Ironically our problem before this season for about 10 years was the left side but further up the pitch .
We miss Jackson , he gives us superb balance and allows an out and out winger on the right . I wish Reidy would improve again because having a left footer gives us extra options . On a similar subject that is one of the other qualities that Llera has brought to the side with his free kicks and distribution . He linked well with Bessone the other night.
Bessone has the confidence and ability to run with the ball.He rightly tried to cut inside a couple of times. This opens the game up and gives us a lot of attacking options. As he was caught out on at least one occasion its important Semedo covers his runs.First time I saw him and was impressed by Bessone.Left back has been a problem too long .
He's clearly got a footballing brain - as oppposed to being an athlete who can play football. We have to hope that he can keep fit. If so we have a bargain...
I don't mind players being caught out whilst they are trying to do something - As you have said it is down to others to cover this and as long as they are not silly about it - a sensible risk can result in something positive. Racon played a few misplaced passes on Tuesday night but as he was always trying something and worked to put errors right - they were totally forgivable.
How many of you now raving about him were listening to the Leeds' fans reports of him being rubbish? Can we please take this as a lesson to not write off future signings before we see them play?
The lad has played 1 full match and 2 part games for us It's great that he's making a promising start - but lets keep our cocks in our pants for a bit longer yet, eh?

Totally agree, I remember thinking Moutouakil was going to be one of the best players in the champ on his debut against Swansea. He turned out not to be.
i like the look of him based on what ive seen so far - good brain, tenacious and comfortable with both feet. I'm still not convinced he's predominantly left footed but does it rfeally matter if he can play with both? The lack of ability at full back has compounded the lack in central midfield all season so i'm all for Solly and Bessone if Jenkinson's off. big improvement on fry and the crossing 'specialist' Francis.
Not at all sure about this bloke. Doesn't get forward enough and gets caught wrong side of players time and again. Hope we can do better than him next season. Can't see why he seems to attract so many positive comments.

He was definitely targeted in the first half, but in the end didn't do too much wrong. It must be very hard when he doesn't have a proper left winger in front of him.

He was targeted because presumably Huddersfield had done their homework & knew that he is shit. What does having a proper left winger in front of him have to do with it when he is constantly caught out by the ball over the top & his undoubted ability of not being aware of players on his blind side. The biggest problem is going to be in the summer when Powell targets players of this quality..............cp has to go !
He had a torrid first 15 minutes. No doubt about it. But that was it. He didn't cost us a goal, then he improved drastically and kept the lad in his pocket. I knew a few on here would watch the first 15 minutes and be creaming their pants to post on here but over the whole game he did ok.
Anyone thinking he is lacking pace is seriously lacking brain cells or eyes!
His winger was rapid but got goal side only a couple of times and didn't actually cause any damage. Bessone may not look quick but he certainly is
As for his performance - would you bomb forward when you know your left midfielder is a stroppy Frenchman with an aversion to back-tracking?
I think he's one of the better left backs we've seen in recent years - remember he only just let £10m rarer wonderkid Oxlade-Chamberlain out of his pocket too
Bessone against Saints was brilliant like Swisdom said he managed to keep Chamberlain off the pitch, and my saints mate said he was the best left back he had seen against him this season. However, since then, he has looked very dodgy, i can see why Leeds fans didn't rate him.
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]should have kept Grant Basey, oh no he was shit too. Good job Leighton Baines has agreed to join next season for 2k per week and a curlywurly.
Basey has a lot of good qualities but I shudder to think how he'd have coped with a quick winger like Hunt!
Bessone looked shaky early on but stuck to his task well and over the 90 minutes had the best of it imo.

You do yourself no justice with this comment at all.
Please enlighten me here.
He had a fast winger who got round him once maybe twice but aside from that he was competent in the pace department. More than competent. Maybe we're talking about a different player but the Bessone I watch is pretty fu&@ing fast!

Good post Swisdom.Bessone is quick which is why his recovery is very good.As to his lack of overlapping yesterday it might have been due to Chrissy instructing Bessone to cover the two central defenders. This he done very well especially the second half.Im sure of all player positions Chrissy would know if a left back is good enough or not.
It's all about opinions of course but mine is not being convinced by Bessone. Looking at the games overall he has played then I am not sure he is good enough for a team to go on and win promotion. Might look better with more quality around him in defence because that is also sadly lacking. Prove me wrong Federico but at the moment the jury is still out for me.
I agree Shootershill that the jury is out and even Im not totally convinced but to call Bessone slow, as has been said in some other quotes, is so false.

Agreed on the pace issue. Not slow but I feel he get stranded on wrong side of player to often.
Youre right Shooters he was half asleep the first quarter yesterday and he has that tendency not to play tight to the line.Hopefully these are faults that can be easily remedied in training sessions.

Agree with that, looks lacking in pace too.
