  • So Orient have a Nike kit. So much for big deal then.

    Nice and simple design though.
  • I don't like those O's ones. Look very catalogue to me.
  • Red one looks like arsenals kit
  • I can't do links from this phone but the new France Nike kit would be good . Obviously in red
  • Like the Orient home shirt.

More surprised they have picked up Samsung as a sponser to be honest.
  • Didn't you read the 442 season preview? They're going up.
  • As long as it's plainish red shirt, plainish White shorts and red socks I'll behappy. No return to that terrible Joma kit covered in White. In fact, a copy of the current kit would be great!
  • I wouldn't be shocked if this Nike rumour is rubbish and we end up with Macron again next season, which imo wouldn't be the end of the world.
  • Given up trying to link the France kit , can anyone else do it ? It's quality , very plain a bit like the last England kit

  • Think I was looking at their old one ( much better) ;0)
  • The new Nike Holland kits (home & away) are both really nice as well. Not that we'll get anything original!

doubt it obviously the players have been told
  • Nike will be excellent for us. People always insisted that the loss of a fee from having an unknown make made it silly to choose Nike or Adidas. They forget that Grimsby had Nike, and they were no footballing financial power! And they also forget that we had Adidas in the 80s. I remember a club shop guy about 5 years telling me we weren't big enough to have a big name brand. Wha about Grimsby then!? This year's kit has been the best for a while in that I expected it to return from the wash each time. The Joma kits were awfully designed (not for humans I don't think) and fell apart but macron has been better. However, I wear a large, have NO guns and the sleeves are still too tight!?

Catalogue kit or no catalogue kit, Nike WILL fit. You know what you're getting with a NIke kit; it won't fall apart and it'll be a decent size. I do agree that it will also be attractive to non- Charlton fans. Sadly though, charlton kits are hardly available in jd sports these days!

Finally, it will also, IMO, attract a better quality of merchandise to the club shop. Like it or not, people will buy more stuff - the crap jackets and general merchandise in there for the past 10 years hasn't been worth much. But we try to buy it as we want to help our club. IMO, that will negate the lack of a kit wearing fee by a brand.

you may like it better if it was red with our badge on it

  • Looks like something Tiger Woods would wear.
  • I really do hope it's Nike (or Adidas or Umbro) as I wouldn't feel like a complete plonked buying a track suit and sweatshirts with our name on them. Despite the fact that Macro was decent quality, it still looked cheap, in my opinion.
  • He's a Charlton fan?
Maybe he's not such a knob after all.
  • Good work Sam

Which just proves that any club can BUY a Nike kit. What the big clubs ie not Palace, Grimsby or see above Orient don't get is PAID to wear a Nike or Adidas kit the way that Man Utd or France do.

That's why West Ham wear Macron and Orient have Nike despite West Ham being the bigger club and selling far more shirts. Ditto Leeds and Barnsley.

Now maybe the Club have brokered a deal with Nike where they pay us or maybe they think that they think we can make more money from selling Nike accessories than Macron. Not sure we'll ever know but as Grimsby and Orient prove Nike kit does not equal big deal.

  • If it's a catalogue Nike Kit, don't expect Nike tracksuits in the shop, I think the company who supply the stuff give you Avec training kit, if Barnsley and Palace's site seem to show
  • If it's a choice between the "french" or the "orient" version, I would far prefer the former. The orient ones are dreadful!
  • I'd prefer a Canterbury kit.

    LMAO.
  • Dazzler, that is shocking. West brom away circa 2000.

No. I don't like the sound of that at all!
  • Just checked. Palace do have some track suit tops by Nike. They also have some rank kit. There is little Nike Palace branded choice, but probably about as much as we had in Macron last year.

Fingers crossed, we will have a bit if choice.
  • it is definitely nike isnt it? which is a bit wierd coz of our macron deal! apparently all round the shop and that is being changed for our nike sponsorship next season?
Apparently Macron broke a contract agreement by selling the kit in JJB Sports, and therefore we are terminating that contract and starting one with Nike. Well we had to change all the banners/sponsor boards etc. when we moved from Joma to Macron, I'm sure that's something Nike will pay for to be honest.
Why would any Charlton fan buy a shirt from JJB and not from the Charlton Superstore or online ?

Because it was £25... was at sportsdirect any
I got my home shirt from sports direct during the summer. Must admit, I assumed the club were getting their cut from this.

    I now feel dirty........................................

  • Underpaid children in Bangladesh..

Lets fight global capitalism and have them made in a nice shop in Woolwich or get a players Mum to knit them or get a local school to design them.

The short is a big deal to just sell out to some pointless global brand.

(Err.. have I posted this before??..sorry...its my age..)

Chuck the badge and the sponsor on and I think we have the perfect kit.
