I was fairly impressed by what Southend fans were saying about Francis and McOxo in the summer, so i'm not going to be too downhearted about negative comments from Leeds on this one just yet.
This is brilliant news. It will mean we now have a young, foreign player on whom all Charlton fans can vent their frustration. He's clearly not good enough (as fans from his former clubs have pointed out. And we know how consistently accurate they can be). So we'll now have someone who can be the butt of all the moans and groans from the Valley "faithful".
This will leave the way for all "proper" Charlton players to get on with their games, without being worried about putting a foot wrong.
And he's been signed "with a view to the deal being made permanent". Again, excellent work, as this will concentrate the minds of fans who will need to make it clear to the management how poor he is, how we should do much better and, if this is how far we've sunk... etc etc.
Well done Charlton.
(However, please forgive me if I break ranks and give him support. I have to admit that I know a bit less about playing at left back than Chris Powell, so I might just allow him a bit of leeway).
Simon Grayson said of Bessone "I watched him last year. He's very comfortable on the ball and is a very good acquisition."
[Chris Powell was in charge of reserve team football at Leicester - I suppose Bessone has made an impression in a reserve team game against Leicester?
Also Bessone played under Sousa at Swansea, and Powelly would know Sousa from his short spell as manager at Leicester this season.
I don't believe Powelly has gone in blindly with this signing. Obviously he has done his homework, assessed the player's character, likes his style of playing ...... and thinks he could get this player performing..
Until our crowd trash the player's fragile confidence ......(!)
;o)
By signing a footballing, attacking left back comfortable on the ball........ maybe that's a good indication of how Chris Powell wants the team to play?
It's worth metioning that Sousa's Swans were tight as a Duck's Arse at the back too and Bessone was a regular in that side, he must have a little something about him.
Wonder what this means for Fry, will he be used as a CB or have West Ham maybe hinted they will recall.
Not going to over react to the Bessone signing as sure Powell has done his homework, also Swansea had one of the best defensive records last season so their fans comments will perhaps be more sour grapes than real analysis. As for Leeds, that could just be a case of wrong move for the guy, their defence is pretty ordinary so maybe he was singled out unfairly. Perhaps he was Leeds version of Francis, not a terrible player just struggled to get over a bad start and made a scapegoat for the whole defence being average.
Can't fathom out how a club can bring in a player when that player has hardly played any games for his 'other' club? How do we know if he's up to the job if hasn't played? All seems a bit odd to me.

Played against Leicester last season, as well as about 20 other matches for Swansea last season
Everyone knows that some players don`t fit in or have the best of times at every club they play for, doesn`t mean they are shite. How many top players come to this country and fail abysmally only to move on and succeed?
Give the man a chance ffs he hasn`t even played for us yet and he is getting slaughtered! By the end of the season we will all know what he`s about.
Anyway he is on loan so we haven`t wasted any money on him!

Anyone care to transcribe the gist of it for those of us unable to sign-up to CAFC Player?[/quote]
Happy to sign for club, says his agent was talking to us last week, likes to be on the ball and enjoys taking the ball forward. Asked if he knew anyone at the club he said he played with the trialist Bauza who Parky was looking at in the summer and who we got back on trial now.
obviously no one has seen anything much, if at all, of this fella amongst us addicks but how much of him has SCP seen and how much of an input into the decision to sign him or anyone else has SCP had

Can't believe we've signed a player from the famous Barca youth system (via Wales and Yorkshire) !!

One of the things that is exciting about Sir Chris is that he has such a wide network .
As for Bessone , Swansea wanted him to stay and last year he was a key part of their side in the CCC.
I also hope Fry remains because he could be the young CB we need.

Stuart Pearce ?

football player or rugby? lol
You say that but:
Steve Bruce was a centre back (and a very good one at that) and he has signed some very dodgy centre backs in the past.
Im sure there are many more examples...
He was also the man who finally straightened Titus Bramble out.
Why .....was he Bent?
He learned that from Boris.

Exactly this. Same thing when we signed Chris Perry from Spuds too. Just give the guy a chance.
I'll judge him when and how he plays for us.
