Well it was a ragged game. We started off brightly the move that led to BWPs goal was sublime, excellent movement of the ball, cracking cross and an excellent finish by BWP.
Morrison should have cleared his lines, didn't, lost possession made it easy for the ref to award a penalty. Duff on the wing for Scunnie was excellent he gave Wiggins a torrid time. Our ability to get our full backs overlapping has diminished recently and today that was plainly evident. Kermogant didn't get his range in today though he thumped a header into the 6 yard box only for the ball to end up under Waggie's studs and trickle into the keepers hands. Too much predictable long ball, given their strength in the air, though when we did get it down we again showed we can open up the opposition though we lacked final penetration.
Scunnie are a big bruising side, Thompson and Parkin played to there brutish strengths and they did at times play football. Murphy in their central defence mopped up big time in the air.
Pleased with a draw, 9points ahead of Sheffields, Carlisle the game for promotion
I was at the game today and noticed only half the team applauded the away fans at the end of the game. And I can't say I blame those players who went straight off. Some of our so-called supporters at the game need a reality check. No game is easy at this level. We didn't play well, but constant moaning at misplaced passes doesn't help the players. So far this season it's been easy to get behind the team - now is when they really need it - so come on prove you are real supporters and do so!
On the train home. Until the penalty, which in my opinion was brought about by a terrible mistake by Morro (completely ignored Hamer's call and then passed it to them along the goalline) and a blatant dive we were looking dominant and should have been more than 1 up. After we only really had one chance - wagstaff missed an absolute gimme 5 yards out unmarked ball rolled across to him.
Scunthorpe really out muscled us and played some good football down the wings. Hollands must be knackered as I have not been impressed with him for a few games. Wiggins has been quiet. Jackson obviously playing unfit and got taken off injured. Russell was probably our best player first half and had a shocker in the second. We gave the ball away so much in central midfield (when they had the chance to given that we just resorted to pumping endless long balls up to yann bwp or noone).
Don't know what has happened to Morro this week but he just needs to get back to basics.
On balance Hamer or Solly were probably our best players today.
Forward and left sided midfielder in on loan this week please.
Think cp may be rueing that he hasn't got cover for jacko, think he needs a good rest but the team seems not to function without him a real dilemma. Wonder if stephens could sit there and give him a break for a week, dunno really, but something needs to change and quickly

The team can function without Jackson. Huddersfield at home for example. You just have to avoid sticking a square peg in a round hole. If he isnt fit get someone in on loan to cover him.
For the first 15 mins we were very good, 1st to that tackle, passing quickly and accurately and then a great Waggy BWP goal. Then it all went wrong, Hamer called loudly for the ball, Morrison ignored him, a Scunny player got the ball, Morrison tackled him and he fell over, Parkin scored the penalty. After that we matched Scunthorpe in kicking and heading the ball up in the air but didn't match them in endeavour or the will to win. The only players that came out of the game with credit were Hamer, Waggy, the fullbacks and BWP for scoring.
It was better then Bournemouth or Tranmere, but not by much.

This.
Scunthorpe are a very tough outfit and have some recent form. Physically they are big (Parkin = giant) and were in the mix all game. we didn't manage to play the ball on the ground any time after our goal, unfortunately, because that was going to be the only way through. their aerial presence is immense. that said it's another point and sheff u, stay 9 points behind. We will pick up more wins and maybe 4 will be enough to get over the imaginary line to football heaven. One aim.
Perhaps it not for me to comment on our tactics when I wasn't there but it does worry me a bit to read about their dominance in the air and yet we still hit it long and high. Sounds basic common coaching sense to me to instruct us to play a passing game and therefore eliminate an area of the oppositions strength. I can't understand that at all. It's not as if we are incapable of playing to that style. Not so much no plan B but more lack of awareness which SCP will have to learn pdq?
We are still in a good position but the Yeovil game is now huge especially with Huddersfield away to follow. Lets hope we can finally get it right on a Tuesday night for a change
just see the goals on sky a very neat tuck home by bradley from a waggy cross but a tame penalty given away by wiggins ....although the sky fella said 'a foul on wiggins by thompson gave scunthorpe a penalty'
We were having the wobbles a while back, but a lot of people didn't want to acknowledge it. This is a good point under any circumstances though. Had to stop looking at twitter, people who never go to games being idiots.
I cant be anything other than happy overall with the day, 9 points clear with 9 to go, 91 other league clubs would swap places with us right now, we are limping over the line but a win on Tuesday and we will back on track
This has got to be the most ridiculous thing written on here for a while. Why would any club in the two divisions above us want to swap with us ( except Portsmouth)?
Don't quite see how the other results went our way. Our two rivals got a point and three points respectively so we're worse off than before the game. Still, if we get a point a game they'd have to get over two a game to overtake us. That statistic alone shows that we've still got a huge lead.
Depends if you look at it as champions or just promotion though. Only Wednesday gained on us, no one else. For them to be chipping away at our promotion spot at least 2 of the following pack need to get more points than us. One aim - Promotion, and as champs would be the icing.
I look at it as promotion and for that I see only two teams who could worry us. When we get to the point that there is only one team within reach then I'll be happy.
I hardly worry about Huddersfield or MKDons results anymore. For me they are off the radar.

Bet Man Utd are gutted they cant swap places with us

My dear Jim it was meant to be taken in relation to their league position and not the position of their league, I do apologise for being so un specific but thrilled mine was ridiculous enough to be considered your most ridiculous thing written on here for a while, thats quite an accolade given some of the threads and I will dine out on it for some time !-)
Just got back posting without reading what has been said above. Started brightly had them on the back foot and scored a good goal following interplay between Solly and Waggy with the latter putting over a delicious cross for BWP to bury on the volley (I think). Scunny threatened through the lively Duffy who was my overall MOM and is one for SCP new recruits shortlist this summer. Instead of controlling the game we let them back in with a gift of a goal when Morrisson commiitted the cardinal schoolboy error of trying to pass to Wiggins along the dead ball line in his own penalty area notwithsdtanding a loud call from Hamer to leave it! Wiggins was sold short, Thompson nipped in, Wiggy hardly touched him, Tommo went down as if he had been shot and the joke of a ref gave the pen. Gift wrapped equaliser and it was game on. Scunny grew more and more into the game and in the end it was a point gained rather than two lost IMO. The results sort of went for us again we've stopped the rot and the doom and gloom merchants can relax a little as today's performance whilst not brilliant was workmanlike and getting back to the way results have been crafted on the road this season. Its not champagne football but I don't give monkeys it's another point on the board. Onto Yeovil now and a much needed home win pleeeease! Away support played it's part and BDL would have been proud the way we got behind the boys. COYR

Win at home on Tuesday even better. We need the fans to support the team though!

No greater dedication to the cause has any CAFC fan ever shown!
