Its what was expected, and its a shame. Unfortunatley the financial situation demands it, when the tide turns for thr better I'm sure the club will get the website back under its rightful control.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Depends how long the contract is.
I am bitterly disappointed by the change. I was a daily visitor to the site, and for me it was like walking into a room full of friends. it was MY Charlton, the one that I had supported since the Fifties, it was like that comfortable old cardigan that you just don't want to throw away. Partly because I am not strong on technology, this new site has no character, and in my view is another nail in the coffin of the life I have enjoyed. I understand the financial situation which has been created, but for those who did not like the ' little old Charlton ' concept this is a victory, one that unfortunately has taken away the friendly family club image and replaced it with a bland ' same as ' image. Unless they can add a bit of individuality to the site it won't see me again, thank goodness for Sue Townsend and my local Supporters Club.

have to agree.
It's not great, it's too fussy and I preferred the old site but it's just a website.
On the web content is king so as long as it is written by Charlton people then that's fine with me. I can still read the fixtures and reports and still read the ticket news so what am I missing out on exactly?
Just don't get all this "losing the club I know" stuff. We've only had a website of any sort since the 90s so most of us managed to follow the Club for years without one.
I actually prefer the online ahem 'super' store now.
Not visited for a while so dont know if its only just recently changed, but its much better than it was.
Agree with you and Left Behind, Henry - all the info is there and its only an information source.
Do we have a clique of neophobes on CL?

This. We knew it was coming, we knew exactly what it would look like as there were plenty of existing examples and we knew the alternative was more redundancies. And we were asked how we felt and we said we didn't mind.
Now that's its happened everyoen seems shocked.

What's the collective noun for neophobes?
Would you have described Charlton fans who protested over the move to Selhurst Park as neophobes, Henry?
Seems like you're not allowed to have an opinion these days without being called names.
Oh come on ... Airman Brown and others have explained why this had to happen ... would you rather see people out of work? Of course not, so why go on about it ... there was no alternative.

Time for a perspective check perhaps Woody.
This is a minor presentational change to a 20 year old website.
People are saying they will never visit the site again, even though the content is barely different and apparantly two people (Charlton people) have their jobs secured because of the change.
A bit of gentle ribbing is just what is expected on most internet forums.
Works fine for me on a mac. Navigating it isn't really a problem either as loads of other clubs have had the same site for years. I wanted some ticket info and found it in about 5 seconds. Some people love a fuss about nothing don't they!

There isn't much left of the sport I used to know. Very different animal too. Don't knock the club, knock the industry
Rubbish site, messy, looks cheap and wont bother visiting again.
You will be missed.

I'd guess at a 'nest' , a 'quiver' or a 'network' of neophobes

For the record I didn't call anyone a neophobe, Floyd Montana did, yet you choose to pick me up on it. I wonder why?
I'm sure it's ust a technical error, but at the moment I can't find any Charlton website.

this......jesus christ it's a fooking website FFS, far more important things going on....
as long as it still tells you the basic info you need to know fixtures/ticket news etc etc does it really matter what it looks like ?????
the way some people on here are going on you'd think they spent all day every day looking at it!!!
