    Again. We'll make it right
  • Bum bum.
Too complacent at the start of both the last too matches.

Need a change up in midfield and to come out firing next week.
  • Lets start with a positive- Second half was excellent!!! If we play like that for the whole match we'll be fine.

Yeah so what we lost... we're still 10 points clear and a kick up the bum may be just what we need

This is the part of the season where we need everone behind us!!!

COYR LETS GO ON AND STORM THIS LEAGUE!!!!!
  • Jacko
    Hollands
    Stephens
    Morrison
    Taylor
    Hamer
    Wiggins
    Powelly
    Were shit

    That's why we lost
  • Wasn't there due to bad cold. Perhaps not such a bad thing. No wrist slitting for me. Use this as the motivation and catalyst to get back on track and get focused again for the run in. Another positive I take is that it lets the management and board see that when we are in the Championship next season we will have to strengthen. Onwards and definitely upwards for me. COYR
  • Who's coaching hamer? Just hope CP and Co learn something from today. Frustrating!!!
  • Need to play the 2nd half first - something that has been said about this team before.

Somehow CP has to do or say something to steady the ship. Have the players started thinking about their summer holidays or are they just tired?
  • Must admit I'm a little bit worried by all this. There's still plenty of time for this season to go horribly wrong. Hopefully we'll get our mojo back soon & kick on again. COYR
  • Nottingham 7 - S E London 3
  • I think it's tiredness.

However doesn't help when your no.1 and captain are both nursing injuries.

  • Far too complacent. Defending for the 2, 3, 4 was laughable from the two centre halves and most particularly hamer.

They need to be peeled off the walls in that dressing room and all week on the training pitch and reminded the season ends in may not march. If we have any aspiration beyond just making the championship we need to be ruthless and not settle for a mathematical dawdle towards promotion.

Speaks volumes Clarke never came on. Powell has done a lot of great things this season but alienating Hughes and knackering up our striker choices are huge negatives.

Striker on loan this week please we can't carry on with the 3 and a hamstrung haynes as our only options.
  • Is it going to be an eye opener though? What was tuesday then?

    Worried of E14.
  • bring hayes back
  • Yep - terrible run we have been on.

    8 games in 25 days, 4 wins, 2 draws & 2 losses.

Lets not over react here - sounds like a terrible first half - our first real shocker of the season

Those wittering on about complacency - have absolutely no idea what they are talking about & have probably never played the game & realize that in the heat of the battle it's very difficult to be "complacent" when the opposition is snarling in your face & up for claiming the prize scalp in the league at the moment.

Unless you are there in the dressing room pre-game & have witnessed Powell, lounging around, smoking a cigar & dishing out Holiday brochures to the starting eleven, how on earth do you know these players are complacent - absolutely knackered I will give you. I would imagine that after the loss on Tuesday - a wake up call, his main message today would have been focus, concentration and not thinking we have won the league already. Maybe we were over anxious to put that one right, the complete opposite of complacency.

We simply came up against a team in very, very good form & probably panicked after going 2 down.

If I have one criticism of Powell, its maybe the fact that he could have rotated the squad a little more during the last 4 weeks, but then up until Tuesday we were unbeaten in 6 during this crazy spell of games - so why change a winning team.

7 days rest now before Scunthorpe & i really fear for them, they are going to be in for one hell of a test from a fired up Charlton team.

  • posted this on another thread-:
Lets chill out a bit......we have played sat/tues for ages now (not all teams have) now we have a week until our next game..... we are away from home next and perhaps we just need that 'kick up the bum' and a good rest........role on next Saturday!! We will be ok in my humble opinion.....we played well 2nd half...and perhaps we were still reeling from the loss on Tuesday at the start of the game....we are 10 points clear at the top.....7 if Utd win their game in hand.....11 from 3rd place and 14 from 4th...

Forget Hayes. Don't think SCP fancies him.
  • First half was a disgrace, a performance I thought I would never see from this team. No effort or commitment ( apart from Bradley) and the defence were just getting caught out every time. Hamer was badly at fault for the third. For about 15 minutes in the second half I thought we could do it and Bradley was all over the pitch but after that it fizzled out. Still not worried but if we lose next week...
  • Continue playing like the first half we are not going up. Simples
  • So you have to have played the game to understand the meaning of complacency? Like having Ray Houghton on here.
  • It's getting more and more likely that we will throw promotion away. Abysmal Game!

  • Shocks me what AFKA said about the people using this site generally being a bit older as no-one seems to remember what a real rubbish season looks like. We even had one last year. Chins up eh. First time we've lost two in a row all season. Our nearest competitor just lost 3 in 4 up til today.

Don't worry, stop your knees knocking, and look forward to the next match. I am

  • Really if you havent played you should just sit at the back and nod...
  • First half was simply embarrassing, no idea what the second one was like as we left at HT....

    Move on
  • So you have to have played the game to understand the meaning of complacency? Like having Ray Houghton on here.
so here we have a squad that has battled and fought all season to get us to 78 points, 11 points clear - that have suddenly changed from the kind of characters that go up and win at places like Hillsborough & Bramall Lane - to a bunch of lazy, unprofessionals that think they can stroll around & win without getting out of 3rd gear

    all within a week

i can buy that we could have been complacent on Tuesday, why would we be complacent today after that result - we knew we were up against a form side

  • Thankful there's no midweek game. 7 days to steady the ship and start again at Scunny. We've just played the in form team in the division and results like this happen sometimes.
  • Next 2 games are huge before huddersfield away
  • Really if you havent played you should just sit at the back and nod...
No, but you should have just a tiny bit of faith in a manager who has worked absolute miracles this season. I have faith that Chris Powell doesn't send out a bunch of complacent players to represent my club.

  • Unfortuantely the results now match the performance. We were playing poor and getting wins, then draws and now we lose !!! I don't know the answer but CP gets paid to know it. Best he sorts it out before this massive blip becomes a full blown disaster.

Forget Hayes. Don't think SCP fancies him.
Besides, we can't recall him until he's been at wycombe for a month.

Very frustrating first half. Defence were all over the place, Hamer looks completely out of confidence and midfield just didn't put in a shift and were run ragged by what I must admit, were an impressive County side.

Second half was so much better as we grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and went searching for an impossible come-back.

Must add that the fans in the north upper were quality and backed the team for 90 mins..............
