What you're mostly looking forward to about Saturday?

edited January 2012 in General Charlton
With the long awaited FA cup game against our in form west London neighbours upon us, we take a team with nothing to loose to the cottage.

With 7,000 bouncing addicks making there way from south to the oh so posh west what are lifers mostly looking forward to about Saturday?

P.S Sarcastic answers, Cockney sarcasm all welcome.

  • hmm nothing in particular, it's just another game. More looking forward to Wednesday away.

Positivity! One game at a time!
  • Looking forward to a game where i'm not on the edge of my seat, or looking to see how the other massive teams around us Sheff Utd Huddersfield and MK Dons are doing (not missed anyone?) as im not too bothered about the result at all oh and having a big jolly up!

  • a good old fashioned london derby away game with an early meet (drinking) start at Charing X....and not caring really about the result
  • The disco boat
  • Not giving a toss about the score, being part of an invading army of 7,000, seeing a Ground that I was last at when Johnny Haynes was playing, having my Daughter and Grandsons with me knowing that the Charlton line will go on, out- singing the home supporters, and being driven there and back on the Coach for £10 return. Barring disasters, it doesn't get any better than this folks !
  • Having a beer and not really expecting much.

  • These cup runs are giving me a chance to visit grounds I never bothered to go to when we were in the same division - Spurs last year, Fulham this.

Dreaming of a cup upset - if we play a strong team and they trot out a weak one. Hoping we don't get embarassed.

  • the famous victory
  • Thats in Portsmouth!!!

Being told to sit down by fans who never go away and are able to stand for 90 mins.

    Next Saturday's the big one.
  • Being told to sit down by fans who never go away and are able to stand for 90 mins.
    My thoughts exactly.
  • Great away atmosphere, showing Fulham a passionate set of fans, being able to relax and just have a laugh
  • Having a nice day on the beer with some mates, a good sing song, not caring too much about the result and as I am in Row YY being able to stand and not get told off.
  • few beers and bein part of a 7,000 away support whilst not really caring about the score.

when was the last time we took 7,000 away?

Yeah this always does my head in, you'll have never seen them at an away game before and you can bet your life you'll never see them at one again (unless we get Manchester United in the next round !).

Yep, me too - can't wait. Memories of 93/4 Man U away, great day out.
  • Glad you finally got your dates sorted out Cray. Cup match against Fulham beats paintballing any day in my book.
I'm looking forward to 7000+ fans cheering our team. Regardless of the result I'm going to have a great day.

I'm proud that we've sold so many for this and obviously getting to Sheffield is a lot harder and more expensive etc so the numbers won't be near as good but we haven't even shifted 1,000 yet and it's just over a week away!!

  • Last time we took anything like 7000 away must have been Operation Ewodd and we know how that ended.

  • Ewood even.
  • A good day out and don't expect anything from this match. It will be interesting to see how our how we defend as a team against a Div 1 team. Although that doesn't sound interesting, I think that this aspect of our game plan has been one of our strengths this season. Would also like to see SWP given a rest and Leon Clarke playing for the reserves.
  • day out with my son, few beers, football, sing song...doesn't get any better.

Taking my 8 year old son to see us play a Premier league side.  7000 away fans.  A drink before the game. Winning.

  • People in my seats.
  • The disco boat
After the rather surreal atmosphere at Brentford after the previous Disco boat I think this will be a winning feature of the day. Its not every game you can go to and feel like an extra in the George A Romero classic "Zombies Dawn of the Dead" as I did at Brentford. Have a good cruise Boys n Gals!
As well as this I am looking forward to us playing without fear and having a go-taking the game to Fulham and making a clear statement of intent.
    Come on You Reds!!

Is this the biggest away gate since Operation Ewood?

    Have a good everyone

the funky disco boats first ever return journey from a match should be fun... i mean weve had a good sing at anyone who'd care to listen on the banks of the thames or other boats in the past but fully expect it to reach another level on the way home after a good days boozing!

    MAN OVERBOARD!!!

  • all of the above
  • Seeing the MJ Statue
