Before Dr Kish finished I was going to post a series of Derby themed articles of some of the bigger clubs when they played each other .

Here is the Addick themed Manchester derby line ups as they play each other this afternoon.

The United team contains two players Whalley and Halse from Charlton's first ever league match . Hannaford was a forward also from the 1920's .

Weaver is preferred in goal to Carson because Scott hasn't played in the City first team yet . The most obscure connection is Ronnie Mauge. He claims a place on the City  bench because he made single substitute appearances for both sides in Cup games .

City . GK Nicky Weaver , RB Danny Mills , LB Ben Thatcher , CB Tommy Caton , CB Alan Kernaghan RM Scott Sinclair , CM Steve MacKenzie CM Abdul Razak LM Neil Heaney , ST Bradley Wright-Phillips ST Jim Melrose ,

Subs : Scott Carson , Sid Cann , Geoff Hammond , Tal Ben Haim , Ronnie Mauge , Paul Hince , Chris Jones

United GK Ben Amos , RB Tony Young , LB Jonathan Spector , CB Frank Haydock , CB Athur Whalley . RM Alan Davies , CM Maurice Setters , CM Graham Moore , LM Jesper Blomqvist , ST Garth Crooks , ST Harold Halse .

Subs :Paul Rachupka , Michael Stewart , Dylan Levitt , Keith Gillespie , Chris Eagles , Charlie Hannaford , Lee Martin

    Northampton.

This was Ketts (Dr Kish)'s favourite mutual team as it included his cousin Paul Curtis.

Paul Rachupka holds the club record as the most unused sub who never made an appearance. I put Andy Woodman on the bench as I couldn't find another keeper who played for both clubs .

Normally a Full Back Theo Foley is deployed at centre back and England International Harold Miller is chosen even though his  3 games for the Cobblers were taken off the official record because the Second World War was declared and the 1939/40 season was cancelled.

GK Paul Rachupka, RB Paul Curtis, LB Paul Friar, CB Theo Foley, CB Geoff Scott, RM Mark Marshall CM Graham Moore, CM Eamon Rogers, LM Ricky Holmes ST Cliff Holton, ST Harold Miller

Subs : Andy Woodman (GK coach at Charlton) , Dietmer Bruck , Danny O Shea , Chris Wilder , Carl Leaburn , Lee Martin , Jason Lee

Newcastle V Aston Villa tonight on Sky . I have updated earlier selections .

    Two strong teams .

Newcastle's defence contains four centre backs . Onewyu and Young both played at full back occasionally . I decided to select Arthur Horsfield over Faye at centre back because of his exploits in the 1974/75 promotion season .

The 5 man midfield is one of the best for any mutual team. All of them are England Internationals . The fact that the Newcastle versions of Keith Gillespie and Gavin Peacock don't make the team show how strong it is .

Villa has Morts at left back where he played sometimes . Konsa makes the team alongside Elliott and Phillips who played together at Charlton in 1981/82 . Historical players Dai Astley and Sailor Brown feature in the first eleven and Harold Halse and George Stephenson are on the bench .

    Newcastle 4 5 1

GK Rob Elliot , RB Oguchi Onewyu , LB David Young , CB Arthur Horsfield , CB Kevin Scott , RM Robert Lee , CM Scott Parker , CM Lee Bowyer , LM John Barnes , CAM Jon jo Shelvey , ST Andy Hunt .

Subs : Tony Caig , Amdy Faye  , Alan Davies , Gavin Peacock , Keith Gillespie , Paul Kitson . Leon Best

Peter Garland  , George Hope , Bob McKay , Monty Wilkinson are other connections .

    Aston Villa 5 3 2

GK Scott Carson , RB Luke Young , CB Ezri Konsa , CB Paul Elliott , CB Leighton Phillips , LB Paul Mortimer , MF Mark Kinsella , MF Sailor Brown , MF Alan Curbishley , ST Dai Astley , ST Darren Bent .

Subs : Jed Steer , Carl Tiler , Harry Gregory , Scott Sinclair , George Stephenson , Carlton Cole , Harold Halse ,

Terry Bullivant  ,  Andre Gray and Mike Kenning are other outfield connections . John Dunn , Bill Johnson ,Albert Lindon and John Phillips all played in goal for both clubs

The North London derby today .

In my view the Arsenal team is disappointing when you consider the size of the club  . Many of the teams from lower Divisions are stronger in my view .

I pick two keepers from the 1930's over Tony Burns .Gerry Keizer was a Dutch International who went on to become an icon at his home town club Ajax . Chuks Aneke 'qualifies' because he was a 90th minute sub for the Gunners in a League Cup game against Shrewsbury . I pick Sanago over him because he played in the FA Cup Final and at a higher level than Chuks .

Spurs is fairly strong and has a lot of players from our recent Premier League era . Nine of the first eleven played for the Addicks in the top tier .

    Arsenal

GK Gerry Keizer , RB Carl Jenkinson , LB Steve Gatting , CB Tommy Caton , CB Chris Whyte , RM Francis Coquelin , CM Alex Song , CM Krystian Bielik , LM Neil Heaney , ST Cliff Holton , ST Yaya Sonogo .

Subs : Charlie Preedy , Colin Pates , John Sneeden , Jerome Thomas , Emmanuel Frimpong , Chuks Aneke , Francis Jeffers.

    Spurs

GK Ben Alnwick , RB Luke Young , LB Paul Konchesky , CB Paul Miller . CB Chris Perry , RM Danny Murphy , CM Scott Parker , CM Johnny Jackson , LM Andy Reid , ST Darren Bent , ST Garth Crooks

Subs : David Button , Terry Naylor , Don McAllister , Milos Veljkovic , Martin Robinson , Chris Jones , Paul Walsh .

The latest couple of teams from our last and next opponents  .

Rovers contains a back four which spans both the early history of the Addicks with Bowers and Dodgin being from the 1920's and Lockyer and Holmes - Dennis almost 100 years later . McKay was a Scottish International striker from the 1930's .

This is the first time I have attempted the combined Wimbledon . I have largely selected from the original club George Armitage played in non league football for the Wombles before joining Charlton and winning England Caps in the 1920's .

    Bristol Rovers

GK John Vaughan , RB Alfred Bowers , LB Tareiq Holmes Dennis , CB Bill Dodgin Snr , CB Tom Lockyer , RM Scott Sinclair , CM David Wilson , CM Erhun Oztumer , LM Joe Anyinsah , ST Bob McKay , ST Steve White .

One of my favourite discoveries last year was that I could construct an Old Firm Derby with Charlton players and I wrote an article for Dr Kish so to mark today's game here are the Old Firm Addicks .

I include Tony Warner in goal for Celtic although he was only an unused sub for us . I also select Stuart Balmer who never appeared in the first team at Parkhead to give the team a better balance . I choose Rangers fan Jim Melrose in front of Carlton Cole or Tony Watt up front . Scott Sinclair also misses out .

To be consistent  I allow 2 ' ringers' for Rangers .  Jermaine Defoe and Richard Gough are probably the most successful Charlton youth products who never made a first team appearance  in the last 40 years . Other options outfield could have been Scottish International Bob McKay ( see above for Bristol Rovers ) ,Iain Ferguson , Francis Jeffers , Lee Martin, John McDonald and Martyn Waghorn .There are two other goalkeeping connections .  Antti Niemi had a spell at the Valley where he didn't play . The most obscure connection with Rangers is another keeper Lyndsay Hamilton .  He had a spell with us on loan as number two to Bob Bolder but didn't play in  competitive match although he saved a penalty in Steve Gritt's testimonial against Spurs .  He never played in the first team for Rangers either .

    Celtic 4 4 2

GK Tony Warner , RB Adam Matthews , LB Mark Reid , CB Paul Elliott, CB Stuart Balmer , RM Aiden McGeady , CM Beram Kayal , CM Zheng Zhi , LM Joe Ledley , ST Paolo Di Canio , ST Jim Melrose .

    Rangers 5 3 2

    Doncaster .

Following Jason Euell's promotion . He appears in the latest Mutual Team .

This is quite a strong line up although I have to improvise at Centre Back where I utilise a couple of players slightly out of position . John Vickers was a defender from the 1920's who was mainly a Full Back . Left Back Yun Suk Young is deployed as a Centre Back .

GK Jed Steer , RB Frazer Richardson , LB Cedric Evina , CB John Vickers , CB Yun Suk Young , RM Neil Redfearn , CM Paul Gilchrist ,CM Graham Moore , LM Dany N'Guessen , ST Jason Euell , ST Clive Mendonca .

    Sunderland .

A strong line up which has improved since I last posted it with Jonny Williams ,Adam Matthews and Aiden McGeady now featuring .

Bolder is a legend at Charlton but only managed 22 games at Roker . Agboola appeared once on loan for the Addicks against Arsenal in 1986 . El Karkouri is remembered at the SOL for being on the losing side in all of his 8 matches . Halom was an Addicks youth product who went on to become a FA Cup winner with the Mackems   .Sam Morris was a midfielder for both clubs in the 1920's .

GK Bob Bolder , RB Adam Matthews , LB Rueben Agboola , RCB Talal El Karkouri , CB Tal Ben Haim , LCB David Young , RM Aiden McGeady , CM Jonny Williams . LM Andy Reid , ST Darren Bent , ST Vic Halom .

I recently posted Posh above so today I will Pick a London Derby between West Ham and Chelsea as they are playing each other on Sky   .

West Ham is probably the strongest mutual team and sadly was the both the first and last article that I wrote for Dr Kish . It is also one of those squads that quite easily could have played together. Apart from Billy Bonds and Derek Hales all of the players are from the 21st century

Chelsea has a representative from Charlton’s first league match Harold Halse on the bench and is bang up to date with Ian Maatsen . I select Maatsen on the basis that he is naturally left footed.  I didn’t pick Da Silva or Gallagher because they have never featured in the Blues first team whereas Maatesen appeared as a sub against Grimsby in the Carling Cup in September 2019 . I also include 1920's England Internationals Harold Miller and Seth Plum on the bench .

West Ham GK Darren Randolph , RB Billy Bonds , LB Chris Powell , CB Alou Diarra, CB Christian Dailly , RM Robert Lee , CM Alex Song , CM Scott Parker , LM Paul Konchesky , ST Paolo Di Canio , ST Derek Hales .

Subs : Sasa Illic , Carl Jenkinson , Scott Minto , Lee Bowyer , Alan Curbishley , Carlton Cole , Leroy Rosenoir .

Norwich and Watford gain promotion to the PL . Two excellent teams .

Norwich contains the legendary Johnny Summers but is otherwise quite modern . Apart from Matt Jackson all of the line up played in the top flight for at least one of the clubs .

Watford is one of my favourite line ups . It is historic Croker and Phipps were part of the Charlton 1947 FA Cup winning side . Cliff Holton is considered a club legend at Vicarage Road scoring 96 times in 144 matches in the 1950's and 60's as well as aiding the Addicks to a Second Division relegation survival in 1966      Mike Walker's one appearance for the Addicks was memorable for all of the wrong reasons we lost 5-1 away at Plymouth. He had a more successful career for Watford playing in their 1970 giant killing against Liverpool. I overlooked the scorer that day Barry Enden
Of course John Barnes and Chris Powell played together at the Valley . If we could have the Watford version of Barnes that would be quite a combination on the left hand side and bringing things up to date we have Jacko and Ben Watson.

    Norwich 4 2 3 1

GK Declan Rudd , RB Danny Mills , LB Mark Bowen ,CB Gary Doherty , CB Matt Jackson , DM Andrew Crofts , DM Scott Parker , RM Graham Stuart AM Jonatan Johansson LM Johnny Summers ST Leon McKenzie

Subs : Jed Steer , Rhoys Wiggins , Akin Fanewo , Andy Hughes , Darel Russell , Matt Svenssen , Leroy Lita

    Watford 4 4 2

Grimsby and Southend get relegated to the Conference. I did an update of Grimsby above, so here is Southend.

Another team that goes back to the 1920's with England Internationals Harold Halse and Seth Plum featuring . There are two future Charlton managers in Firmani and Powell . Ryan Inniss's inclusion brings the side up to the present day . The centre back partnership with Leon Cort would certainly pass the Charlton Life height test .

GK Simon Royce, RB Simon Francis, LB Chris Powell, CB Ryan Inniss,CB Leon Cort, RM Mark Gower, CM Seth Plum, CM Keith Jones, LM Garry Nelson, ST Eddie Firmani, ST Harold Halse.

Subs: Jim Stannard, Gary Poole , Christian Dailly, Nicky Bailey , Ricky Otto , David Whyte , Paul Williams .

The Championship Playoff teams Mutual Teams . Interestingly the hero of the Battle of Stamford Bridge Paul Miller appears in three of them

For Barnsley I pick Vaz Te for his exploits in his six months at Barnsley not his unimpressive spell with us  .

Bournemouth has improved a lot in the last ten years . Steve Gritt would now only make the bench .Sometimes this exercise produces interesting combinations . Kermorgant and Taylor is a good example of this  .Arter is eligible because of a substitute appearance away at Luton .

Brentford has a historic centre back in George Smith .  He played for the Bees in the top flight in the 1940's . I choose Mortimer over Salako because imho Paul was a better player for the Addicks than Salako who only signed for Brentford at the end of his career . When picking the Palace team above I selected Salako .

Swansea surprisingly only has one Welsh player in the first eleven . When I do this exercise for Cardiff more than half of the team are from the land of our fathers .

I had overlookd Conor Gallagher when I posted Swansea. I would swap him for Pratley.

The team was selected originally on Dr K last season before Conor moved to the Liberty Stadium.

The three teams relegated from the Prem .

For Fulham I pick Smertin out of position at Right Back where he could play rather than Elliot Omuzzi . I also slot Pratley in at Centre Back rather than Hudson who played a couple of Cup games for the Cottagers . The midfield is impressive with Murphy ,  Jensen and Parker . Summers gives it some historical interest . Bringing it up to date Lookman partners Bent .

Sheffield United has Mendonca and Taylor up front . Both players were much better at the Valley than Bramall Lane .

West Brom is another strong side and has Setters and Whyte at Full Back slightly out of position .

Sometimes a new player can enhance a few mutual teams.

Eoghan O Connell helps create viable Bury, Celtic ,Rochdale and Walsall teams.

Previously I had included Stuart Balmer for the Celts although he never made a first team appearance at Parkhead.  I won’t repost Oldham because Balmer and Webster both played at Boundary Park and would replicate their first game at the Valley partnership.

    Walsall 4 4 1 1

GK Craig McGilivray , RB Greg Shields, LB Albert Langford , CB Llewellyn Morgan , CB Eoghan O Connell , RM Steve Gritt , CM George Dobson, CM Mark Kinsella, LM Erhun Oztumer , CAM Corey Blackett Taylor , ST Jordan Cook

Other options Mick Kearns ,Neil Etheridge , Chris Wilder , David Davis, Scott Houghton, Fred Burrill , Franck Moussa.

Although not a new player Terell Thomas's appearance means three of the mutual teams have a better balance.

He doesn't make the cut for Reading or Wigan, but here are Crewe , Sutton United and AFC Wimbledon.

I will update some of the teams considering our recent signings and moves elsewhere.

Conor Gallagher finally becomes eligible for Chelsea.

GK John Phillips , RB Marvin Hinton,LB Scott Minto, CB Paul Elliott,CB Colin Pates, RM Graham Stuart,CM Conor Gallagher,CM Scott Parker,LM Gavin Peacock, CAM/ST Graham Moore, ST Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Burnley has dramatically improved since I last posted. Josh Cullen and Dale Stephens would have been a very impressive midfield duo.

GK Nick Pope , RB Andy Todd , LB Iain Maatsen, CB Leon Cort, CB John Pender , RM Chris Eagles , MF Josh Cullen, MF Dale Stephens, LM Johan Gudmundsson, ST Andy Gray, ST Chris Iwelumo.

Subs: Nicky Weaver, Andre Bikey, Jay McEverley, David Campbell (NI), Brendan O Connell, Freddie Ulvestad, Marvin Sordell

Todd Kane gives their local rivals Blackburn a specialist Right Back. I won’t update any other teams for Todd. I will wait to see how he performs before selecting him elsewhere (see Hull below).

GK Mike Salmon , RB Todd Kane, LB Jay McEverley, CB Willie Rankin ( 1930’s FA Cup winner with Rovers), CB Christian Dailly, RM Keith Gillespie , CM Danny Murphy , CM Eamonn Rogers, LM Matty Holmes, ST Leon Best , ST Tony Watt.

Subs: Jason Brown , Andy Todd, Jack Payne, Jimmy Mullen, Luke Varney ,Marcus Bent, Jay Bothroyd

Of Matt Penney’s previous clubs, he helps edge us towards having an 11 for Motherwell although we are still a few players short of that.

He has improved Mansfield albeit appearing in midfield. Lewis Page claims the left wing back spot having appeared once for the Stags earlier this season in another injury hit spell. Good to see the legendary Bob Curtis appearing in the only mutual team he is eligible for,

GK Nicky Weaver , RWB Bob Curtis , LWB Lewis Page , RCB Ray Harford, CCB Jonathan Fortune,LCB Lawrie Madden, MF John Stenson , MF George Lapslie ,MF Matt Penney,ST Jimmy Gauld , ST John Pearson.

Michael Hector and Steven Sessegnon improve Fulham by giving better options in their natural positions on the right side of defence. They replace the out of position Pratley and Smertin.

GK David Button , RB Steven Sessegnon, LB Paul Konchesky, CB Michael Hector, CB Paul Went, RM Ade Lookman, CM Danny Murphy, CM Claus Jensen, CM Scott Parker,LM Johnny Summers, ST Darren Bent..

Subs : Jim Stannard , Mark Hudson ,Alexi Smertin, Darren Pratley, John Salako, Leroy Rosenoir, Ralph Allen.

Hector improves Hull and replaces historic player Norman Neilson . I left Kane out because Alex Dyer converted to Left Back / Left Central Defender in his latter career and was naturally left footed.

GK Ben Amos , RB Danny Mills, LB Alex Dyer,CB Leon Cort, CB Michael Hector, RM Cameron Stewart, CM Dennis Booth, CM Bryan Hughes, LM Marcus Maddison, ST John Pearson, ST Martyn Waghorn.

I will cheat a bit to create Shrewsbury following Hector’s arrival. Dean Holden obviously never played for us, but as we are a defensive outfield player short, I will rope him in. A strange 3 4 3 formation.

GK John Phillips, Def Dean Holden , Def Yado Mambo, Def Michael Hector, RM Sullay Kakai , MF David Davis, MF Steve MacKenzie, LM Mike Kenning, ST Conor McAlney, ST Leon Clarke, ST Jim Melrose.

Other goalkeepers David Button , Craig McGillivray , Mike Walker

Do you mean Talal el Karkouri or Tahar el Khalej here?
Easy to mix their names up, granted, but one of them was good for us while the other was absolute toilet.

It is Talal. He played 8 games for the Wearsiders and they lost them all.

    Updated teams.

I normally try to show how summer moves enhance the selections. Here are some new teams.

Harry Isted gives us a keeper for Stoke. His JPT appearance for the Potters Under 23’s is the nearest I can get to a goalie who has appeared for both clubs so he completes the line up.

GK Harry Istead , RB Fraser Richardson, LB Morgan Fox, CB Leon Cort, CB Jonathan Fortune, RM Jordan Cousins, CM Amdy Faye, CM Maurice Setters ,LM Alfie Doughty, ST Ricardo Fuller, ST Garth Crooks.

Other options: Jay Bothroyd , Deon Burton , Tariqe Fosu , Chris Iwelumo, Gavin Kilkenny, Geoff Scott and Tom Soares

Istead also completes Wealdstone and would be eligible for Barnsley and Luton

     4 4 2

GK Harry Istead, RB Charlie Barker, LB Charles Clayden, CB Deji Elewere  , CB Yado Mambo, RM Steve Browne, CM Aaron Henry,CM Dean Parrett , LM Len Worley ,ST Scott McGleish, ST Marvin Sordell,

     Other option : Josh Umerah

Tayo Edun ensures we have a conventional left back for Lincoln. Previously I had slotted Alex Dyer in there. Tayo would also be eligible for Blackburn, Fulham and Ipswich.

GK Peter Wakeham , RB Chris Wilder , LB Tayo Edun, CB Steve Thompson,CB Bill Dodgin Snr, RM Neil Redfearn, CM George Shipley , CM Conor McGrandles , LM Alex Dyer, ST Macauley Bonne, ST Steve White.

Lloyd Jones increases the options for Accrington and Cheltenham. In both cases we need to be creative regarding  these selections.

Accrington : GK Rob Elliot , RB Sean Clare LB Aswad Thomas ( only ever an unused sub for Charlton), CB Lloyd Jones , CB Teddy Ivill ( a pre war player for the original Stanley), RM Chris Eagles , CM Bryan Hughes, CM Harry Pell ( youth player for Charlton), LM Tarique Fosu, ST Jayden Stockley , ST Michael Smith.

Other options : Carl Ikeme ,Francis Jeffers ,Darren Randoloph,Paul Smyth Harry Wyper ( from the original Stanley)

Alfie May joins him for Cheltenham and would also be eligible for Doncaster.

     Cheltenham 4 3 3

GK Dillon Phillips , RB Lloyd Jones , LB Matt Taylor , CB Ryan Inniss, CB Michael Hector, RM Luke Varney , CM Dean Sinclair , LM Dennis Allen , ST Paul Benson , ST Chris Iwelumo , ST Alfie May

Burton Albion is interesting. We completed an eleven after the summer transfer window two years ago when I had discovered that ex 60’s keeper Mick Rose had played for the Brewers in their non-league days. Terry Taylor’s signing now ensures that we have a subs bench of six.

GK Craig McGillivray , RB Sean Clare , LB Deji Oshiliaja , CB Ian King , CB Garry Rowett , RM Bryan Hughes , CM Terry Taylor , CM Scott Fraser , LM Luke Varney, ST Darren Bent, ST Marvin Sordell.

Subs: Mick Rose, Sam Lavelle, Charlie Kirk, Jamie Ward ,Joe Doodo, Josh Parker.

Terry Taylor is also eligible for Grimsby and Wolves.

Panutche Camara would be eligible for Ipswich and Plymouth and along with Aaron Henry he potentially improves Crawley.

GK Ben Hamer , RB Marvin Hinton , LB Kelly Youga , CB Colin Pates , CB Richard Wood , RM Tony Towner , CM Aaron Henry, CM Panutche Camara , LM John Robinson, CAM Billy Clarke , ST Karlan Grant.

For those who have got into the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynold’s Welcome to Wrexham series.

    Here is their mutual team

GK Mike Salman ( John Vaughan is also eligible]  , RB Steve Stacey ( Charlton’s first black player) , LB Harry Lennon, CB Steve Dowman , CB Eoghan O Connell , RM Elliot Lee , CM Andrew Crofts , CM Bryan Hughes, LM Luke Holden ( came on as a sub against Southampton in the JPT) ST Joe Anyinsah,, ST Izale McLeod.

MK Dons is a bit more balanced now after this summer’s moves although it still is slightly creative in defence . Ben Reeves started his career at left back, so Chicksen is moved to right back and new signing Tennai Watson fills in at centre back where he played a few times for MKD.

GK Craig McGivillray , RB Adam Chicksen , LB Ben Reeves , CB Tennai Watson , CB Miguel Llera , RM Jonny Williams , CM Diego Poyet , CM Scott Fraser , LM Jake Forster Caskey, ST Izale McLoed , ST Chuks Aneke.

Other options Alex Gilby, Danny Green ,Nathan Harness ,Sullay Kaikai ,Jonathan Leko , Conor McGrandles, Jack Payne, Bally Smart

Sam Walker properly completes two-line ups. Barnet and Northampton. Previously they didn’t have keepers who had played a competitive first team match for Charlton. Sam spent time on loan with both in the early part of his career.

     Barnet  : 4 2 3 1

Given that most of the Bees history is as a non-league club who mainly struggled when they got to the fourth tier and they only spent one very unsuccessful season in the third tier, this isn’t a bad line up.

GK Sam Walker , RB Marvin Hinton , LB Garry Borrowdale , CB Simon Webster, CB Jon Fortune , DM Alan Pardew , DM Don McAlister ,RM Colin Powell, AM/ST Kevin Lisbie, LM Ricky Holmes, ST Izale McLeod.

Subs : Lee Harrison , Garry Poole ,Michael Hector, Grant Basey, Mark Gower , Nicky Bailey ,Lee Cook, Alex Dyer, Tresor Kandol.

Other options  : Ruben Bover, Jamal Campbell-Ryce ,Peter Jenkins, Barry Little, Mark Marshall, Charlie MacDonald ,  Scott McLeish ,Dave Mehmet , Danny Mills ( not the ex-England International ), Dean Parrett , Dean Sinclair and Josh Wright.

Barnet keepers Peter Guthrie . Lee Harrison and Andy Pape all spent time with the Addicks without appearing in the first team. Mick Rose started his youth career at Barnet but never appeared for the Bees in a competitive match . The Addicks first England Cap Seth Plum also may have spent time at Underhill before the First World War according to some sources.

     Northampton. 4 3 3

Here Sam is joined by Lloyd Jones who along with my discovery that Andy Todd also spent time at Sixfields means I can have a conventional central defensive partnership in this line up and I move (the player) Theo Foley to right back and Geoff Scott to left back.

GK Sam Walker, RB Theo Foley, LB Geoff Scott, CB Andy Todd, CB Lloyd Jones, MF Graham Moore, MF Eamon Rogers,MF Ricky Holmes ST Cliff Holton, ST Carl Leaburn. ST Harold Miller

Subs Paul Rachupka, , Dietmar Bruck, Billy Clarke Paul Curtis , Paul Friar, Lee Martin , Alan McCormack , Ralph Allen, , Leon McKenzie,

Other players., , Bobby Hunt , Jason Lee , Mark Marshall  Scott McLeish  Izale McLeod ,Danny O’Shea , Josh Parker , Gordon Riddick , Michael Smith, Marvin Sordell and Chris Wilder also played for both clubs.

Goalkeeper Paul Rachupka never crossed the white line to play for Charlton but whilst at the Valley he featured on loan for the Cobblers.

I waited for adding the new signings until Thierry Small played. His brief sub appearance as a 16 year old for Everton has improved that team by giving the line up a specialist left back. I haven't updated every changed team but some where they had obviously improved or previously not been posted.

    Everton

GK Thomas Myrhe, RB Matt Jackson , LB Thierry Small , CB Eddie Youds , CB Carl Tiler , RM Ade Lookman , CM Aiden McGeady , CM Graham Stuart , LM Jesper Bloquvist, ST Jimmy Gauld , ST Francis Jeffers.

Other options Marcus Bent , Conor McAlney ,Garry Rowett and Ron Saunders.

Richard Gough ,Jim McDonagh and Stephen Hughes all played for Everton and had time with us without making a first team appearance.

Port Vale is an interesting line up with a keeper who didn't play for either first team outside wartime.

GK Albert Hankey ( 1930's reserve keeper for the Addicks who made 4 War time appearances for Vale) RB Reuben Agboola, LB Jimmy Oakes , CB Ryan Inniss, CB Kevin Scott , RM Jerome Thomas , CM Chris Eagles, CM Lawrie Wilson, LM Thierry Small, ST Mark Bright , ST Andy Jones

Other players . Marcus Bent , Andre Bikey,  Dany N'Guessen  and Akpo Sodje

For Southampton he can be joined by Kayne Ramsay although the Right Back slot would be hotly contested.

GK Antii Niemi ( briefly on loan with us but never made a first team appearance) RB Kayne Ramsay , LB Thierry Small , CB Taher El Khalej, CB Christian Daily , RM Paul Gilchrist , CM Dale Stephens , CM Joe Aribo , LM Neil Heaney, ST Ricardo Fuller, ST Bradley Wright Phillips.

Other  options : Goalkeepers Harry Isted spent time in the Saints academy and Paul Smith did likewise with us. Reuben Agboola ,Leon Best ,Danny Butterfield , Graeme Murty , Fraser Richardson and Dan Seaborne also played for Saints.

Kayne Ramsay also improves Crewe although in some ways I am sad to oust the 1920's left back John Devine who played once for Crewe in a FA Cup tie

GK John Phillips, RB Kayne Ramsay, LB Terrel Thomas, CB Madgid Bougerra, CB Daren Anderson, RM Luke Varney, CM Danny Murphy, CM Danny Hollands , LM Charlie Kirk , ST Chuks Aneke, ST Rob Hulse

Signing Ramsay also means Shrewsbury now doesn’t involve needing to shoehorn Holden into the lineup

As well as Kayne Ramsay, Freddie Ladapo also features although I accept I am being creative playing Kenning at left back. His one appearance in that position led to Eddie Firmani's sacking after a home mauling by Leicester.

    4 3 3

GK John Phillips RB Kayne Ramsay LB Mike Kenning CB Michael Hector CB Yado  Mambo. MF Sulley Kaikai. MF David Davis MF Steve MacKenzie ST Freddie Ladapo ST Leon Clarke ST Jim Melrose

    Conor McAlney is another option

Freddie only makes the bench for Rotherham which has improved since the previous two windows I can now play ‘ the real’ Ronnie Moore up front instead of centre back and partner him with Clive Mendonca and pair Edmonds Green with Richard Wood. Conor Coventry also features as does Dillon Phillips.

GK Dillon Phillips, RB Fraser Richardson, LB Scott Minto , CB Rharmani Edmonds Green , CB Richard Wood, RM Tony Towner CM Conor Coventry, CM Jake Forster Caskey , LM Jerome Thomas , ST Clive Mendonca, ST Ronnie Moore.

Subs:Les Surman Lawrie Wilson , Greg Halford, Ben Purrington , Tariq Fosu, Andrew Shinnie, Michael Smith, Freddie Lapado , Deon Burton.

Freddie is also eligible for Colchester, Crystal Palace Ipswich, Oldham, Plymouth and Southend.

Conor Coventry is also eligible for Lincoln , MKD , Peterborough and West Ham.

Edmonds Green could feature for Huddersfield or Wigan.

    Macauley Gillesphey features for Carlisle

GK Ben Amos RWB Alan Davies LWB Garry Borrowdale RCB Sam Lavelle CCB Peter Shirtliff LCB Macauley Gillesphey MF Cyril Davies MF Alan Campbell MF Harry Arter AM Hugh McAuley ST John Pearson

Other portions Tony Caig Danny Butterfield Jamal Campbell Ryce Jordan Cook are also eligible.

He could also appear for Plymouth.

Ex keeper Craig McGillivray continues to assist this project and completes Stevenage.

GK Craig McGillivray, RB Lawrie Wilson, LB Paul Sturgess, CB Leon Cort ,CB Sam Sodje RM Colin Powell, CM Alex Gilby , CM Jake Forster Caskey, LM Jamal Campbell Ryce, ST Chuks Aneke ,ST Kevin Lisbie
