It is awful to look at and seems harder to find what you want, but that could be because it is new. The important thing is that hopefully it helps the club revenue wise
Obviously it's not going to be as good as the old site, but we were probably one of a handful of clubs who didn't have the standard football league design so we were always going to 'move with the times'. As someone said earlier, it'll make finding info on other club's sites easier in the long-term, and the tonne of advertising must give us a little bit more money.
Don't mind the design too much, very busy and too many flashing/moving elements.
Somebody has cocked up the DNS during the move though, http://cafc.co.uk no longer works, you have to include the www. Used to work and it's a 2 sec job, so a strange oversight
Anyway just got to meddle on with it - i only use it for ticket info and the fixtures list. Hopefully Charlton Life can have a nice fixtures list section??
just seen this thread went straight to the site....not overly keen TBH, too many adverts and a little difficult to naviagte around. However I went to the CAFC player link and was relieved to see that at least this part is still the same and working with my log-in. I suppose as in all things we will get used to it......but I do mourn the old site and its passing.

Football League copyright restrictions would block that unless we all coughed up a huge sum of money - even though it's data that's obviously in the public domain. Unless you've the cash to test this in the courts, of course :-)
RE the toolbar. "Get the Official Charlton Athletics (plural?!) Toolbar". Would be good if they could actually get the name of the club right or am I nit-picking?

Just a further point...has the your views section gone? I've looked and cant find it!! If it has gone does that mean that the Nick Grays and Ackworths of this world will come on here, if they are not already (sorry dont know if they are or not)?
The fixture list issue is still going through court, according to this.
Here are the legal hoops that Watford site Blind, Stupid and Desperate had to go through. NetResult is the same firm that pulls fuzzy cameraphone footage from the Premier League off YouTube for "copyright reasons".
OMG Fli seemed to have hired desigeners from the great dot com crash. Still we all knew that, revenue is a must for the club and I understand that. There's a rambling piece on Cory Gibbs which appears to have come from a News Hopper correspondent. I just can't face reading such a poor layout with such poor fonts and text size.
I quitel ike it, never really fancied looking at other teams websites that use the same software but i quite like it now we have it, it looks alot better to look at, im so used to adverts all over the place nowadays anyway, plus we will get supported on the football league iphone app now :D

It's modern, fresh and bright.
And it's got Mr Happy on it.
Now the phrase is "I won't believe it until it's next to a Vodafone ad on the OS".
any news is on here within 30 seconds so not much loss at all
The fixture list doesn't show future possible cup ties which is a real pain if you want to make arrangements without clashing with cup games.

But the press office have done a decent job in polishing this particular turd - I wouldn't envy that immensely fiddly job.
not impressed
We are where we are!
(is this corporate speak).

There is an opportunity here for Charlton Life to fill some of the gaps left by the introduction of the new official site.
Really, how much? Is this worth looking into?
For example, whenever Phil Parkinson is quoted post-match, the most appropriate advertising image can be shown during...
... the story to ensure it has maximum impact, but also staying true to the subject and sentiment of the piece.
(if only)

That is true.
I know most other league clubs are on this style but it's always looked really bad, wouldn't take alot for FLi to update there design surely?
