way i feel at the moment.

This is bang on. We are not playing well and our game plan is widely known.
Here is a reality check........
Jacko is carrying a knock and is not the same as he was earlier in the season. I saw in the warm-up yesterday that he plays with a stretch bandage on his calf, and had his foot in ice once he came off yesterday.
BWP has picked up in the last couple of games, but was incredibly lazy since the start of the year. You don't need a genius to tell you that YK is going to win a flick header - so just be ready to run on to it, but he has been unwilling to do this properly IMO.
Hamer - needs to realise he was released by a CCC club and has been standing behind one of the best defences in the league. All that hero stuff has gone to his head and he has made comedy schoolboy errors in recent games.
Stephens - not the same player after coming back from injury. Wiggy - Prem class, but looking jaded Hollands - good game at Scunny, first decent game for a while - looking tired. Green - we need to play to his strengths and he will develop.
Having said that, we are still 9 points ahead with 9 games to go. Three more clean sheets should do the trick.

Well i didnt hear much moaning yesterday and definitely no booing, some players never appreciate the fans unless we win they are just as fickle as some of the fans.

Agree with this and the other posts along the same lines. We are still 9 points clear with a superior gd. The pressure is more on them than us. You can guarantee it that they would rather be in our position than where they currently are. We've already done a lot of the hard work. Now let's pick up points now and then and we'll be over the line. 9 more should do it.
They can play with freedom cause their chasing, if it gets close, lets see how they fair, now they've caught United it becomes a different thing for Wednesday now
Our nerves are jangling and so are those of Both Sheffield clubs. As it get closer to one of those two missing out on auto to their biggest rivals the nerves up there will be massive.
That's right Six Months we've been top of the league
Great stat,Henry ..
...but the downside to that is what a HUGE disappointment/tragedy it would be if that was turned around in the last few games of the season.
Not saying that's going to happen but as I posted in another thread, if you'd seen recent away performances as well as the last 2 at home, maybe you'd share my nerves at this moment in time .
I have only seen 7 away games this season from MK Dons to Scunny yesterday but I haven't noticed much difference in effort, desire or commitment in the players. What I have noticed is how teams are up for the challenge against the runaway leaders and possibly one or two tired legs and minds in our side. I could have got involved last night with a poster on here who was bemoaning the fact that we should've beaten a 19th placed team. I'm sorry no team has got the devine right to beat anybody irrespective of their legue position it's all about performances on the day and Scunthorpe were a match for us. Charlton teams of the past would have folded yesterday and this current one didn't, I should know I have seen enough of them over the last 50+ years. Another poster said it was a sh*t match, no it wasn't because any neutral would have enjoyed the 'match up' between top and bottom and all sorts of weird results get thrown up between such teams at the business end of the season. Had Waggy converted that sitter late in the 2nd half I wonder, just wonder what the reaction would have been daylight robbery a la Bournemouth or another professional ground out win away from home..........hmmm. I'm no rose tinted glasses man but I am confident that this group, management and players who have had a little wobble of late will build on yesterdays result and see us over that finishing line starting with 3 points on Tuesday night. The last thing they need right now is for people to start getting on their backs which is counter productive but I have no doubt the moans and groans will be ringing out if it doesn't quite go to plan v Yeovil.
I was not bemoaning the fact we should have beat Scunthorpe you muppet. We were played off the park by the team in19th that was the issue not the result.
Save the insults buddy for your little mates. You were trying to sell your Scunny train and match ticket straight after the defeat to Notts County some fan you are!

Lose Tuesday and we may end up in the Play offs
Id much prefer that going into the Huddersfield game
