  • Parkinson, who has established a reputation as one of the best managers outside the top flight, is certainly not short of ambition
  • From the BBC website re: Football Focus on 18 Dec: "This week, we return to the sanctity of the studio, where Lawro and Lee Dixon will be joined by Dennis Wise. "

    Coincidence? You decide.

    I don't like coincidences.
  • 8 more sleeps to go
  • chill out it will soon be over and all will become clear

the one thing that is certain is that this will be the start of a new era and it may take a little getting used to

That would surely mean the BBC knows more about the takeover than us and all the sports journalists in the country.
  • life would be boring without a little uncertainty. Highs and lows can be good although i sincerely hope we are now at our lowest point.

Wise is also appearing as a guest on SS1 goals on Sunday acording to their website......you can even send in questions to ask him, he's appearing with Dave Bassett.
He's gonna be all over the TV this weekend

  • There is so much chaff flying about at the moment, can't people just wait?
  • Come on Rothko, allow yourself to get a little bit excited about Dennis Wise becoming our new manager.
  • Saw an exspensive looking Aston Martin at Walsall game driving down towards the ground... Richard Murray ? or new owners..?

    or random rich supporter.
  • My source isnt Ackworth... it's someone very credible
Wise was at The Valley last night for a video conference with the investers
  • [cite]Posted By: Steve Dowman[/cite]Come on Rothko, allow yourself to get a little bit excited about Dennis Wise becoming our new manager.
Manager? Could be the new chairman, like Quinn at Sunderland.
  • I have mixed feelings , if Wise is involved there must be serious money but the idea of him does worry me. He has no affinity with Charlton . As a kid he supported QPR and as a player he is most identified with Chelsea and the old Wimbledon.

I have a Spanner friend who claims he ruined them because he insisted on bringing in high waged cronies like Jody Morris which led to their most recent period in League One .He couldn't get Leeds out of this Division ( albiet with a 15 point deduction ) and his player recruitment record at Newcastle suggests we might be in line for some more Omar Pouso type signings.

If he is coming I hope it is not at the expense of Parky but as a sort of middle man
  • If this is true re video link up at The Valley last night it can only point too the West coast of the USA,Dennis Wise once of Wimbledon and The Crazy Gang and an old friend of a certain ex Wales captain.

    Vinnie Jones !!!!! Lol
  • Perhaps football focus is at the Valley this Saturday.
  • There's a real 2 add 2 equals 5 in this thread now.

I can't wait for a local millionaire with less money than muzza to be wheeled out in a shirt over his cardie.

Some people will cringe at their posts

  • Am I missing something out with Wise because I personally don't see what the problem is him being involed with the club?

When he was at Millwall he took them to the FA Cup final, he left Millwall when they finished 10th in the championship then next season they got relegated. He also done well for Leeds especially putting up with deduction points for two seasons. He also left Leeds when they were 3rd in League one to join Newcastle.

I am not going to mention what happend at Newcastle because I think they are a joke with what is going on there at the moment.

Having said all that I would rather Wise not get involed as he has no connection with us, unless he takes over Parky as manager but I would rather stick with Parky until end of the season and see how it goes. If we was going to have a director of football I go with Lennie Lawarance anyday.
  • [cite]Posted By: Richard J[/cite]He has no affinity with Charlton .

Zabeel did not have too much affinity with us either. Whoever comes through on this is unlikely to have too much affinity with the club, we just have to hope that whoever it is they have the best interests in the club long term.

    Lennie is at Hereford.

I seem to remember that most people thought Poyet was the brains behind Leeds at the time.

Is Henry involved? I didn't realise he was that flush :-)
  • [cite]Posted By: Lewis Coaches[/cite]If this is true re video link up at The Valley

Perhaps Wise's Sky box was broken and he wanted to watch the Liverpool game? :-)
  • I thought something was supposed to happen before the weekend?
  • that was speculation i think
  • [cite]Posted By: gilbertfilbert[/cite]I thought something was supposed to happen before the weekend?

    still time isn't there ?
  • I've heard from my normally reliable source that the new owners are too busy trying to defrost the pitch at Hartlepool to announce anything before the weekend unfortunately.
  • We have just settled with Iain Dowie according to the SLP clearing another hurdle for the takeover to complete.
