I have a feeling that any announcement will be made tomorrow.....CAFC have a habit of making announcements on a Thursday e.g "Charlton accept a takeover bid" was announced on Thursday 2nd December. Also the original announcement as quoted below says no later than 24th, not on the 24th! "The investor group is undertaking full legal and financial due diligence.
"Subject to them being satisfied with the outcome, it is anticipated that completion of the acquisition will take place no later than 24 December."
So one more sleep to go???
Who knows, but I look forward to a press conference being called for tomorrow later on today!!!
The first game for the half year season ticket is against Southampton on Boxing Day. If they don’t announce the details of the takeover until Xmas eve that means that it will have virtually zero impact on the sales of the half year season ticket. I would guess that the club could easily sell an extra 1000 half year season tickets if they announced the takeover a week earlier. Even if it was not a big money takeover and Parky was only given 1 or 2 million to spend in the transfer window I feel enough people would be excited enough to commit to the half year season ticket. At an average of say £200, 1000 extra sales would generate an immediate inflow of £200,000. If this is a small money takeover surely the people behind it would push to tie everything up in time to grab these extra sales. Could it be that an extra £200,000 (or even £1 million if they sold 5000 extra tickets!) is not significant for these new investors?
Would love to know how many half season tickets were bought when Zabeel announcement took place. Yes, it is an interesting point but even if it is announced today or tommorrow it still doesn't leave much time for selling these tickets. My guess is that this takeover is going to be big. Why else would there be such secrecy to the takeover of a Leaque 1 club...what with Parky and PV's wife not knowing. If wasn't a such big deal then surely somebody would have leaked some information by now.
@ValleyMcMoist In all seriousness all due to be revealed Xmas Eve

I saw this yesterday and thought to myself if he (as per his first answer imed 12:54) "is leaving it alone", how does he know all will be revealed on Xmas Eve (his second answer at 12:58)? Perhaps he is just restating from the original announcement......or does he really know?

This makes more sense than most theories we've heard on here, especially to those of us who are still clinging to the wishful thinking side of things

We sold around 10,000 at the start of the season and yet you seriously think we wil get another 1000 simply based on a takeover. I think you've been on the Christmas Wiskey a bit early.
I don't believe we would see an upsurge in ticket sales untill money was being spent, not just promised. So if the takeover is big money and if they spend some in January then we may get more sales by the end of January. But even then I can't see more than 500 being swayed by it.
It took three poor seasons to lose 10,000. I think it would take at least the same amout of time to turnaround again.

@sammo99 I'll have one more try tomorrow before details emerge (I assume) on Fri. Murray + Varney giving nothing away #cafc
Seems they're assuming there will be an announcement tomorrow as planned, rather than it being confirmed that it's still on time.
