I really cannot understand how people on here continually moan about how many fans we take away and then when we sell 7,000 tickets the same people moan about how the people going are 'glory hunters'. I'm only 18 but have had a season ticket since 2001 and try to go to a few away games every year, however sometimes the thought of travelling five/six hours to an away game after a night out drinking and spending £50-100 for the privilege isn't that exciting. We should be looking at the game on Saturday with positivity and being proud of the fact that by taking 7,000 away we are still a bigger club than the likes of Millwall, Palace and also Fulham.

You may "only" be 18, but you speak a lot of sense mate.
Yes well said Sidcup-Red, and Saturday will be a great day win draw or lose because of the position we find ourselves in the league and the size of our support for the day temporary or not, I cant wait and my lad is climbing the walls with excitement about it

Well said sidcup. The morons that complain that we are taking 7000 " plastic" fans have no idea of the history of this club and would like nothing better than to be at Fulham in a crowd of 750 spilling their usual bile . They have no valid argument and are an Embarrasment to the club ..
but not looking forward to these plastic fans, which ive never seen at away games before
Thank you! I have been coated for saying we have about 6000 gloryboys going
agree with you mate, that's why im looking forward to wednesday more, proper fans
yeah i cant wait till sheffield wednesday, should be a good match with the loyal supporters
Well, I am still looking forward to Saturday, the atmosphere of a big away following, a boat trip with a few beers and mates. Am setting off on Friday morning and getting home late on Sunday. I don't intend to explain to you dick heads why I am not going to Sheff Weds or any other match or my credentials for supporting Charlton. Grow up and enjoy the day and let others do likewise. If we were to progress through to the cup final, would you still not enjoy it because there were more than 500 'plastics' supporting 'your' club?
When you have a family and responsibilities it is not always feasinle to go to all away games - doesn't mean you don't love the club any less than somebody that can and does. Supporting a team isn't a competition.
i know mate not meaning to have a pop at fans like you, but there are plenty of people only going because its fulham. I mean why less than 2k at orient and 7k at fulham.
Anyway bring on saturday
Yes, bring on Saturday! These don't often come along, enjoy the day
p.s. I wanted to go to Orient, but the KO time was stupid, I live out in the sticks near Stansted Airport
Well I'm in posh seats so I'll have my beady eye on all of you and shall look forward to seeing plenty of rucks between our own fans fighting each other!
Just so everyone is aware, anyone standing infront of me I will be punching in the back of the head. That is all.
So if i'm in front of you and am standing because the 10 rows in front of me are standing, i'll get a punch to the back of the head from you?? At least get me to turn round and hit me like a man
As has been said before, most of us have done our home and away bit and now pick and choose our away games. I've had a season ticket every year since about 83 and feel i've earnt the right to now pick and choose. I was there week in week out in the days when you felt if you didn't turn up, the team would actually miss you and i'll be introducing a lot of new youngsters to the delights of the away game tomorrow - if we look like plastics i couldn't give a monkeys.

Thats ok, he'll have to stand to hit you... so you can then punch him back into his seat. Everyone's a winner
but not looking forward to these plastic fans, which ive never seen at away games before

give me strength !!, are these 3 for real..........I'm going tomorrow, only 2nd away of the season, feel free to come and find me and call me a plastic/glory boy/proper fan
well as the punching people for standing seems to have been covered by a few on here and i like to think of myself as a trend setter rather than a follower then... i'll punch anyone near me who swears.
so lets make that clear... ANYONE WHO SWEARS NEAR ME WILL GET A PUNCH!!!
oh and my mate with me now cant stand people picking their noses in public and has asked me to say that if he sees ANYONE PICKING THEIR NOSE INFRONT OF HIM THEN THEY WILL GET A PUNCH!!!
other than that im happy for you (and also my mate is happy for you) to do what you like after that, so enjoy everyone :-)

Did my bit in the Selhurst days but then, in life other things happen and I stopped going so regularly (punch me for that).
As I'm not playing so much now and have a young son who is Charlton mad, he has re-ignited my passion again (obviously it was always there) and as well as both being ST holders (he has been since he was 7), we're now starting to get to some away games. Suspect a lot of others have been in a similar boat.
Does that make me a plastic/glory boy?
Tomorrow, most looking forward to being punched by an unknown assailant

Change the record zzzzzz
Then you better hope for your own sake your not in front of me .
This
Back to the thread title.
I'm looking forward to being at a really nice old style ground and back in the away end agaienst a prem team.
Every club in the countrys away crowds increase for the big games. Nothing diferent or new.
Got a feeling the atmosphere wont be as good as some are expecting!
Remember 94, The massive turnout down at Bristol than United after!

Moaning before the match has even kicked off.

never went fulham in the prem days so for someone that did and sat in P7...is it that bad?
cos if it is ill get a bit more laggin before the game and it wont matter either way.
Where abouts are you staying IA? Happy to buy you a beer & discuss Parky' latest manager of the month award if you fancy it?
P1 to P7. P4 is middle so P7 is at the end.

Some people on here are unbelievable.
