I can't say that i agree that players at this level are greedy, they take the wad that they are able to negotiate and the clubs are willing to play. If clubs were not looking to outbid each others services then they would not get as much as they do. In this day and age a decent wage will only last for the length if a contract and these seem to be getting shorter and shorter 2 years and there is no guarantee they will be earning after that, look at Lisbie he still has not got a club.
In the Prem and maybe even at the top of the Championship a contract can make you for life but at this level it really is one contract to another until you find yourself without a club and trawling the lower / non leagues for someone to cover your mortgage.
good luck Simon. It didn't work out with us and you were out of your depth but I do believe you always tried your best whenever you played. Hope it works out better on the south coast.
No problem with Francis. An honest pro brought in during tough financial times who never hid. We have better now so time for him to move on. Good for him and us.

Also top of Bournemouth's assist chart with 10. Not sure he'd do it for a bigger club, but seems he's shown the potential Parky saw in him.
Like McCormack not as awful as some made out, to me they both looked like they couldn't handle the expectations of playing for us. Since then both have done well for two top 6 League One clubs.
He was shocking for us and a lot of people mentioned that fact.
Seemed like an honest pro but just wasn't very good.
This, on the PFA Championship Team 'No Solly' thread he was rated by me and others up there as possibly our best right back in the last 50 years. SF from what I witnessed has got to be one of the worst I'm sad to say.

And that was also the worst Charlton team fifty years...
I have a soft spot for SF - he never hid but he needed to be rested from the first team, unfortunately Solly was injured for most of that season and there was no alternative and so was kept in the starting XI for too long. In the meantime opponents targetted him and he made enough mistakes to justify the tactic.
I rated him Southend . i rated him at Charlton and I still like him I think he's a good player But just didn't get a chance at Charlton. I'm not saying I would have him over Solly but he was decent

He got 34 chances at Charlton...
The fans were on his back from the start. Same as with Halford.
Yep it was the fans on his back that made him turn like a bus, unable to trap a bag of cement, struggle to keep the ball in play let alone in possession.
Bloody charlton fans and making professional footballers suddenly lose their ability.
This guy had chances. Ill agree with the fact he was surrounded by shit but that still doesn't account for his poor technique, positional sense and all round poor performances.
Anyway, he was a trier so no hard feelings and glad he's done well for himself and Bournemouth. I will always file him under the 'nicking a living' category though.

He'll do well for you guys. He's not the best player but a good team man.
